I started this journey on the corvette last night and I just found this video -- im so glad because I am so invested in this story now.
Watching in November 2022, this car is why I started watching Cleetus. Hearing the story of how Ruby got her name brought tears to my eyes. I'm glad you guys stuck with the name.
Vette with a truck motor that got hit by lightning. Name it Thunder Struck, or Thunder sTruck.

Guy totally conned Carmax no way he said anything about that motor being swapped out. He told them it was car with x, y, and z upgraded.

At 4:15 when Cleetus says "No Way! So the jack stand to concrete just grounded that sucker out?" The blank look on the previous owner's face tell us that he has absolutely zero idea how electricity works.

If a lightning travels kilometers/miles in the open air, do you think 5 cm/few inches of rubber (i.e. a tire) makes any difference in the insulation? No, it doesn’t. So if a lightning is going to strike your car, it will do it - whether you have in on tires or on jackstands.
Due to Faraday cage/effect, it’s better to stay inside a car than in the open air, if it’s thundering, but also in this one needs to remember not to touch any metal parts/frame.
But it was also nice that you told us that neither you have too much idea of electricity.

Rubber doesn't protect the electrical system from damage. You don't know how it works lol It's a myth that a simple google search can fix. The metal frame acts as a faraday cage which protects it for the most part, not the tires.

Well, he didn't lied, a different motor can be anything in between a Lambo V12 and a lawnmower 1 cylinder. Guys at Carmax are expected to have some knowledge in order to inspect and deal with sellers, but even the average dude would reply "well, what motor does it have, then?". He said how things were, but the goal of a seller is to make as much money as possible. If they were complete morons at negotiating and just accepted an unknown engine, their fault only.

Most engines have a casting number (engine code) and they are not hard to find. Soo, I wouldn't blame the owner if I didnt fully inspect the vehicle. *There is casting numbers for heads as well.
