Found REMOTE Island Loaded with Fish! Catch n cook (California Deep Sea Fishing)

- This is the last video from our trip to Southern California. We went offshore with Fin Fetish Charters on an overnight deep sea fishing trip to fish the channel islands off the California Coast. Our goal was to target as many species as possible and we did just that. We caught sheepshead, white fish, rockfish, yellowtail and others! We primarily used live squid as bait and fished the bottom. I made citrus miso broiled yellowtail for dinner and it came out great! Thanks for watching!

Victor always pulls out at the perfect time. I’m talking about the fish
I've been watching for the last few years and I'm so impressed with Viktor's cooking and to see him grow his skills from the early days until now; It's been great to see someone so passionate and wanting to learn and improve constantly, loving the content, keep up the great work!
He needs to open a High end Restaurant!!!
Thanks Johnny it means a lot to read comments like this!
@@LandsharkOutdoors I agree! My husband and I love to watch your recipes but wish you would post them in a convenient way. You need to set up a website and have a section with all your amazing recipes!!
@@annaliseburrough2425 Having the recipes in the comments would be helpful. Sometimes I open up a document on my computer and make notes as I watch the video.
@@LandsharkOutdoors Victor! I think its time for you to get your own signature chefs Apron!! You are certified and renowned so you mind as well have the look as well!! Lol
Pops is the ultimate hype man.
Barracuda Brian!
Brookes dad needs to start a Chanel and do food reviews. I would so watch that.
He should have been a food critic haha
The only problem is that I don't think he could ever say anything bad about someone.
@@scottkinnebrew7924 yeah true. But if the chefs name is not victor he will find a way
Sign me up, seems like a cool dude

I'm so happy that you did this episode in Southern California. The fishing is excellent here also and your yellowtail recipe looks over the top. I hope that you can visit again soon because the Bluefin are really biting great.
Great trip Vik! It’s awesome to see you go fishing with fans. The next time you come to Cape Cod, I’d love to take you out tuna fishing!
Fabulous video! What a great trip and the variety of fish caught was amazing. I applaud your reference to your Slovakian heritage and using your culinary skills to preserve your ancestry. Our country is made up of many great cultures. Mine is Hungarian and our leader in Hungary is working hard to maintain our unique Magyar heritage.
Hahaha Brookes dad is by far my favorite person to hear from 😂
Great to see you made it to Cali. One day I would love to fish Florida. Hope to meet you all along with DMFD and Blue Gabe.
Just a wonderful video, the dinner prep outstanding, and the family presence at dinner is outstanding!
Happy to share it with you all!
Vick I really loved the video ! Usually I watch for the fishing , but your cooking has really got me hooked , great job !
Thanks for watching! Happy to hear you enjoyed!
I love fishing, my favorite outdoor activity, wish I could go on a trip like that too, looks like you had a great time 👍
Thought I was the only one that watched you but strangers at the bar loved your cooking and went on about trash fish thanks for all you do!
Hahahahhaha very fitting music in the back! Listening to ‘Hotel California’ while fishing fishing in Southern California 👌👌👌
your way of cooking veggie is the closest approach to real Asian home veggie cooking on RUclips, well done
Awesome video! I’m gonna have to try that yellowtail recipe. If you brought back the yellowtail collars, you must try them BBQed. Definitely the best part of the fish, along with belly meat. It’s considered a delicacy in Japan and highly desired among fishermen here in CA. You can find them at Asian grocery stores too. They are called Hamachi Kama.
Glad you guys enjoyed my back yard. You reminded me how awesome this place is.
I'm so spoiled
Thanks guys
Thanks for watching!
Your videos are the best !
Your cooking skills are on point !
...I look forward to your posts...keep up the great work vic !
Thank you Pete!
Always the best videos. I Like when the whole gang is together 👍🏻. Thanks
cool info in the cali sheepshead. More complex even than the way snook change. Pretty interesting.
There's also a fresh water sheep head you can catch on the Mississippi in the Midwest. It's generally considered a trash fish so it's always interesting to see these videos!
Yea they have sheepshead on lake Champlain in VT.. they also keep the temple bones from them too
What I like is in the corner of the stone Cafe Bustelo Bustelo good to the last drop
Every time we got trips like this, the first thing I look forward to is cafe bustello at home haha
Vic, I love your channel the most concerning catch clean and cooking.
Love The Fish Tacos , really enjoy the meals you cook You know what a blast to go fishing and freeze them and have plenty to eat for free
“Oh, another one of those orange things” haha epic trip y’all! Looked like a blast
Hahaha so many of those rockfish look identical
@@LandsharkOutdoors they really do. Just nice sometimes to see different species of fish out of the norm
Nice fishing spot , fun boat, and you
Chef that fish out.i luv it
Awesome trip with the California dudes. Now I am hungry watching Vic cook👍
hahah thank you
Have you ever thought about doing a compilation video of all of your biggest catches from different species? I think it would be cool to watch
Chef Vik is In the house!!! Are you kidding me man that looks delicious!! When you get angry on how good the food is that’s when you know it’s good. 😂😂😂. Amazing fishing trip and amazing catch and cook recipe. Unreal man!!
Thanks Brotha!
Great day, great haul!

