First at bat, just gonna hit a home run, bringing home a former NL MVP, then get a high-five from Freddy, Kershaw and the boys in the dugout, no biggie.
All these family moments always get me so touched and emotional. It is amazing to make it to major league and hit a homer in first at-bat, but having family witnessing it and celebrating it with you is even better
i have seen this video over 100 times. Very bad day for me today but watching this cheers me up!! Congrats James and family. I hope this is just the first homerun of many to come with the Dodgers!!
I really like how Joe Davis took the Vin Scully approach here and didn’t talk over the sights and sounds of the crowd cheering to really let the moment speak for itself. Wow. I had no idea that Vinny would pass less than 24 hours after making this comment. The best there ever was or will be.
What a Thrill for any player to be able to say "I hit a Dinger my first time up in The Bigs"....BUT....To have your Family there in person to share this moment is A GRAND SLAM of Epic Emotions! Cheers From REDS Country Everyone!
He has a really nice family. Happy for them and especially James. He had a great numbers in AA and AAA. I'm a Yankee fan and we have Anthony Volpe in the minors and he's the future SS, only a year away and still really young. Cool homerun. Weather was great in Denver from what I saw. Wish him future success in MLB.
For his first time at bat for the team he looked relaxed and ready ( Just another day at the park) This kind of attitude is what makes a great player because his "Head is in the game" he's just focusing on the ball. No doubt this guy's a star in the making
My Son called me up to ask me if I was watching the Giants game as the Dodgers are in SF this week of 8/1/22 as he knows I'm a life long Giants fan back since the Willie Mays days to tell me his classmate from High School just got called up to the Dodgers and hit a HR in his first MLB at bat. Local boy from Redwood City makes good. His family was going crazy...!! LOL
This is why MLB will be the last Pro Sport to that I will finally excise from my soul. It will be NBA, then NFL, then MLB, then NCAAF. Baseball is still treble hooked into the American psyche, perhaps one hook of the three remains, but, nevertheless, still hooked. Congrats to James Outman, a rival NL west player no less. Beautiful.
I somehow missed that game - what a joy to see it now. There's something about this guy that's instantly likeable, beyond the obvious talent. We're lucky to have him as a Doyer!
I am a Padres fan, and I never thought I would ever cheer for a Dodger player, ever! That moment is so special, not just for the kid but for his family, I just couldn't help myself!
Wonderful moment, but the line about being too unrealistic for Hollywood is overused. Akil Baddoo of Detroit hit a homer on the first pitch of his first bat, hit a grand slam in his second at bat, and had a walkoff hit in his third game. THAT was too unrealistic for Hollywood.
As a left hand batter playing in HS, lefties like it down and in to hit it belt on off the field. Based on the slow motion, the ball was hanging in a little in the center before it dropped and then he BELT it. NICE.

You skipped over their best player in the on deck circle. Mookie Betts.
@@deezroastedchestnuts189 mookie isn’t their best player, I think freddie is
@@heree mookie is definitely their best
@@heree Does Freeman’s offensive value outweigh Mookie’s offensive, defensive, and baserunning value?
@@heree dodgers fan here and mookie is 100% our best player right now . Freeman is a close 2nd along with trea turner and Bellinger
This is what makes baseball great. When even your competition inspires you. You don’t have to be a Dodger fan to feel good about this.
beautiful.
Just a great game! Love it when things like this happen
Couldn’t agree more.
People said “Hit it, Outman!”
He heard, “Hit it out, man!”
Awesome!😆

Here in Germany it's totally uncommon to film the parents reaction on their suns first whatever.
I love those videos.
Awesome moment for him. Crazy to think Tyler Austin and Aaron Judge did the same thing back to back
Austin is now a star for a Japanese team. Glad he's finding success elsewhere
Austin always had star written on him , couldn’t find the discipline anywhere around him tho
Christopher Morel was one of the most electric ones.
He swings like Reggie Jackson , check and you’ll see
It’s crazy to think how different things could’ve been had they called that second pitch a strike.
But they didn't and he hit an absolute tank
He probably still would of swung
@@ryanc12.24 should have been a strike, he got a lucky break lmao
It wasn’t a strike tho that’s why they didn’t call a strike
It wouldn’t have mattered if it were called a strike. Plus, the altitude helped him out.
Was at this game all I remember thinking was I will be one of the few people that got to see someone on the board batting at 1.000
i have seen this video over 100 times. Very bad day for me today but watching this cheers me up!! Congrats James and family. I hope this is just the first homerun of many to come with the Dodgers!!
I love pure joy and happiness his family show. You couldn't script it much better
Also smacked a double and single in the game. Went 3-4 with 2 R and 3 RBI, just a great debut.
Right on I was going to look into that. Thanks for the info 👍 😀

What a moment! These are the things that make baseball great. Game aside, congratulations to James Outman. Go Rockies!
I for one appreciate your good sportsmanship. 👍👍

So damn happy for him and his family..so AWESOME!
I am happy for him. That's my cousin!!
To all the people that say the dodgers just “buy” talent we are also one if not THE best at developing talent!! Go blue💙💙💙💙
Buy talent that makes no sense our ball club knows baseball
Almost hit for the cycle in his debut game, wheat a memory

Good number in AA but not really in AAA so far
Great call by Joe Davis. He is a great announcer
This kid is phenomenal!!
Imagine the feeling!
And rounded the bases with his professional game face on, waiting to celebrate with teammates in the dugout. Love it.

