CSGuitars try dividing it into separate categories, such as "Wah collection", "overdrive collection", "distortion collection", "fuzz collection", "modulation collection", "delay collection", etc.
everything positive he said about the Bugera is exactly on point with my low/mid tier Marshall solid state. with decent settings (research of favorite artists mix wit trial/error) and a Boss DS1 in front, it sounds just like Green Day or young FOB. it's powered small venues, but would sound amazing anywhere.
Your original video about the Micro Dark was one of the ones that sold me on it. I'm still shocked at how loud that little bastard gets when you put it with a good speaker. I find it gets a bit splatty when the gain is put past 3 o'clock with the volume up high, but overall a great sounding little amp. I actually use mine in my band's winter practice space in the singer's basement. In that cramped little room, it actually keeps up with our drummer and manages a passable clean tone while doing it. Just max the volume then turn up the gain until I can hear over the drummer (usually slightly dirty by that point) then use an overdrive pedal or 2 for the rest. I'm running it into a 16 ohm Egnater a Rebel series extension cab I bought for my Rebel 30 combo that I use in the summer when the jams are moved to the garage.
I gig with a Micro Terror as my main amp regularly. It's not the best tone ever, but it's good enough for the punk band I'm in! Sounds great with some decent pedals.
I did a video all about it a long time ago, back when I used to whisper everything I said, you can see it here: ruclips.net/video/h29Ov_PEnxw/видео.html
Dude I really like the tone from that record player amp. Ive been aware of your channel for a while and just started getting into it. And I really like that you know the science of music and am learning alot plus I like how innovative you are.
I have a vintage Marshall Lead 15 stack. One of the best SS tones I have ever experienced. I have actually tracked with it. Love the channel bro! Cheers!
I've had the bugera 333 for a couple years, amazing amp. I wanted something that had beautiful cleans and brutal gain and I got it. As a guitarist who loves really heavy tones, he isn't lying about the lead channel, I only keep it around 11 O'clock and that's plenty of gain for even the most brutal stuff. the stock speakers on the combo arent too great though
Build a wall within the walls. Or, pad the doors and window heavily. Put foam or other heavy material in corners to trap bass signals. Hang strips of old carpeting from the ceiling to deflect and absorb highs. You can't soundproof, but you can moderate, attenuate the volume and how far it carries outside. Also , everything you do to soundproof, usually makes it sound better, "treated' in your room.
I have been having a Bugera 1990 since 2010. I knew about the reputation for reliability issues, but I also knew that they sounded really good for the price you paid. I was willing to take a chance, since I am an electronics tech by trade and I was confident that I could fix any issue myself. Early on, the head did the whole channel switching thing followed by the swooshing noises after a half hour of band practice or so. I changed tubes and got a bias probe, which revealed that the 5881 tubes were biased at around 58mA, when they should have been at 33mA. Since fixing that, I had no problems with the amp. So yeah, in my experience Bugera amps are pretty solid. If I had an Infinium, that bias issue wouldn't have occurred at all.
the fly is a great workbench amp, like when you wanna make sure your soldering job worked, also great for midnight headphones when everyone is sleeping
I have a Fly 3. First amp I ever bought. I'll say this: it's great for beginners, which is what I was when I got it. It's cheap, and it gives the player an excuse to take it anywhere, promoting practice the beginner really needs. And for what it's worth, the clean channel is pretty nice.
I had a Bugera 333 non infinium and I honestly loved it. I thought it sounded great. I sold it to fund something else but I may end up with another one in the future.
no joke at all. ive played a gig with the blackstar fly3. i jammed with a guy for a party of maybe 40 people and people said it sounded great. the other guy was running a fender acoustic and microphone amp at fairly good volume and it had no problem being haired.
The thing I love about Bugera, they don't even try to pretend they aren't copying anyone and even blatantly put it in your face who. the Bugera 6262 is obviously a 5150/6505 copy, the Trirec is obviously a Triple Rectifier copy (it's in the name for fuck's sake) and a lot of classic Marshall's like the Plexi and the JCM800 don't get spared in their line-up as well.
