Air Layering Propagation Made Easy
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 17 июл 2019
- On this video we share fruit tree propagation by air layering or marcotting method in easy ways using waste plastic cups. We apply the air layering propagation on rose apple or jambo fruit. Let's see the process and give your comments bellow.
VERY GOOD! I like learning all the different ways of air layering.
Thank you. It would be nice if you share your result too
The Power Of Truth
Some plants are put onto rootstocks for virus resistance or vigorous root growth. Which trees are best for this process and your water air layering method and which ones are unsuitable?

You're AWESOME! I've a hundred new Brugmansia in less than 4 weeks from 8 of my oldest Brugs, great timing as it's just now getting into the mid 60's at night. Will be finishing potting them up this weekend. I used Sphagnum Peat Moss, just wet enough for a handful to stay balled up. Filled the peat grow bags found on Amazon, placed filled bag inside disposable plastic water bottle. I go through a case of Zephyrhills Spring water a week - so guilt free now that I'm recycling, lol
Used zip ties to snap sorghum filled peat grow bag inside the water bottle which keeps it snug and safe wrapped around the branch. *also over wrapped bottle with plastic Walmart bag on 50 of the hundred - hellaciously more roots and healthier looking too at that.
Seen a video of a guy air layering that over wrapped with black plastic - so I tried it - I feel it amplified greater results because heat generated.
Anyway - LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos ya share - Thank you
Wow. Very nice sharing. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you for this and the music was lovely too 👍🎼
You're welcome. Thanks
Thank you for sharing! Now I know more way air layering. Last night I did two branches of hibiscus air layering. I used the zipper bag and pot soil. I like your idea much simple!
Glad it was helpful!
They are less maintenance when the air layer is sealed e.g. in foil or plastic, the open top means more watering due to evaporation.
Very helpful, great way of air layering 👍🏻
Thank you
Very nice video and you are a great creator! Thank you.
Thank you very much
Excellent and easy to do. Thanks for showing us.
You're welcome
That's nice. You've grown a different plant on the cup.
Thank you brother
This is very-nice propagation technique...thankz a lot for sharing sir : )
You're welcome. Thank you for visiting
@@EasyGardening you're always welcome sir : ) my pleasure
Most excellent!! Please show us when it done and the next step. Thank you.
OK thank you. Just wait for our next videos
Thank you, for me, it is the easy and effective way to root branches.
Glad to hear that
Great video, thanks!
You're welcome!
Thanks for the video. I am planning to grow citrus and mango next year. It takes about 3 years for the trees to fruit. Can this be cut shorter by using air-layered plants?
Yes it's possible. New plant from air layering propagation process may start to bear fruit in 2-3 years. It depends on the treatment.
nice video ! excellent usage of those yogurt cups , gave me some more ideas too , i have a big medlar fruit tree in my backyard , can i air layer those with this method ? should i water once a week when the soil turns dry ?
Yes I think this will work. Just keep the moist and roots will grow well.
Harika bilgiler için teşekkür ederim. Türkiye'den herkese selamlar
rica ederim
Really sustainable that use recycle the cup, reduce landfills, weldone 💕💕👌👌
Thank you very much
Qe genial lo are con mi gindo gracias
Si gracias
Thanks for this infomitive way of air layering, like the vidio you did with Air Layering with water they have expanded my knolage
Thank you Rick. Nice to know that you like our video
What was in those cups ? Garden soil ? And you never covered them with polythene..you water those cups daily ?
It's potting soil. We are watering it once a week after one month when roots already appearing
Love your video
Thank you
I saw this and find it incredible! I will try...I want to get a Chestnut tree from a tree from our old house, here in Panama we don't get chestnuts easily...we try with some limbs with no luck, I will try again, but this looks a good idea. What you think, it can work with chestnut? Thank you very much! Greets from Panama
Hello Denis. I don't know whether this will work on chestnuts or not since I can't find the plant here. But if you can apply regular method of air layering propagation, then this will work too.
Visiting from Panama as well!!
i would love to try this rocket chicken!!
Lol
Ill save my yogurt cups for this, thanks!
You're welcome
Ótima idéia,será que dá certo com rosa do deserto enraiza??'
sim, é claro que você pode
muito pratico gostei vou fazer aqui no Brasil.
Obrigado e boa sorte
@@EasyGardening obg
ma questa tecnica in che periodo va fatta per favore , vi ringrazio in anticipo .
complimenti per i video sono molto dettagliati e si vedono benissimo
Grazie Il momento migliore per eseguire questo metodo è all'inizio della primavera
Good job. .... but we want to know. ..what is the advantage of this process? !!! Please l want to do it if it is best. .... warm regards from Iraq.
Basically this method is similar with regular method, it's just the simplified method. The advantage is the simplicity of the process
Hi there do you have to water them since you didn’t wrap them?
Yes of course. Once or twice a week. Just to keep the soil moisture
Thanks for the video I found you through Pinterest. I think you would have 10 times as many views on this video if you didn't use any music and if you narrated it and maybe put some text on the screen.
masha Allah. very good job
Alhamdulillah. Thank you brother
Am from Mauritius
Will try in on fig tree
Already done with plastic bottles
Do'not you think that tht compost be pressed tight as we tighten with rafia when doing with plastic wrapping
It's no need to compress the growth medium tight. Happy practicing to your fig tree
Foarte. Util. Multumesc
cu plăcere
Awesome
Thank you
Is it practical on an olive tree and when is the best time (month) to practice it. Thank you.
Yes it's possible to apply on olive tree. Spring is the best time to do.
👍👍👍 very nice
Thank you
@@EasyGardening 👍👍👍
What is the best time of year to do this?
Early spring is the best time to do air layering propagation
Nice.. Can we do this method for Rose plant??
Yes it's possible to do in rose plant
Good information 👍
Thanks
What is the best time for air layering ? Can it be done on all fruit trees ?
Early spring is the best time. Off course it's not, banana for example.
eline saglık (TÜRKİYE)
Teşekkür ederim canım
What mediam you use , that black part ?
Will you tell me..
It's mix of garden soil and compost
What kind soil have you used it in the cup and how often you water
It's mixture of loamy soil and compost. Once a week is enough
Hi there, can you use this method on Mango tree?
Off course we can apply this method to mango tree
Can i do seam thing . With big Lemon 🍋 tree
Yes it's possible to do
Can this be done in the fall?
Yes it's possible. But the best time is in spring
👍
Thank you
Great
Thank you
How do you keep it moist?
Watering it sufficiently if it's too dry
💚👍
Thank you
Do you water it? If yes, how many times a day
Yes. Once a week is enough
How you seperate it from the tree please share it
How to separate it? Just cut the branch and remove the plastic cup to transfer the new plant to soil
Itu gelas kya klo qta bli roket chiken pa yh jd pnasarn masY orng indonesia pa bkan ???
Betul rocket chicken. Iya mbak Indonesia. Terimakasih kunjunganya
Can i do in rainy season, my boginvillea is in rain
Yes off course
But my plant is in sun , even if it is raining it will get atleast 4 hours of direct sunlight ,but still i want to do air layering of that thick branch
and the result? i failed, three grafittings had no roots at all. maybe it needs excess water
Make sure you clean the cambium. Roots won't grow if the cambium is still there
that's why it's so much easier to use the air layering boxes from myfirsttree.com right from the start
After a month how to tranfer to another pace.. could you...
They will be ready to transfer in 1,5-2 months. Just cut under the cups and plant them soil
What soil did you give ?
Potting soil means ?
Potting soil is growth medium which is used in pots or containers. Soil is the main component, while the others can be compost, carbonized rice husk, and etc

