I really wish we had more info on Harad and Rhun. They seem so interesting, and the wars between them and Gondor unfortunately seemed one sided. Love the Dunlandings too! Their wars with Rohan were complex and I could see their side more than Rohan's! (Although I also love the Rohirrim. Rohan's probably my favorite kingdom of men!) Love Arnor too!
Just about to go to sleep, but not now until I watch this video. Top notch video, as usual, and so much context. Thanks for all you do for us each week.
Hasan Wilson how they weakest they are the most numerous and diverse of all people. All dragons were slain by men and men provide the bulk of the war effort.
Actually, It'sJust Me. If I remember correctly, all Dragons who were *named* were slain by men. Many unnamed Dragons were slain by dwarves. But I agree with you that humanity isn't weak. They're the most diverse and adaptable.
Yet another factastic video here, I loved it, your description of the lands of Middle Earth were both informative and interesting, as to what my favorite land would be, I would have to say Rivendell aka Imladris or Merkwood as they are both dwelling places of the Elves and I, like Bilbo Baggins, have always liked elves a great deal. Once again you've done a brilliant job here as you always do, well done, well done indeed.
So cool! Couldn’t wait for this notification all weekend. I had an idea for a future topic. Food in middle earth and the different eating habits of hobbits, elves, dwarves etc...
It is thought to be the location Orocarni mountains and the eastern adjacent Wild Wood, where the elves were awoken, although that would have been so long ago and Arda is so volatile that it's basically speculation.
There were the lakes of Cuivuenen where Elves awoke and Hildoren where Men awoke. 4 houses of the Dwarves do live there. The Blue Wizards went east and never went home- Alatar's master was Oröme the Vala, who rode in these lands hunting evil beasts. There is a kine (like a large buffalo) called the Kine of Araw that lives south of the Sea of Rhun. Its horn is a prize for hunters, including Boromir's ancestor Voronwë who passed it down his line until it became the sign of the heir of the Steward, and then later cloven in two by the Uruk-hai. The wine country of Dorwinion is said to be on the southwest coast of the Sea of Rhun. The Sea itself is sighted by Frodo on the Seat of Seeing at Amon Hen. Tolkien purposely left the east unremarkable so that the mystery will remain.
Hello, I recently discovered your channel and I cannot express how grateful I am for what you are doing and hopefully will continue to do for a long time. Every time when I want to escape to Middle Earth I watch your videos. Thank you!
Thanks for the great video, I would love to see more of these. If you wish to continue these geographical videos, you might want to get yourself a copy of "The Atlas of Middle-Earth". It's full of maps accompanied by relevant descriptions etc.
While I am a fan of Lotr, I have recently taken some time away from it to read other books, which has led me to forget quite a bit. But thanks to great channels and videos like this, I'm slowly getting back into Lotr. Keep up the good work!
This is one of the best youtube video on Middle Earth. Keep it up. I would love to see some speculative videos from you. Examples: Economy &Taxation, Government & Administration, Military & Warfare, Culture & Civilisation, Arts & Architecture etc.
Fernando García Orza If I remember right it is mentioned in the appendix’s to the lord of the rings but I’m fairly certain I read it on The Encyclopedia of Arda. They would have the actual link to where Tolkien himself wrote it.
@hunter christensen Well I have to admit that I could have sworn I read it there, but I can not find it now myself. What I remember reading was that the Wainriders assaulted the Iron Hills, Once, and the dwarves drove them back rather handily. But like I said I can not find any mention of it now, so I guess either I remember wrong or it just isn't there, but I like to think thats how it would have happened if they ever did try to attack the dwarves.
I love your videos and how they are built, i enjoy it a lot and it makes my day a little brighter and i am very greatful that you take your time and create these incredible videos and deepen our knowledge in the lore of the LOTR.
I see that you use a couple of images from the Middle-Earth roleplaying game in your presentation. Also, did you make any use of Karen Wynn Fonstad's excellent "The Atlas of Middle Earth"? I have both editions of her work, plus having the pleasure to spend a lunch with her talking about her work and Middle Earth. I have found them quite valuable when used with both "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings".
Awesome video! Hope you can make a video estimating the numbers of the population of the first age, second age, and third age. Thanks! Good luck as always!
I loved this video, as always❤ You should definitely do a video on the Elven people(Vanyar, Noldor and Teleri) and their lands etc. If you haven't already done one
Just found your channel, and I love it! I've been a fan of LOTR for a while, but I never got deep into the lore. Can't wait for more videos from you! :D
Nice video. You forgot some groups though, like the Fisherfolk of Enedwaith, which are rumored in the Lore to be connected to the Clan Haleth from First Age. People who never travelled to Beleriand and who were in Conflict with the Numenoreans, when these landed on their shores and cleared their forest. You also forgot the Beornings and the Men of Mirkwood. I'm also pretty sure that Dorwinion was never a part of the North Men Kingdoms of Rhovanion, but Kindgom mostly glad in myths.
Good video. Consistently sad we don't have that many about everyone from the East and the South as people, not just antagonists. There's so much there to explore that we'll never really know.
Gondor, because of the Beacons!!! Powerful message at the end there, Mellon!!! Until...Oh Yes, My Suggested Video!!! Sorry, Until The Children of Hurin...Marion Baggins Out!!!
I actually think Men are one of the most interesting races in Middle-Earth simply for their variety - unlike the other races, they don't fit into any single category (or it could be said that they fit into every category.) Never a dull moment with 'em. Love the video!
Great video as always! One question, do “half-trolls” really exist in the Legendarium or is it some kind of in-universe racist slur towards other men (given that the original quote reads “like half trolls?”) It’s a bit unclear.
I'd love a video on the De-peopling of Eriador in the 3rd Age. Its seemingly so desolate of settlement by the time of The Hobbit that it seems ironic that Tolkien called the lands east of the Misty Mountains Wilderland. If the House of Elrond was the last Homely House, I feel like it would be more so when travelling East to West as opposed to West to East. What do you think Yoysten? Also, when Aragorn re-establlishes Arnor, what people did he re-establish it with other than the Breelanders?
What if Fram was killed by Scatha? What if Smaug survived the events of the Hobbit? What if Elrod took the Ring? What if Tar-Miriel had become qceen of Numenor instead of Ar-Farazon? What if king Earnur was not killed by the witch-King? What if Saruman was not a traitor? What if Smaug took the Ring? What if Durin's Bane took the Ring? (sorry for my bad spelling)
Pls do fortresses like Dol Guldur and cities of middle earth, i so admire fortresses of middle earth.. how, who and why are they build and some events that take place there.. thank you for your effort to explain in so detail, i love your vids, namarie
Thank u so much for making this video Didnt watch thr video yet but pretty sure it would be awesome Hoping that u will focus on this series Lastly, Can u do more of lore reviews?
The ending message is nice. Not all may appreciate a world with less conflict. But I think Tokien would have supported a world with less suffering beyond a doubt. Cheers.
Great series! I wonder if there's any way to learn more about the peoples within Middle Earth that are less known, about their tradition, culture, habits etc.?
I would love if you could do something like this for all the races of middle earth.
this^
Elves specifically ❤️✨💚
woot-woot, three of my favorite topics, History, Geography, and Tolkien's Legendarium. Thanks for another great video!
Rohan's probably my favorite kingdom of men!)
Love Arnor too!
With if the Book of Westmarch is just Gondorian propaganda?
Just about to go to sleep, but not now until I watch this video. Top notch video, as usual, and so much context. Thanks for all you do for us each week.
Great video as always Yoystan! I enjoyed the music in this video.
Ah men. Weakest of the free peoples yet Eru's favorite
Hasan Wilson how they weakest they are the most numerous and diverse of all people.
All dragons were slain by men and men provide the bulk of the war effort.
It'sJust Me when contending with the will of the Dark Lords men seem to get the hardest hit
Hasan Wilson maybe because the are the biggest threat to the dark lords so they go after them the hardest
It'sJust Me not to mention how easily corruptable they are compared to Dwarves, Elves and Hobbits
Actually, It'sJust Me. If I remember correctly, all Dragons who were *named* were slain by men. Many unnamed Dragons were slain by dwarves. But I agree with you that humanity isn't weak. They're the most diverse and adaptable.
This is what I wait for on Sundays, good work Yoystan!