That record player amp is the tits! Awesome warm and creamy tones. I love seeing that kind of innovation. I'm pretty late seeing this video, but kick-ass!!
have you tried adding a speaker out to the little blackstar? I did that with my 3 watt vox of the same style and it really makes the higher gain sounds more tolerable.
I agree. I have a Bugera v55 infinium head and since it's vintage based it gets greats cleans and although the gain isn't the best running a boss ds-1 through a clean channel gets a good gain sound. It's my first tube amp and I do think that for its price it's fucking amazing
Not trying to troll, but my bugera 333 combo actually failed. It's probably because I have never had another tube amp, but something blew up in it. Can't wait until it's fixed though. Love the thing
I used to use a Wollensak personal tape recorder from the '50s as a travel tube amp. It had two 12ax7 tubes in it, it's own collapsible metal case, and a balanced line level input.. what's not to like? All I had to do was turn it on, plug my pedal chain and guitar into the mic input, and go.
Bryan Hoskins I had an ancient Bogen tube PA from a church, I'd run my pedal board into it then run the bog into dual 15 cab. Man! 30 years later I'm STILL chasing that tone.
I am one of those guys who experienced the the worst of Bugera first hand. When they first came out i worked at Sam Ash and we had 3 in a row go bad. I swore off them, but i've been told i need to give them a second chance. I'll check them out when the opportunity presents itself.
Is was very impressed with the bugera T-50 infinium, running it through 2x12 vintage 30's and the sound is just excellent for the price point, not very metal, but workable with the help of pedals. Great for anything that needs less gain, sparkly cleans.
That record player amp is cool as hell....I love plugging in to weird stuff...I've been playing through a technics tape deck and the pre amp actually breaks up in a cool nin kinda way
I bought a Bugera based on this channel. Got a Trirec cheap and it is awesome. Lots of features and tone BUT my Randall RG is slightly better and was cheaper. Bugera is the way to go if you want a tube head and your on a budget.
I've got the newer version of the Marshall MG15 with the carbon fibre finish and the silver front. It's a good amp, good for practicing and messing around on. Although if I had the choice between the newer version and the micro stack version on this video, I'd go for the micro stack version
Well as much as I absolutely loved my Bugera Trirec, the fuckin thing died on me several times before I just got my money back. Fried preamp resistors, malfunctioning power attenuator then it spontaneously blew all four tubes. Wasn't a newbie tube amp owner, infact i had a Framus cobra and Bugera 6260 which both work beautifully.
ON the Hacker amp, if you want distortion get rid of the negative feedback loop and if it has one the Ultra Linear output transformer and possibly rebais the tubes for less head room. Hi Fi amp...feedback bad, Guitar amp Feedback good, lol. I work on valve amps and Hi Fi / PA amps can make fantastic guitar amps!! For very little money!
Colin, what's up! I know you've professed your hate of active pups in the past, but have you ever thought of giving the fishman fluence a try? Videos on them seem very positive
Sorry, forgot to mention that everything is going through the Laney IRT212 for sake of consistency, apart from the Blackstar Fly3 where you are hearing its own internal 3" speaker.
I had a Bugera BC-30 and was my main amp for about 3 years. The amp did eventually die on me during rehearsal one evening. I did love the sound I got out of it however... I mean it did die on me and the amp tech I took it too had no idea how to fix it or what happened to it.
I would certainly consider it, and it seems to be a fairly popular request these days. I may look into some kit amps and perhaps even designing part of the circuit myself.
I had the same infinium as you do but unfortunately it had some problems and i sent it into warranty to be fixed and i think they just forgot about it cause it took 6 months for it to come back. They even sent me the newer version, the 333xl which is just as good. it sounds really good through my mesa 2x12
What do you think of my pedal collection? Carl Martin compressor, Jemini Distortion, Dover Drive, Moon Phaser, (T.C Electronics), Visual Sound Liquid Chorus, and MXR Carbon Copy. Is there a device that can control all my pedals so that I don't have to do a tap dance everytime I gig?
