You don't need a tail rotor. The purpose of the tail rotor is to counter the rotation. He could of use 2 main rotor spinning opposite direction. There are heli with no tail rotor and they works just fine.

Forget the spinning. The rotor is fixed, it would run into the ground upon takeoff like the early helicopters before swash plate was introduced. Though it seems the rotor is flat, so no lift at all. It's just a big vibrator.
