Something for sure. It has to be. 3 consecutive games of Darnold and the Vikings balling out against good teams. Vikings are legit. Sam Darnold is legit. I gotta eat my crow, Julian. I was very wrong about this guy. I thought he was garbage lol, but he's far from it. He's a legitimately good QB that still has upside to be great
Skol! That dude is right. He was actually decent at Panthers in a very bad team, and was throwing the ball as well then as he is now - but his WRs are much better here, and KOC gets them open, and the O Line gives them enough time.
This was a fantastic win for the Vikings. It's a win-win for the coaching. O'Connell gets to go into the locker room and act like they lost because they almost blew the game but they still remain undefeated. No complacency will set in.
Wouldn't say complacent. Refs screwed the momentum on that BS INT, but Pac had that legit fumble and put the defense on a short field, the D caused 2 more turnovers and then the Refs screwed MN on that 4th and 1....
I'm absolutely with you on the eye roll. These guys are just so desperate to have their original opinions validated. But they are so wrong, and now their logic is backwards. Darnold has only been with KOC for about 4 months, and only played 4 games, mostly without half of his weapons. Darnold should get better as the playbook becomes more instinctive, and his confidence grows with his new team mates. And there are 10-12 new players in the Vikes defensive rotation - players that largely didn't even know each other 4 months ago, or the Vikes incumbents, or the Flores scheme. They should just get better from week to week as they build trust and combinations with each other. I'd argue what we're seeing now is the Vikes floor, not the ceiling. With an overhyped and impotent Jets on the schedule this week, and the whole bye to prep for the Lions at home, followed by 6 or 7 games against teams with poor records - the NFC North could be over before the Vikes see the Packers or Lions again. The way their schedule looks right now, all things being equal, this team might not lose until week 18, when they'd probably bench the starters after a quarter like the 49ers did last season.
They are praying he has a bad game so they can say they were right. Nick Wright, especially, hates being wrong. Stephen A at least has admitted he may be wrong about Darnold.

Vikings are the real deal. After Green Bay cut the lead to 6, I was confident the Vikings would drive down and make it a 2 score game. I've never before felt that way.
I noticed another growth point along with going down with the odd handoff. He threw the ball away in the redzone knowing he didnt have an open player, and instead of taking a chance and possibly throwing a pick, dropping a funble on a strip sack. 22-28 and we needed a FG to get to 2 possessions, and he threw it away right away. 100% believe that was an intentiional 500IQ play.

In the days of 'hot takes', everyone has to stay with it - whether it's right or wrong. I go back to the late 80s as a fan. This team reminds me somewhat of 1998, but with a better defense. If they use the 2nd half of the GB game as a catalyst to lock in, they can achieve some great things. The challenge will be to stay locked in when they play opponents they are favored to win against down the road on the schedule.

I think the Vikes could put a Bills vs Jags level beating on the Jets in London. The Jets might be worse than the Giants, and with Sam now 5 weeks in, with Addison back, facing the team that did him dirty, and the defence likely at full strength, and coming off a little wake up call, things could get ugly. Sam might effectively end Rodgers career, and Saleh's tenure as Jets HC. I'm not sure what excuse these dudes could come up with if the Vikes lay a 20 or 30 point beat down on the Jets this weekend. It's not unreasonable to expect Darnold to start playing bad again like he always has in the past. Darnold has had 3 game stretches early in the season with good QB play in the past, which is what he has done this year, he played well the first 3 weeks and then played poorly in week 4 but the team won despite it. Darnold needs a bigger sample size of actually playing well.