Shout out to Vesia for getting him that ball. Way to go Outman 🙌.
Congratulations buddy
Good luck in the future
Quick Bat..! Wow!! watch how fast he turns on that...
How cool is that? Every boy dreams hitting one in their mlb debut to do it is amazing.
When you almost hit for the cycle in your debut… 😮💨🔥👏🏽
That's out, man. Great name for a ball player.
Welcome to the DODGERS we got ourselves a special one LA baby
Outman hit it out, man.
Congrats man that’s insane
He crushed that ball!

I’m glad he wasn’t out, man.
He hit it out, man.
Congratulations brother
When you get the smile out of Clayton you did somethin right
I somehow missed that game - what a joy to see it now. There's something about this guy that's instantly likeable, beyond the obvious talent. We're lucky to have him as a Doyer!
Nice swing crushed that ball💯
Ahhh tears of joy! Gotta love baseball ⚾🤘
Great job... your part of history now.
It be even more perfect of a script of it was two strikes
Congratulations to you James, from a Dodger fan in Oklahoma City!! It gave me the chills, and to see your mom tear up is SO heartwarming!
JAYS FAN
SUPER AWESOME MOMENT
This was super fun to watch live
"Could this actually happen?"
That would be a YES, and it's happened many times before Mr. Outman did it. Congrats young man!!
Yeah I'm pretty sure JJ Matijevic did it earlier this season for the Astros. Unless I'm wrong that's how I remembered it
Oh wait that's my bad I think it was his first Major League HIT not his first Major League at bat.
I found a autograph baseball card of his and sold it for $800 bucks.
Yeah that’s a lie. Nice try tho
As a Padres fan who very much dislikes the Dodgers, way to go man! His (sister, girlfriend?) crying had my eyes sweating.
He's got a beautiful swing
PRIMER TURNO EN GRANDES LIGAS Y PEGA JOMRON ESO SI ES EMPEZAR CON EL PIE DERECHO,EN HORA BUENA.
Vesia looked like a kid with the ball. I loved it. 😆
The dodgers could legit sign a guy bagging groceries at a super market and he’d have a .950 OPS for half a season.
Best team in baseball without a doubt
I love to see the rookies succeed.
Couldn't have gone better for the kid in MLB debut. 3 hits and a HR in first AB. Welcome to the big leagues!!
I am a Padres fan, and I never thought I would ever cheer for a Dodger player, ever! That moment is so special, not just for the kid but for his family, I just couldn't help myself!
Thats the stuff baseball dreams are made of!! Congrats!
how can you not be romantic about baseball?
Kevin Costner
Reminds me of when Freddie hit his first homer against a basically unhittable pitcher at his first at bat on the braves. Good old times
I’m so proud to be a Los Angeles Dodger another one enters greatnesses.
This feat has been achieved just 132 times- hitting HR on your first at bat.
this kids gonna be a star! he even hit a homerun today on opening day.
First I’m a dodger fan and this is so awesome
Man! I don’t care how much money you have or how much they pay you, you can’t buy that!!!! What a rush!!!
Thats awesome!
Those are the most memorable. Not a dodger fan, but congrats!
That is beyond great!
That kid must have felt like a thousand bucks right there.
How awesome is that . Don’t have to be a dodgers fan to be excited about this.
That's awesome 👏👏👏 !
WoW! What can i say? That's Out Man!
This must of felt unbelievable Congrats more to come Go Dodgers
And he's having a monster 2023 Spring training too.....
Welcome to the Dodgers !
This kid has done in 2 games what no Dodger has done since 1920. Wow!
Love these stories
That wasn't a cheap one either. 405ft is very respectable
And now he had a 2 home run game with the game winning grandslam in the 9th
Now another 2 home run game
1:09 Welcome to The Show!
That's awesome. Luckily his first AB was Coors Field.
So freaking cool!
and he hit one last night and tonight (April '24). He looks to be back on track.
That was no cheapie. Nice one James. 😁👍🏾

Yeah that's out man!
Such a cool moment. Westin Wilson of the phillies did the same last season with a homer in his first career at bat.
2:34 He is easily one of the most hyped guys with the Dodgers. 😂
It's so crazy because very few players can sit there and tell you that they got a home run their first career at bat.
As a left hand batter playing in HS, lefties like it down and in to hit it belt on off the field. Based on the slow motion, the ball was hanging in a little in the center before it dropped and then he BELT it. NICE.
Awesomeness
Awesome for him and his family! Go Cubs!
That’s awesome
Redwood City IN DA HOUSE! Have a series vs. Giants, and BEYOND!
How ironic how he brought in Beli lol 😅
Priceless
Dodger blue baby. Good job rookie!
The kid is balling this year 🤗
755 more and he’s the home run champ.
Homerman 🔥