I had an idea for a future topic.
Food in middle earth and the different eating habits of hobbits, elves, dwarves etc...
So everything from "Butter scraped over too much bread", "Just tea, thank you" to "Ripe meat off the bone"
Lembas bread too!
GeorgiaWarBoy81 True, but a video about Middle Earth's economy of food, about agriculture, livestock, hunting, trade and so on that'd be a nice one.
There's some cheese here! This wine has a fruity bouquet
Just the video to wake me up!!! Good morning/night to y'all!!
Nice work dude thanks
Awesome video!! Do one of beleriand!
Hey Yoyston great video! I think a video on how day to day life would be for the free peoples. Would be very interesting
Great video Yoystan. Thank's for the good work!
Your vids are really good bro. It you and Geekzone I come to for great middle earth lore videos
Josepiie Robinson Thanks man, I really appreciate it! Geekzone is really great!
I would love a history or theory video on the dead marshes
Epic character history of Gandalf! From his arrival to his departure!
A feast for you my friend, it is well deserved being one of the last remaining lore masters. Your services are well received.
Every week you make me Travel in Middle-earth and this is without prise.
Thank you Yoystan, my friend
What is known about the lands east of Rhun and Mordor?
It is thought to be the location Orocarni mountains and the eastern adjacent Wild Wood, where the elves were awoken, although that would have been so long ago and Arda is so volatile that it's basically speculation.
@MallarRallam that's true
There were the lakes of Cuivuenen where Elves awoke and Hildoren where Men awoke. 4 houses of the Dwarves do live there. The Blue Wizards went east and never went home- Alatar's master was Oröme the Vala, who rode in these lands hunting evil beasts.