Man I traded my Bugera for an eleven rack. Like the versatility of the eleven rack but I do miss the the no nonsense Bugera 333xl tone from time to time. Mine had 3 JJ12ax7 in the gain section and a electroharmonics in the clean section. All running through JJ6l6's.
Have you ever considering a peavey bandit? I have one the most recent model, swapped out the stock speaker for a Celestion greenback. I love it because I wanted something that’s kinda like a 5150 or 6505, without breaking the bank. They’re also solid state but sounds very fine like due to the transtube technology!
Collin, big fan here. Love your informative videos. Out of curiosity, have you seen the Behringer Vintage Tube Monster? Just snagged one used for dirt cheap and am waiting for parts to come in for modding it. I've heard people say changing the tube inside and doing the bitmo mod for it turns it into a true monster so that's what I'm doing this weekend if the parts come in.
Love that Bugera, I see a lot of them at gigs. I asked a guy with a Bugera 6262 (or 6260 whatever it is) and he enjoyed it. Never noticed it being any different than the other amps in the room - job done. Magnum Sound? So you're from around Motherwell/Wishaw then, or were you just visiting?
It's unfortunate that the Bugera 333 Infinium doesn't have a presence knob, because I feel that it has too much by default (IMO). I own and enjoy my 333XL Infinium and dial almost all of the presence out or else it gets fizzy. p.s. drinks off the equipment! pp.s. give in to the Kraken.
With the Bugera you talked about caring for your valve amps. As a beginner who owns a Peavey Valveking (and a Valve Jr. soon) I am pretty ignorant. Could you possibly do a video about this?
Do you have any particularly strong feelings about EL84 amps? They generally have my favorite clean tones, and I like their spongy overdriven sound for hard rock or paired with a fuzz for some thick, throaty goodness
My favorite power tubes too. 6l6s get cleaner, but they tend to sound sterile to me. I like that touch of compression and the way EL84s break up when you hit the strings hard.
CSGuitars Any model or style you particularly fancy? I'm an admitted fanatic of Voxes and clones, especially the Vox Handwired series, Suhr Badgers, and 65 Amps London
DomSchu You absolutely nailed what I love about them. If I could only have one amp it'd be an EL84 amp of some kind because the cleans are perfect and sparkly with just the right amount of compression, and the overdrive is to nice and smooth while still maintaining an aggressive edge
The Suhr Badgers are fucking beasts dude, One of the best bands I ever saw live was a small stoner rock band from Virginia that came up here and I couldn't believe the tone.
what kind of mullard did you use in the orange? loved the sound! the gain was much more smooth and not so fizzy! I still have the stock tube in mine because I havent decided on what to get yet!
it's fumny when you said 'maybe I'll get a new amp soon' I was thinking I wonder if the Kraken's on his mind and then there was the clip, what's the chances
Logan Munoz If you have the money, buy a mesa rectifier 112, amazing cab for all genres. If you cant spend that much, go for an evh 5150 112 they are also very nice
I have the same bugera head and I wished I never bought it. I got it brand new player it for about a year with no problems, but now I can only play on it for about an hour before it completely cuts off and switches to the clean channel. My bugera failed me.
Sold it on. I had only been using it as a cabinet for a long time, but after acquiring the Laney IRT212 I simply had no need of it. Lovely amp, but superfluous to my needs.
You'll get more versatility from the Valvestate, but the Terrors are nice for their portability and size. Quite a different sound between them too. I'd probably opt for the Valvestate if I were to only have one. Terrors are a nice addition.
Thank you for your tips and quick responses. Btw: Could you do a video where you read a story or something? I really like accent it's so cool and kind of relaxing, would be really nice to hear stories told with your voice!
My amp needs a reverb pedal. It's a Crate 150 Power Block. The only thing it has is a high gain for distortion. I don't have much $$ because I"m a retired Vietnam vet on a limited income. What would you suggest for a good reverb pedal to put into the effects loop?
Well, Microdark and Fly3 were both bought for the purpose of review on the channel. The Hacker was a unique project opportunity. Aside from them I had my initial practice amp, and the amp head I got for playing shows. Really if it weren't for running this youtube channel I'd not be any different from anyone else.
