I’ll send you some screed hooks that go on a metal stake and then holds a 2x4 so you can wet screed on one end and take them out as you go so you don’t have to do that filling in dance! So much easier, but that slab looks nice!
Questions for you Matt, I’m just wondering why the entire slab foundation couldn’t be poured in 1 shot? How come the stem wall was poured first and then the foundation slab floor second? Great channel, keep bangin!
Man, I cannot believe it's this tight either. He fought to get his setback to 1' on those popouts and I think it's only pulled off because it's a staircase, rather than living space? I have no idea.. They pushed back hard and finally got the OK on it.
Concrete is definitely is not your forte, but that’s ok, just stick to what you know and excel at it and you’ll always be successful. 25 years ago an old wise man once said to me “Do you want to be a carpenter or a business man? pick one because you can’t do both”. I blew off that advice, but he was absolutely right and I learned the hard way. I was trying to do it all like you are now. Just friendly advice!
I am a great video one thing I’ve learned I’m only 35 is the night before always put out cones and caution tape in the area that you will need for the pump truck. I didn’t do it the night before costly mistake my fault. 😖
New sub - just catching up on The Ridge series. In episode #1, you guys were using an orange driver bit at about the 17:30 mark. What's the source for that? Bang on!
Are you gonna bring back the merch? I want one of those eat sleep frame repeat hoodies so bad haha. Also how do you like the dewalt rear handle saw over the makita rear handle?
Good to know! I'm definitely curious on how it'll hold up. I just bought the makita but when i was deciding which one I want to buy it was a toss up between the two. Sweet! I can't wait for the merch drop lol.
@@MattBangsWood love to see you guys frame. I'm 13 and ''my'' house just went under roof and had shingles put on and windows installed. love the process of building a home!
@@jerry1769 at that point its stiff but not set. It's like raking a sand trap. You will leave tracks on the way in but take the rake or trowel, as it may be, and cover them on your way out.
Broke my twelveteenth and I’m tired of replacing them. I got a few Dewalt batteries so I figured I’d jump platforms. Paid $429 for the thing, wasn’t stoked on the price.. but the saw is great!
I can't believe that drone landed thru the boom... that was cool.
I didn’t know it happened until pumper told me, ‘that was pretty cool, you flew through the boom!’ 😂
Luv ur videos I'm in electrical u got me wanting to switch trades how do I become a apprentice for u guys surious question ❓❓⁉️

Ahhhhh ur a dream crusher .. looking forward to it not anymore thanks though keep up the good work
It’s concrete, waits for no one and I don’t have a film crew.. Sorry for the time lapse!
Framing starts tomorrow, get ready for framing class.. 😊
I'm here for that, too!
Eagerly waiting
Can’t wait
Matt you guys are bad asses love watching your builds you guys keep it up
I need to watch this again. Very satisfying.
Huge slab, I liked the division prep, great job.
Thanks Chuck
Impressively organized job.
Keep up the good work posting good content on a regular basis.
Thanks for not playing hard rock during time lapse. Nice job bull floating with all those things sticking up everywhere.
Mellower music > Harder rock? I have a hard time picking music, never know what the heck to put.

Great job...great pour! Another great video....
Looks bang on, Matt. I'd hire you for my shop build if you were on the east coast!
You make awesome videos! Thank you.

Yo...just got back from town...i live 100 miles from any big town north and south...glad your back...
Just about to sleep but then you uploaded 😂
Great job. Still following your channel hoping I can learn from it.
Nice work guys!
i like that way to level concrete 👍🏻👌🏻 nice
Good work Matt, lvl 99 construction yet? ;) Saw you in an rs livestream haha.
I hate the drone died but that was a freaking awesome shot as it fell.
I didn't notice any copper supply coming piping up thru walls. Did they block out with PVC?
Great job
Awesome vid! -- What is the double roller thing used on the concrete? Vaguely reminds me of a lawn aereator.
Parabéns mais um excelente vídeo Brasil Belo Horizonte seguindo vcs
So Great and Amazing Work

Love your videos mate. Just curious, I didn't see any vapour barrier under your slab. Is that not required in your area.

the back neighbour had a good interest
Family owns both, young fella that cruised out for a bit is the owner of the build we're doing. Fun entertainment!
Matt, you guys should get some sliders. Forget the funny trowel around pipes
QUESTION
How long (time) did it take to get from breaking ground to concrete pour?
Total length from breaking ground to final inspection?
The battery dying sure gave a special shot..good pour
I thought drone #6 was going down!
I haven't seen a jitter bug used in california in a long time
If it were up to me, you wouldn’t see one here, lol.
Are you gonna bring back the merch? I want one of those eat sleep frame repeat hoodies so bad haha. Also how do you like the dewalt rear handle saw over the makita rear handle?
Dewalt is heavier. Personally like the punch it packs. Long term, we'll see. For $400+, hoping it lasts longer.
Trying to get merch back up before the end of this project!

@@MattBangsWood yes those hoodies are dope

New saw vibe
How come your not using the vacant lot for the pumper and to store the lumber? You said you got permission.
That went downhill, unfortunately. I'm kind of glad it did as early as it did, would have turned big problems later on..
Why you do not add insulation at ouside wall and bellow main slab?
10mil vapor barrier below slab.
when do the framing videos start?
Hoping by end of week!
@@MattBangsWood love to see you guys frame. I'm 13 and ''my'' house just went under roof and had shingles put on and windows installed. love the process of building a home!
No insulation under the slab, no capilarity brake barrier, ?
10mil vapor barrier under slab. Bright yellow. 2” of sand, 10 mill, 2” of sand.
The flexvolt dewalt saw means business
I wonder why no vapor barrier under slab🤔
10mil under the whole slab. Can see a bit of the yellow around the edges.

Its to bad Mike Day Concrete is in Maine. He pours slab with just 3 of them.
Does that include both guys in the pump truck and mix truck?
How long after you pour concrete are you able to walk on it without leaving an imprint of your shoes?
We held off for 2 days before starting framing. Next day you can walk on it.