Hey Nick Wright it’s really hard to admit you were wrong. Maybe change your name to Nick Wrong? Just do a Stephen A and swallow your pride?
But Golff just went 18/18.
And?
You can clearly didn’t watch the game. Down 2 of the best defensive players, love clearly injured and our kicker missed three fg 😂 I will say Vikings look really good but I’m betting big they lose the next meet up if we are fully healthy
I watched the entire game.
You have favorable and competitive insight, but you talk too much
I watched the Jettas piss missle at .05% speed and noticed only then that Darnold used a portal gun to phase the ball through the defender. I didn’t even know that was legal.
I saw the 3rd angle on TV where as the ball was reaching Jettas, the defender was turning his head just as the ball was going past his shoulder right into Jettas chest.
That was a friggin' DOT right on the money by Sam.
👍👍
You need to calm down were you even alive in 1998 ? One of the best teams I ever saw. I love the Vikes but we are cursed or something that's why we are on pumpkin watch bro.
I'll be honest, pretty happy you think I'm not even 26 years old.
“Stop” Lol - 4 good games doesn’t erase 6 years of shit. Stop acting like you think Darnold is all the sudden legit. Give me a break.
Sure
@@JWLSports pumpkin watch
None of this had anything to do with nick. Just you talking
There just waiting for Sam to have a bad game just to say I told ya so
Vikings will have a bad game or 2 this season, but that’s the only way they’ll lose. There’s no team in the NFL that is better than them, and don’t say KC because they’re not.
Completlae greee, which goes to prove ,that most organizations ruin guys coming out if college, with shitt coaches, that, r unworthy an call a gyy a bust, instead of helping him grow they r crappy teachers...al of a sudden sam knows how ro play ir now he got real nfkr who can coach .fighton
Rly
don't be mad when they don't win it all
Love would be a pumpkin watch with 3 picks and 2 4th down turnovers. 😅😅
SKOL, nick right isn't right about anything, forget him, what a punk
Apart from the first three weeks Vikings have a dumb stupid schedule lol. I’ll say they make divisional or NFC championship, and fall. They’ll essentially pull what Ravens did last year. Next year possible chance at Super Bowl. Too many NFC teams have to do moving around and building next year
I say they make the NFC Championship and WIN. Don't know what happens in the SB but I think they break through unlike the Case Keenum season and go to the SuperBowl.
for one packers lost that game gave it away packers were without top 2 starting corners alexander and valintine and packers cant get a decent kicker he missed 3 from inside 40 yards make one of those and packers win plus love had 3 pics and wilson had a fumble cant win games with 4 turnovers you clearly didnt watch the game
This dude need to stop talking
It's not unreasonable to expect Darnold to start playing bad again like he always has in the past. Darnold has had 3 game stretches early in the season with good QB play in the past, which is what he has done this year, he played well the first 3 weeks and then played poorly in week 4 but the team won despite it. Darnold needs a bigger sample size of actually playing well.
Spoiler Alert, Jaden Daniels is pretty close to perfect.
He’s been great against some meh defenses. If he keeps up this crazy pace against better defenses, then the hype is legit.
His team isn't. Also his QBR isn't.
You know whose team is? You know whose QBR is?
Sam Darnold.
Darnold is 100% on pumpkin watch. History tells u everything u need to kno, not only about darnold, but the Vikings in general. Mark my words. It’s week 4. Pump ur breaks 😂
Nope, crap take…. Three of the four coaches he had to start with the Jets 2 head coaches and 2 offensive coordinators are out of the NFL. Carolina had both Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold on their roster and both are doing great now that they’re off that team.
Situation matters. Wake up and quit parroting shit takes.
@@franknorth164 yea yea yea keep glazing someone who has done less then nothing since the joined the league. It’ll just make it that much funnier when u see him come back to reality.
@@LitoDaKidd05name a single team who is playing better. Can’t do it. 🤷🏼♂️
@@tj72190 ravens. Well that was easy. And plz don’t bring up the record cause if u watch football we both know what’s up. But have them play the Vikings right now and Derrick Henry and Lamar absolutely destroy u
@@tj72190 also ill take the chiefs and, hot take here, but ill take the commanders right now over the Vikings.
these guys are just bandwagoneers lol
They are not a great team they haven’t done anything to be a great team have they played good yes but with this same team and defense what was they record just last year and I would still choose Kirk over Sam so show down on Great
4 different qbs last year
@@Mr.TDLSR22 you right Kirk went down my bad
You sound dumb this is not the same team as last year
Are you still upset they didn't break the bank for Kirk?
@@oel734 who me? I never was lol
Packers were 2 missed fields goals from winning
If you give them the two missed field goals you change the strategy of the opposing team. It doesn’t work that way.
@@michaelehlert9 and so would the strategy of the team that missed instead of made
Yeah and if Nailor didn’t muff that punt, and the interception that wasn’t, and the bad spot on 4th and less than 1 ,and Sam didn’t get blindsided. Vikes win by 3 touchdowns
@@sandyborzillo8595 Sam darnold is still ass first round exit went up against the CB3 and Jefferson only got 85, reed smoked yall
@@ricks2303Salty Cheese tastes so good!
Jets…crap. He should had followed Elways example. Dont agree to work for crap orgaizations. All these talking heads are easterners or work for companies that are east based…homers! Couldnt be NY is trash and hurt Sam😨
Elway had a first round draft pick from the Yankees in his pocket . He said if you draft me I will be playing SS for the Yankees . Joe Mauer had that leverage with the Twins . He got top dollar because he had that scholarship from FSU to play QB in his pocket
Nick Wright is a clown
Sam darnold is decent but it’s 4 games history shows us he will fold but he can prove otherwise and Vikings deserve respect for their start but again it’s 4 games time will tell if they are great
lol history does not show us that. He’s with a completely different team with different players and a different skill set.
@@JWLSportsthat’s true but benefit of the doubt isn’t there til he does on consistent basis again I think he’s decent but he’s playing elite I think he will come do to earth at some point that will tell Vikings deserve their respect tho
What history ? In New York as a twenty year old kid ? Sam is younger than Josh Allen , Joe Burrow etc..... ya know ? All the weapons he has in Minnesota and an ex NFL QB head coach tells me maybe is in a good situation to succeed finally and is coming of age . The dude was unbelievable at USC and was high on everybody's draft board for a reason . Big strong armed gunslinger that can run . I hope he resurrects his career if not with the Vikings somebody else .
@@seikousawaneh4814 "benefit of the doubt isn’t there"
>>> Sam Darnold doesn't need your "benefit of the doubt" or your approval. The only thing he needs (and is getting) is the support of his head coach and team.