Just WOW! Looks amazing!
Victor, you have me SO impressed! 💯💙
That Male California Sheep's Head would be a really cool mount! Those colors would be super cool on a nice wall mount
You can see that brook( your fishing partner )and her family love you ! 🙌🏻👍🏻, and that they enjoy you and your dishes 😂, unfortunately my fishing partner passed away 🤦🏻♂️😢, we would always watch y’all 🥺, she enjoyed y’all’s sense of humor , I would come to see her and she would have her laptop with your newest video ready😩😢, man ..., love y’all channel for real ! Keep goin ! As always great video!🙌🏻
Victor, you are a chef! Plus a great teacher
Wow that's a solid day of fishing. And an elite crew even down to the gaftman didn't mess around just yoink on the boat no screwing around.NICE!
Man I was just watching Brooks Video! Lobsters look great and loved the family teamwork!
Bro!!!
Your cooking execution beat the fishing part. What an amazing dish for yellowtail, world class. Well said by Brook keep up the great work it inspires us all.
Stoked for the next one dude
PS Dam big Vik is looking swole!💖
Thanks brotha! Can't wait to crush some fish and del taco with you in October
Haha and Del Taco 🌮 😂😂
Hey Vic you are working your way to opening up a fine seafood restaurant! I would stop by and order a meal for my bucket list.
Hey what’s up! I’ve been watching your channel for at least 3 years and I haven’t fished since I was maybe 12 and even then it was only at the local lake or something. I also really don’t eat fish 😂😅 (my wife makes some salmon from time to time but drowned in like a sweet teriyaki type sauce because that’s how I like it) but your catch and cooks have always been some of my favorites to watch. My neighbor just brought me some yellow tail vacuum sealed and frozen and I haven’t stopped thinking about all the possibilities! Your family and friends reactions to this dish really makes me want to try this but I’m also no chef…like at all…I can make some eggs and sandwiches and have in past made a cheesecake and lasagna from recipes but that’s about it so I think this one is def out of my wheel house. What would be a simple easy but amazingly tasty recipe you’d recommend I should try? I have 4 fillets and am about to exit a 7 day water only fast and would love to have this yellow tail. Thanks for making these awesome videos and showcasing what’s possible.
Great vid bro you’re a hell of a chef and fisherman! Next level stuff
Thank you!
Great video Vik. Those Cali fellas are really cool.
Thanks for watching!
I'm happy to see the Hawaiian shaka sign for hang loose spreading from California to Florida. Means everyone can be friends when fishing. Tight lines
Positive vibes only!
What a wonderful channel. Love it!
Looks delicious victor I love watching you fish and cook you go above and beyond..just wish I were thair to try it 😆 🤣 😂 💙
Another banger! Good vid vic. My son said the next time your in CT In the New London area to let us know. He will like to meet you guys.