My first was a Line 6 10 watt combo borrowed from my grandfather, next was a Line 6 30 watt comb then I got the Line 6 Pod HD500x and then I got a Mesa Boogie triple rec with a Marshall 412 cab. But, unfortunately I have to play my 30 watt because my Boogie is having some tone issues, yes I changed all the pre-amp tubes, and I broke the 4-way switch for the channels so its stuck in one channel. Gonna take it to a tech soon. It really sucks though.
is Pedal collection next?
Are you looking for a 3 hour long video?
CSGuitars do it!!!!
CSGuitars try dividing it into separate categories, such as "Wah collection", "overdrive collection", "distortion collection", "fuzz collection", "modulation collection", "delay collection", etc.
CSGuitars Yes.
Three hours of Metalzone presets?
"Touched by the Love of Scoosh" Amen

I was so bored, I submitted Korean subtitle for this video
Solomon Oh I have them on just because why not
@@gamesandguitars3901 wow I actually have a twitch and mixer account called guitar and games
Thanks. I can't read Korean but I appreciate the effort.
Next collection of picks😂
Genuinely going to do this, as I have some cool picks that were sent to me that I haven't showed off yet.
CSGuitars Awesome
CSGuitars Will you continue the "Will it shred series" ? And what's up with the neck for the "Pink Floyd" fan?can you post some pictures/vids with it?

I gig with a Micro Terror as my main amp regularly. It's not the best tone ever, but it's good enough for the punk band I'm in! Sounds great with some decent pedals.
Try to build your own pedal from start
Veljko Blagojevic cs-1 instead of ds-1
drsquirrel123 nice
Its actualy pretty easy
You should make a tutorial for that record player amp, it was really interesting
I did a video all about it a long time ago, back when I used to whisper everything I said, you can see it here: ruclips.net/video/h29Ov_PEnxw/видео.html
CSGuitars awesome, thanks!
I would like to see some more pedal mod videos. Maybe pick up some nasty old things and see what you can make of them.
Bruce Hewat a good one would be the behringer VT999
You should do a video testing how durable the new Ernie Ball paradigm strings are
that first demo of the Bugera amp was so warm and lovely, i really enjoyed listening to it
I liked the Marshall's clean sound more :s
Dude I really like the tone from that record player amp. Ive been aware of your channel for a while and just started getting into it. And I really like that you know the science of music and am learning alot plus I like how innovative you are.

CSGuitars, how to soundproof a basement on a budget for band practice volume?
Egg boxes are known for being "The poor mans sound insulator"
Fonjatura +1 Such video would really help alot!
Egg boxes are useless. They do nothing.
216trixie too right. Plus they are ugly and a fire Hazzard.
I have been having a Bugera 1990 since 2010. I knew about the reputation for reliability issues, but I also knew that they sounded really good for the price you paid. I was willing to take a chance, since I am an electronics tech by trade and I was confident that I could fix any issue myself.

Can you please do a Pedal collection video?
I had a Bugera 333 non infinium and I honestly loved it. I thought it sounded great. I sold it to fund something else but I may end up with another one in the future.
no joke at all. ive played a gig with the blackstar fly3. i jammed with a guy for a party of maybe 40 people and people said it sounded great. the other guy was running a fender acoustic and microphone amp at fairly good volume and it had no problem being haired.
Doood... I think that Marshall has some great cleans. That was the best sounding tone on this video. Keep up the vids man!!!!!
That record player thing has a real cool lo-fi distant clean tone.
From Carluke I used to do all pre internet music gear shopping in Magnum Sound Wishaw. The POA tags on everything.
the cataPulp into the Hacker is a really neat dark sound
The thing I love about Bugera, they don't even try to pretend they aren't copying anyone and even blatantly put it in your face who. the Bugera 6262 is obviously a 5150/6505 copy, the Trirec is obviously a Triple Rectifier copy (it's in the name for fuck's sake) and a lot of classic Marshall's like the Plexi and the JCM800 don't get spared in their line-up as well.
