Are is your giveaway actually an ILLEGAL LOTTERY? 😬😰 In today’s video, I breakdown all the giveaway definitions (with examples) so that your giveaway stays in the clear!
Hey I tought if you gave the participents higher chance of winning for an exchange to sales or money it still counts as lottery. What you gotta say about that?
Can you do a social media comp where you ask for £1 to be donated to your crowdfunding page or are there any contests that are good at producing paid entry revenue & improving reach? I can see lotteries are ilegal but how do you go about doing them legally? Do you get a licence or something?? We've got a short break prize so just trying to find out. Kind regards and thank you for any help/advice :)
Be super careful and seek legal advice before running any giveaway. Even “free to enter” competitions and “sweepstakes”often require significant work to set up rules and documentation for entrants to have access to. The value is often not worth the effort in my experience.
Unlimited tags are still a sweepstakes. You just have to have one required method of entry that is available for everyone. Then you can have as many extra bonus entry methods as you want.
What would a giveaway that also has daily questions (guesses) to answer for an extra entry be called? is this still classified as a giveaway or a competition? Also i love your videos they are very informative, thank you so much for making videos x
hey! do you know if there are T&Cs needed for a Giveaway/Sweepstake in an IG Live? i.e. you ask people to request to join your life and the one selected receives a gift. Thanks upfront!
Forgive me for not using proper terminology, I'm new at this. Is it legal, in your opinion, to have existing followers to get non-followers to start following and then the new follower must leave a comment, tagging the existing follower, in order to have a chance to win a gift card. The more followers the existing follower gets to follow and comment/ tag them, the more chances they have to win. The winner will be chosen by scrolling thru the comments and randomly stopping. Not sure if I explained that properly but I hope you could follow my gibberish. Thank you so much for the video. It was very informative.
Be careful with your advice regarding the definition of consideration. You associate it with money in this video, but consideration can be anything of value (i.e., likes, comments, etc.) 🙂

Thank you for your detailed explanation, it's clear to me now!
Why are lotteries illegal for individuals but not for other companies
RIGHT??!!! WHAT KINDA BULLSHIT IS THAT?? Everything I want to do that I think is legal is illegal. I just want to make some money
I run a rescue and so many do raffles online non for profit.

raffles are illegal??!! I was going on here to learn how to do a raffle. 😕
Same lol smh
I don't think they're illegal in all states, but in many they are. As Morgan said, talk to your lawyer...
Same, I want to raffle off a car smh
How are raffles illegal when they have websites like raffle creator to do them for you?
All online raffle are illegal

I missed out. I'm not interested in the tawdry consolation, either. Leave me alone, now. I'm re-learning guitar. You're not invited...