loving your videos mate
A heartwarming message at the end but, I saw enough orcposting memes to know it is a bad idea.
That was great. I always enjoy looking over every map of middle Earth I can. It was nice to have the history alongside the visuals.
damn dude i really enjoy your vids. Keep up the great work
Thanks for the great video, I would love to see more of these. If you wish to continue these geographical videos, you might want to get yourself a copy of "The Atlas of Middle-Earth". It's full of maps accompanied by relevant descriptions etc.
What a fantastic video please do more in this geography series.
This is my bed time channel. Keep the vids coming.
Excellent video as usuall. You really make Middle Earth come to life. If only i could visit it and see that it is exactly the way you describe it
While I am a fan of Lotr, I have recently taken some time away from it to read other books, which has led me to forget quite a bit. But thanks to great channels and videos like this, I'm slowly getting back into Lotr. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic yoystan!! Great vid as usual. Specially loved the visuals and music as well!! Do one with all the races in midgard
I want a Farmer Maggot sequel.
wonderful video as usual Yoystan!
Highly informative. Thanks!
Excellent video as always! Thanks!
Ah the Wainriders, they learned the same lesson the Orcs did, don't mess with the Dwarves!
In which part of Canon Middle Earth did the dwarves get to battle the Wainriders? I don´t remember any of it...
Fernando García Orza If I remember right it is mentioned in the appendix’s to the lord of the rings but I’m fairly certain I read it on The Encyclopedia of Arda. They would have the actual link to where Tolkien himself wrote it.

Definitely my favourite part of the legendarium is the geography! Thanks!
Awesome video! Hope you can make a video estimating the numbers of the population of the first age, second age, and third age. Thanks! Good luck as always!
I loved this video, as always❤
You should definitely do a video on the Elven people(Vanyar, Noldor and Teleri) and their lands etc. If you haven't already done one
Iv'e learned a lot about middle earth from your videos! Well presented too. Would you consider doing a feature length episode?
Awesome video!!! Keep up the amazing work!!!

Just found your channel, and I love it! I've been a fan of LOTR for a while, but I never got deep into the lore. Can't wait for more videos from you! :D
Third?!
Am I noticed by HIM?

Forochel was one of my favorite areas in LOTRO. Beautiful landscape.
Nice mount and blade art
I like how you informed us on the Hard and Rhun. I want more stuff with Easterlings, Haradrim, and Olíphaunts.
Gondor, because of the Beacons!!!
Powerful message at the end there, Mellon!!!

Are their any more settlements in rhovanion, are any of the old principalities still around?
Brilliant video :)
Would be cool if you also did a geography of Beleriand and Aman.
I'd never heard of Half-Trolls before.
The ending message is nice. Not all may appreciate a world with less conflict. But I think Tokien would have supported a world with less suffering beyond a doubt. Cheers.
My favorite land in ME is Lothlorien while it's very beautiful it's also majestic for the Queen that rules over it.
My favorite world? It is a toss up between Fangorn's Forest and the Lands of Tom Bombadil. Lore of the trees and tree shepherds.
Great series! I wonder if there's any way to learn more about the peoples within Middle Earth that are less known, about their tradition, culture, habits etc.?
The speech in the end reminds me of the lyrics in Imagine.
awesome video, as always .... could u a land of elves ? plz :)
Love this so much
How do you get all of these amazing images?
Wonderful!
Been here since 20K subscribers !
Riders of Rohan! Oaths you have taken!
I think it's: "Ar VED' u i - Ar-ved'(short e)-u( long u)-i(long i); accent on second syllable. It just sounds more heraldic and epic to me
Can you make a Q and A like:What is your favourite faction and something like that.
Great video.
good video :D
You should do one on wolves & one on wargs