Thanks for Watching!
Sassafras! Lol love it!
Viktor, your meal looks amazing❣️❣️My mouth is watering!!
Thank you!
The yellow tails are huge enjoy 💪🏾💪🏾🇯🇲❤️
Nice video Victor. All those fish you caught, I have caught them too. I live here in southern CALIFORNIA. So delicious! Your kitchen skills are top notch. But maybe your next adventure in Cali should be the Cali Bluefin tuna and Yellowfin tuna. Or maybe up north to San Francisco for king salmon. Anyway great video. Take care. We down in Cali.
I can't believe you cook up all these Michelin Stars grade dishes. Bravo!
First, I look forward to the technique and and presentation. Second, I look forward to what that meat going to look like. Third, I'm like okay, what's Victor going to cook up for the family this time. Fourth, I get tears in my eyes watching all the responses and family comrodery. Having said that, maybe one of these days you can go back and catch one of those halibuts.
Were going back in October! Thanks for the kind words Adam. I'm only in this lucky position bc of positive supporters like you so thank you!
@@LandsharkOutdoors Can't wait to see it, I'm sure it will be epic. In the mean time keep them coming.
California Sheepheads, Hogfish and Tautog (blackfish) are all closely related wrasse species. The east coast convict sheepsheads are in the Porgy family.
ahhh thanks for the clarification!
@@LandsharkOutdoors Google Asian Sheephead Wrasse for a truly gnarly looking fish
One of your best vids yet!
Presentation is on POINT!
You should do a give away.... Call it "cook with Vic" you set the terms... Take em fishing and cook what you catch.... Wish I could double like this vid.... RUclips fix it! Great video guys👌
That would be a great way to give back too!
Phenomenal food prep!
Have a fantastic trip Vic
Thanks for watching!
Now this is cool! I live in Los Angeles and will definitely look up these guys.
⚓️🤙🏽
I loved the video. Thank you.
love the catch and cook your content is amazing to watch! what size bucktail jigs were you using?
I agree with pops how could you go eat fish at a restaurant after the recipes Victor is putting together. Yes inspired!!!
Thank you for the kind words!
Keep them coming victer!
Will do!
That’s what I’m talking about Vic this is what I grew up on living and fishing in the west coast specifically Southern California in or at Catalina Clemente anacapa Santa Cruz to San Miguel just amazing fishery
Now you have to make it complete and go to San Diego and cross over to Mexico please add to bucket list it’s a must love the content ur amazing kiddo you and brook man ur a lucky Man U actually get paid to enjoy what you love with ur love ones what more can you ask for right
God is good bro
Have a blessed day
Thank you so much!!!
Victor: Dumps olive oil, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and soy sauce on the vegetables
Also Victor: "And you just let the vegetables speak for themselves you know don't dress them up that much they have a lot of flavor."
lol well it was a minimal amount
@@LandsharkOutdoors In Chinese cooking, carrots go in first to let the oil extract the beta carotene, then garlic and ginger when you smell the garlic, put in onion and broccoli. You were right about the last veg, but again, the stern could be put in with onion earlier.
Also Sesame oil is for dressing not cooking. The amount of soy sauce is rediculous
Great video and Victor, the food looked so good. Personally I’m from S California and have eaten Y-tail many times. We don’t enjoy it baked, only raw or pan seared like you did. The color looked so much like Y-fin when you cut into it after searing. Well Done
Great fish BUT was looking forward to you guys trying surf perch n maybe corbina... Good job
Awesome video
Hi friend ! Great video, really enjoyed and definitely worth special value
Thanks for watching!
Those sheep head look like our Tautog in the Mid-Atlantic. They are a type of wrasse as well. Fantastic eating.
Great haul!!!
Fin Fetish gets bit!
Victor you are a LEGEND!
Thank you !
Started watching for the fishing now i come for the cooking lol

I am a big fan. Love to fish the Indian river, chickoloskee and flamingo.
Hell ya man! Good stuff. Home town. Southern Cali!

My son and I are heading there Friday night to fish there Saturday. But can’t wait to take him to Florida and fish
Ohhh yuhhhhhh. Banger
Thanks for watching!
SICK ! You are nothing more than Slaughter dudes
Vic is a wonderful man and chef
I take Florida fishing any day over Cali fishing lol no drag screaming out there lol cool video though! Love the content! Keep up the good work man
I'll take Florida for the diversity, but Cali for the weather haha
Big fan man
Those sheepshead are so beautiful over there!!! The males look wrasse-like with the big bump in head.(oops just watched the part in the video where Brooke said their in the wrasse family so that explains it!)
You are blessed!
“Is that a real fish”
“I hope so, it seems real” 🤣
Im sure in the near future we are going to see Victor owning a top gourmet sea food restaurant !!!
That presentation... Wow.
Please cook skulpin sometime. It is my favorite fish!
When are you coming to gulf coast again? You have a couple videos Ana Maria/ long boat key area. I would love to meet you next time you’re down
