    i have owned a g2c since december, it has been flawless. i think taurus has really stepped up and made great improvements since their restruction within the company. different gunsmiths and quality control people i believe will get taurus back up and running with the big dogs again. i have a friend with a glock 26 and since december my taurus g2c has shot round for round with his 26, the g2c is more accurate with either myself or friend shooting it.

      The g2c is great for the price but isn't comparable to those $400/500 blocks. I have an older pt111 millennium which is the predecessor to the g2c and a friend has a g2c that I've shot so I speak from some experience. Really it comes down to what you plan on using it for and how hard you plan on using it. For a cheap carry gun that may get shot a handful of times a year I'm sure it would be fine. On the other hand, if you train a lot or need a gun for duty use, you'd be better served with a Glock or something along those lines

    I just bought a G2c 5 days ago and have put just over 500 rounds through it! Not a single hiccup of any kind, flawless operation. Had a 605 that I put 1200 rounds through in less than a week of shooting. My Taurus 66 is the same even after 1700+ rounds. Again, flawless. Taurus has come a looong way from back in the day. Taurus can stand with just about any other gun, Glock, Sig, S&W, Ruger. I've owned many of these guns and put thounds of rounds through them over the course of 40+ years. I am pleasantly suprised and impressed Taurus!
    Update, as of today 14 October 2019 I have put over 2000 rounds through my G2C and have cleaned it once. The only issue I've had is the rear site won't hold. Other than that, flawless operation even when using cheap ammo.
    Well worth the price and MUCH more!

    I just purchased a TH 45 ACP that came with two magazines with 13 round capacity. This is my first Taurus, ever. I paid $475 for it. I have only been able to complete one full magazine through it. I have been having terrible trouble with it, I have since talked to Taurus, and I am trying to get a replacement for the warranty. They are wanting to repair it and I understand that but I am wanting a complete new gun because this is so new. I shouldn’t have any troubles with it, especially dropping $475 for it. I hope I don’t have buyers remorse. A lot of people had told me not to purchase this gun just for the fact of the history of bad luck with these guns, and I tried to overlook that and deal with them on my own terms, but it seems to be coming true. Wish me luck.

      How has your experience with Taurus been coming along with this defective TH45?

    • @stevemendez3535
      @stevemendez3535 10 месяцев назад

      @@Leothelion357 I received my Taurus, TH 45 ACP back maybe six weeks after I made this post and the Taurus, TH 45 ACP now sits in my dresser drawer it is not pleasant to Shoot, at all the slide release and the magazines release are very hard to operate it’s very very disappointing. I have been able to shoot it but I have to shoot it 2 to 3 times then it just jams so it just sits at the bottom of the dresser drawer. Just from the experience of the customer service at Taurus, I will not be purchasing any more Taurus, Firearms. And that’s sad to say because they are a nice looking firearm, but I would rather have a working firearm.

    • @Leothelion357
      @Leothelion357 10 месяцев назад

      @@stevemendez3535 🤔how is your grip strength and dexterity? I have a TH9C, same line but 9mm instead of .45acp, and I agree the mag release is stiffer than most, but not too bad.
      And the slide lock is normal stiffness from my experience of other firearms (Smith and Wesson shields and HK semi autos)
      Another reason why the firearm you have might be jamming is because you’re “limp wristing” when you fire.
      Semiautomatic slide action firearms have to be held very securely, otherwise the recoil isn’t transferred to the slide fully and looses its momentum because the firearm is allowed to rotate back too much when firing.
      And I only think you’re limp wristing it because you’re saying the slide stop and mag release are too hard to press so it leads me to believe maybe your hand strength is the issue.
      Don’t give up and make you train more. Taurus has amazing service and quality in my experience and I have 8 Taurus firearms, revolvers and semiautomatics. Their customer service is on par with most companies today.
      Try taking it to the range again and see if working on the issues I brought up make your experience more pleasant.