That record player amp is the tits! Awesome warm and creamy tones. I love seeing that kind of innovation. I'm pretty late seeing this video, but kick-ass!!
It would be great to see a 2021 update to this, I know I've seen different amps in your most recent videos.
have you tried adding a speaker out to the little blackstar? I did that with my 3 watt vox of the same style and it really makes the higher gain sounds more tolerable.
I swear, except for high end orange, deizel, and mesa boogie, bugera amps sound like gold to me.
I would be interested to hear a bass played through that Record Player amp.
Sounds really good with a bass guitar actually, I forgot to mention that.
I agree. I have a Bugera v55 infinium head and since it's vintage based it gets greats cleans and although the gain isn't the best running a boss ds-1 through a clean channel gets a good gain sound. It's my first tube amp and I do think that for its price it's fucking amazing
I forgot to mention....I really want your Forbidden Planet movie poster!! LOVE that movie!!
My roommate and I just picked up a 333xl infinium for like $250. And it's gorgeous, it was a great buy
I cant wait any longer for the finale of will it shred? 😁
I think you undersold that 333 Infinium. I have a 333XL and it's my go to amp when I feel like trying to reign in the 100 watts.
I am one of those guys who experienced the the worst of Bugera first hand. When they first came out i worked at Sam Ash and we had 3 in a row go bad. I swore off them, but i've been told i need to give them a second chance. I'll check them out when the opportunity presents itself.
like the beer straplock
Is was very impressed with the bugera T-50 infinium, running it through 2x12 vintage 30's and the sound is just excellent for the price point, not very metal, but workable with the help of pedals. Great for anything that needs less gain, sparkly cleans.
No Shit! That little Marshall sounds pretty good. I'm pleasantly surprised. I thought it was a novelty item.
Is that riff at 9:20 a song or just a kickass piece of improv ?
That's just what I play when I'm trying to give an example of thrash
That record player amp is cool as hell....I love plugging in to weird stuff...I've been playing through a technics tape deck and the pre amp actually breaks up in a cool nin kinda way
That Hacker is super clean. Hard to find that because ultimately guitar amps break up and are designed that way.
I'd really love to hear that converted record player amp with a bass running through it. It sounds like an old valve bass head I had some years ago.
the info about the 333 is very helpful. always wondered about Bugera, in general. looked at the G5 infinium for a while
I bought a Bugera based on this channel.
Do a video on what to look for in potential tubes going bad in an amp
The Kraken looks cool. You should get that.
Love the idea of using a record player amp. Love pedal platform amps.
But will it Shred?

Colin, what's up! I know you've professed your hate of active pups in the past, but have you ever thought of giving the fishman fluence a try? Videos on them seem very positive
Dude, your record-player-turned-amp could be your signature custom amp; perhaps you may consider obtaining patent for it
Please make this real!
I loved that clean tone!
T_T
The cabinets I'm guessing are the one that came with the Marshall MG, the one that came with the Orange Microdark, and the Laney IRT2x12?
Sorry, forgot to mention that everything is going through the Laney IRT212 for sake of consistency, apart from the Blackstar Fly3 where you are hearing its own internal 3" speaker.

a little off-topic, as a bassist I love my Hybrid State Bugera BVP5500. Beats my Trace Elliott and Peavey bass amps hands down!
Would you consider building your own amp Colin ?
I would certainly consider it, and it seems to be a fairly popular request these days. I may look into some kit amps and perhaps even designing part of the circuit myself.
Good stuff, look forward to that content mate!!
Can you make collection video of all your power cables for your amplifiers? Thanks you.
I really like the orange
I had the same infinium as you do but unfortunately it had some problems and i sent it into warranty to be fixed and i think they just forgot about it cause it took 6 months for it to come back. Bugera V22, love it.
It would be awesome to see you build, and maybe mod some DIY pedals =)
also, is it just me that think the micro dark sounds really great?
remember watching this 4 years ago and thinking; i wish i had such cool amps,
now im re-watching surrounded by amps... #win
It's unfortunate that the Bugera 333 Infinium doesn't have a presence knob, because I feel that it has too much by default (IMO). I own and enjoy my 333XL Infinium and dial almost all of the presence out or else it gets fizzy.

