So glad you did a 2CV video review! My first car was a two-tone grey 2CV Charleston. Loved that car from 17 to 19 but then wanted something a bit quicker so got a '72 Beetle 1302S

Love the story! I've always been a fan of the 2cv, had them around me from a younger age and really appreciate their simplicity. Awesome first car too 👌

Great car, I had a Dolly for a few years in the 80s which was perfect in every way as a student. Loved the front flip up windows, the pull gears and the roll roof for sunny days. Not to mention the cheap maintenance.

Thanks for sharing, I bet that was great fun! Love the 2cv, they will always be cool in my mind, even if just down to their simplicity.

The 2CV and its succes shows the way the French used to see automotion. The german VW was designed to be driven on the new autobahn network, serviced in modern garages. The 2CV was designed to be driven on the existing (bad) rural roads of France. Everything was simplified in order to avoid often servicing and when needed the service and repairs could be done by the owner with few tools and no garage.
You can even remove the engine by hand. Nevertheless the 3l/100km goal was never reached on production vehicles : the proptotypes were build in aluminium to gain weight, but after WW2 aluminium was scarce and the commercial models were all made in steel except for the engine who was cast in aluminium like sports cars engines.

Good video, just a little advice from a viewer (with very little RUclips experience) take whatever is out of your pockets :) Other than that great :) they are very fun to drive so quirky :)
