    I like that you do a foundation base of double crochets instead of a foundation row of chains. It is much neater the way you do it. Thank you for sharing.

    I love the colors you are using. It really helps to use different colors to show how the pattern will be when finished. I used this pattern to make dresses for doll that cover air freshener cans and toilet tissue covers. It's one of my favorites to crochet.

    Excellent illustration, thank you so much! If I didn't change colors and just went back and forth , rather than starting on the same end each time, it wouldn't have a front and back look, but I'd follow the same instructions, would it work OK?

    • @sarahpotter1674
      @sarahpotter1674 3 года назад

      I’m trying to do this too, but I think maybe if you alternated the back loop stitch and front loop stitch, you might have a front and back pattern

    • @branchen6299
      @branchen6299 3 года назад

      It has been a while since I've done one, so hope I can get this across clearly. You will need a base row all the way around first. In a corner stitch, slip stich, then single crochet (3x's) in corner stitch, then single crochet down side, and, again 3 single crochets in (each) corner. The scalloped ends are in 5's, so you should be able to chain 2, then connect, then chain 2, connect, all the way across. On the dips, I would suggest a double crochet to connect, and on the peaks, you can probably slip stitch. When you get all the way around, slip stitch to to top of first single crochet, chain 2 (this counts as first double crochet), then in very corner stitch, do a treble crochet AND a double crochet...do this in every corner (3 stitches..double/treble/double). This provides rounded corners, and gives less tension on the sides.
      How you want to do the second row will be up to you. If you want flat edges, you could double crochet all the way around. If you want scalloped edges all around, just follow her scalloped pattern. The sides aren't as clear cut, but you can usually get them to work out okay. Hope this helps. If you have any questions, let me know.

      Hey, hope you don't mind my chiming in, I recommend a border where you hold them all and crochet over top of them. This is great for hiding edges that aren't perfectly straight as well. Start with a first row of single crochet. Hope that helps!
