I enjoy listening to your reflections on the traditional high school system. From what I have heard I think this is still pretty much the practice in France and some students such as students with dyslexia for example have suffered because of it. I think you are a good motivator for people who were labelled or labelled themselves negatively in terms of language learning in school. I know that Alex from French in Plain Sight attended a language school in Paris which he dropped out of because he did not find the teaching methods effective. That is what motivated him to become a coach and to start his youtube channel which offers an alternative and much more efficient way of learning. Personally I adored school and was always self and other labelled as "good at French"; mainly I think because at the time I had a good accent as we learned from videos made by native French speakers. I think it may be possible to learn the basics of a language in 6 months and if you previously had a negative self concept, it's a good idea to reprogramme yourself and to start believing in your own possibility to succeed. Personally I don't have that problem though. I follow a variety of online programmes and I benefit from all of them. I know that I will never be fluent but I am always learning and thoroughly enjoy learning French as a hobby and in order maybe at some point to spend some time there.

Thanks for that ! Definitely, we must keep believing in ourselves!
Well... Damn! There's one benefit of being 72! I can barely remember high school! So no worries!
I love this !