In this video you said something about waiting for valves to warm up. But didn't you mention in another video that that is a myth?
+MattressCactus valves need to warm up, but they don't need to be in 'standby' to do so. Standby is the myth.
Ok, I got ya. Thanks!
With the Bugera you talked about caring for your valve amps. As a beginner who owns a Peavey Valveking (and a Valve Jr. soon) I am pretty ignorant. Could you possibly do a video about this?
I agree, we need a video on how to care for your tube amp and some sings that your amp is about to give out
Hears "might be ideal for people in student accommodations where you can't make too much noise," *I look over at my 18 watt marshall clone.* oops...

The Suhr Badgers are fucking beasts dude, One of the best bands I ever saw live was a small stoner rock band from Virginia that came up here and I couldn't believe the tone.
Is there any danger in running an amp's pre amp on full? I know that power amp tubes will break like that, but the signal going in is much hotter.
what kind of mullard did you use in the orange? loved the sound! the gain was much more smooth and not so fizzy! I still have the stock tube in mine because I havent decided on what to get yet!
I was kinda curious about how the Marshall micro stack's cabinets sounded... not just the top.
+Erwin Dokter the whole unit has a dedicated video on my channel.
Completely missed that!
What's the difference between the orange micro terror and the orange micro dark?
it's fumny when you said 'maybe I'll get a new amp soon' I was thinking I wonder if the Kraken's on his mind and then there was the clip, what's the chances
I wanna buy a Micro dark from Orange but I dont know what type of cab to buy with it
gamer7138 depends on the type of music you play
+callum nicholson I also would like to know what cab to get I play hard rock/metal I'm really all over the place when it comes to what I play
Logan Munoz If you have the money, buy a mesa rectifier 112, amazing cab for all genres. If you cant spend that much, go for an evh 5150 112 they are also very nice
Thats the thing I play Clean Rock and hard rock and sometimes metal so I'm clueless
gamer7138 get a mesa if you can afford it, best cabs out there
Could you please make a video on how did you transform that stereo amp into a guitar amp head?
You should review the EVH lbx 2s
What do you think of the bugera trirec?
Pedal collection plz
6:28 *Gibson sweats nervously*
I have the same bugera head and I wished I never bought it. I got it brand new player it for about a year with no problems, but now I can only play on it for about an hour before it completely cuts off and switches to the clean channel. My bugera failed me.
isnt the Infinium a clone of a Triple Rectifier ?
Magnum sound 🙏
The Blackstar sounds the best 😂
What happened to the old Marshall Valvestate Combo?
Sold it on. I had only been using it as a cabinet for a long time, but after acquiring the Laney IRT212 I simply had no need of it. Lovely amp, but superfluous to my needs.
Ok I understand. What do you think is the better better hybrid amp for practice purpose? micro terror or an (old) Marshall valvestate?
You'll get more versatility from the Valvestate, but the Terrors are nice for their portability and size. Quite a different sound between them too.
I'd probably opt for the Valvestate if I were to only have one. Terrors are a nice addition.
Thank you for your tips and quick responses.
Btw: Could you do a video where you read a story or something? I really like accent it's so cool and kind of relaxing, would be really nice to hear stories told with your voice!
I like that idea, perhaps something I can do for my second channel: ruclips.net/channel/UCPsbkK14uBcacGjL71gc4Yw
My amp needs a reverb pedal. It's a Crate 150 Power Block. The only thing it has is a high gain for distortion. I don't have much $$ because I"m a retired Vietnam vet on a limited income. What would you suggest for a good reverb pedal to put into the effects loop?
i would much rather have one good amp...
These are gathered over time though. It's rarely seen that a new guitar player are gonna buy an expensive amp.
One small "practice" solid state and your main "serious" high wattage amp sounds good.
Uuuu a reply! Don't get me wrong, the Bugera does everything most will ever need and at an amazing price. Keep up the good work!
It really sucks though.
what model Laney cab do you have?
that chord progression, RHCP?
My first amp was a ibenez