    I have a G2c, and it works great. When the barrel gets hot, sometimes the shell won't eject. And the "catch" on the trigger pull, I THINK, is when it catches on the safety block. I took it apart, took a flashlight, and looked at how the trigger is stopped when the safety is on. A cam with no groove stops the trigger from going back. When the safety is turn off, a groove allows the trigger to go back all the way, but it catches on the cutout just a bit. I would have liked to of had the option of left or right-handed slide release. I'm left-handed, but I can shoot either hand just as well, so when I go to the range, I shoot one mag with one hand, then the other with the other. When I shoot left-handed at the range, I put it back in my right hand to release the magazine. But if needed, I have practiced reaching back with the middle finger of my left hand to release the magazine without putting it in my right just to get the magazine out.

Just ordered today from Hinterland Outfitters the Taurus TH9 full size and on four or five "notify" lists for the TH9c. I have S&W and Ruger 9mm, all striker fire so I wanted to get a couple hammer fired semis. Never a problem with these outside of the PT709 which I found out pretty quickly it didnt like the cheap steel case junk for target practice. Use brass, no problems, and save the cheap Russian steel junk for my Hi Point 995TS carbine which will eat anything.

    A bit late to the game but I was going to buy the TH9C in '18 but there weren't any spare magazines for sale anywhere and for months/years?
    So I bought a G2C instead and I do like it and have no complaints. I carry CCW and recently bought the TH9C but have not had the chance to test drive it.
    Obviously I'm a fan of a hammer fired w/manual safeties pistols. I've owned and carried 11A1's (military) and my only complaint is the weight. In a shoulder rig no problem but IWB/OWB is a problem unless you use suspenders. Same as with the RIA Tac II ultra, .45ACP. Heavy at 2+# dry (replaced w/XDE).
    One thing I'd like to impart on the G2C takedown is I've found that w/mag removed, lock the slide to the rear, depress the trigger and release the slide lock and the initial slide takedown/release procedure is the same. To me the standard two handed procedure is cumbersome. What say you?
    Now of course you know the G3C 15 round mag works on a G2C.
    Taurus only offers ITB 10 or 17 round mags now w/TH9C. If you go to the Taurus store 13 round mags are available at a reasonable ($27?) price. I bought my TH9C with the 17's and bought the 13's from the Taurus store. 10 isn't enough and 17 will print especially in IWB CCW mode. 17's are good for backup mags.
    I'd be interested in finding out if you read this after 3yrs. Living in Cambodia I don't always get current utube vids!

    I am NOT encouraging anyone to do this, but for those like me who do not like carrying a fully-cocked single-action gun (like the G2 is) you CAN choose to set it up to fire the first shot in double-action by fooling the second strike trigger function to think it is needed. The pistol is built too tight to just slip a feeler gauge in front of the firing pin like the old PT111s. So, you have to clear the pistol and pull the trigger to release the striker spring; remove the slide and spring and barrel, and manually insert a cartridge into the barrel. Then CAREFULLY put the barrel back in the slide with the cartridge rim UNDER the extractor, and restore the spring. Now CAREFULLY put the slide back on only far enough to put in the cross-pin, WITHOUT racking it past the cross-pin---this leaves the pistol un-cocked and ready for a double action pull if the manual safety is off. Try it before you rely on it, so you are sure you are good to carry an un-cocked G2 in double action...……...…………………..elsullo

    I am finally getting use to the trigger on the g2c, haven't held a TH9 yet, but if anyone cares Taurus is having a $25 rebate on all TH9 and TH40 models, I received the email today. I'm no brand loyalist I have several different manufacturers, but i do like to try other companies out, and I haven't had any issues or bad things to say about the two Taurus firearms I own.

    My biggest complaint about the G2C is that the trigger safety bar does not go completely into the trigger itself when pulled back, and after shooting for awhile it begins irritating my trigger finger. They engineered a great pistol and the trigger/trigger bar was like and afterthought.

    Its always been my thought that the striker fired requires more training, confidence etc. than the da/sa with an extra level of safety ie a decocker. I have the th9c and feel more comfortable carrying with one in the chamber with a decocker. Any thoughts.

    Th9c has the better sights, and you get more capacity. The extra weight and barrel length add to accuracy and reduce recoil recovery. It's cheaper out of the nicer box than upgrading the sights and magazines for the g2c. The hammer fire assembly looks good. I like that it isn't fully exposed like a 1911 and very minimal. i wonder if its similar or even a carbon copy of any Beretta model?