What tree is that? Can we do this method for all plant or a particular plant.
It's water apple (wax apple) plant. We can apply this method to all trees that can be done with usual air layering method
Super
Thank you
👍👍👍
Thank you
Good
Thank you
Friend, I see a bandage on your hand. Hope you are feeling better.
I'm OK now. Thank you very much
Any kind of plant is possible in this propagation?
This can be done only on the plants which have cambium
@@EasyGardening okay thank you.
How long is the life span of a plant which is done in air layering?
You're welcome
It depends on the treatment actually. But normally it will grow dozens years
👌🏻👌🏻
Thank you
Nice
Thank you
Did the grafts actually root? It would be great if you could show the plants at the end of two month. Thanks.
Yes of course. Just wait for our next videos
In the winter probably, They will be freeze 😱
Yes of course. So the best time is in the spring
Good method for rooting cuttings through air-laying. However, I have a small concern about the implementation in the video. Cutting all stems through airlayering and interrupting all return sap flows under the bark, you deplete the roots of the mother plant. The roots feed the leaves with water and minerals through the wood barrels. Photosynthesis occurs in the leaves, whereby CO2 from the air is converted into glucose and O2. This glucose dissolved in water forms the sap stream under the bark to the roots of the plant. By interrupting all return sap flows to the roots, the roots of the mother plant no longer grow. This does, however, benefit the newly formed roots of the cuttings.
I experiment for hobby with various cutting methods.
Yes that's very right. But that is how air layering propagation works. Thank you so much for your nice sharing
Result what happens to the mother plant ? Becomes weak, dies, or less fruiting ?
which kind of tree are suitable for this tecnic?
Applicable to all plants that can be done with regular method
Alguien puede decirme que planta es? Por favor
Eso es árbol de manzana de cera (manzana de agua)
@@EasyGardening muchas gracias, no conocía esa planta
How last for rooting ? Thank !
Roots will start to appear in around week 3
😮🤔🤔🌳👍👌
Thanks

can this water propagation may be used on papaya plant?
We don't think so. The stem may be rotten by water so it will probably won't succeed
Sama kita, pake bekas rocket chicken hahaha

Good afternoon everyone. Is it possible to root a persimmon ??? If anyone has met a positive example, please write.
Всем добрый день. Можно ли укоренить хурму??? Если кто встречал позитивный пример, напишите пожалуйста.
I have not tried it yet, but I think this will work on persimmon tree as well
You didn’t show the root development in your video.
Sorry for that. We'll try to make better videos.
Air atha plant name sir
It's a jambo plant
I request u to make oral vdo how many days it took for root growth ur soil mixture ?
Thanks for your suggestions. We have already made the soil mixture for air layering in other video. See in in our channel.
Tanahnya harus basah terus?
Tidak perlu selalu basah. Dijaga tetap lembab saja.

Oo gagawin namin ito sa isa pang video
Iska result bhi show karo brother
ठीक है, बस हमारे अगले वीडियो की प्रतीक्षा करें

The result is new plants, almost the same as what we get from regular air layering propagation method
That last part got me pissed
