Secret Invasion Review Episode one Disney Marvels new spy MCU series. Featuring 6 episodes this series could have been great, it was the series I wanted the MOST to be great, what I got was something else. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury has always been great, but far from the great character he's been in other movies, this Nick Fury is an entirely different person. Constantly told how much of a failure he is, how he let everyone down and should just give up. Nick Fury should be the main draw for Disney plus's Secret Invasion, instead, you find yourself looking for something else to save the series. But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)
Just for the record a nuclear bomb and a nuclear reactor work totaly different, hell the uranium is of different quality the term "weapon's grade uranium" exists for a reason!
27:50 "Spook" means BOTH "spy" AND it's a derogatory term for a black person (at least here in the states). So, it's sort of a double entendre in this context. No one uses it in the latter manner anymore, though.
I like that Secret Invasion is supposed to lead me to want to watch "The Marvels" movie! I'm in the mind set "no thanks, I'm done with disney's marvel"! and this series is not appealing in the least! I didn't think I didn't want to watch a series with Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury before Captain Marvel! is it to late for a show with Nick Fury as the main character? Is Nick Fury marvels version of Indiana Jones? Old, frail and done? Apparently so! Maybe MCU should just reboot!? Because I feel like I'm done with it! Good review!
Nick fury was never cool. Jackson plays the same damn character in every single movie he's in. Not to mention that was one of the first ridiculous race swaps to begin pushing the message. I would rather see a Broadway actor as nick than Jackson. He ruined that character all on his own. He agrees to these awful shows and annoyance scripts. And don't tell me it's for the paycheck. He has enough money to have developed standards of stone kind by now. Besides, he's a crazy lefty anyway, so good, in glad this show makes him look even more lazy than he usually does
_"Argentina attacks Colombia."_ Er, those two countries don't share a land border. So how exactly did this attack take place? Did Argentina march its army through Bolivia and then Peru or Brazil to get there? Or did the Argentine navy sail around Cape Horn and launch a seaborne invasion? _"Colombia attacks the Philippines."_ Uh, those two countries are separated by about *10,000 miles* of Pacific Ocean. How the hell did that attack take place? Neither country has much in the way of naval forces that could conduct or support any sort of military action against the other. Did no one involved in this show look at an atlas before picking the fighting countries?
I love the disney approach to legacy characters either making them a isolated hermit, or letting ego inflated, suffer no obstacles, new gen characters completely overshadow them
It's the message sir. Expect them to start advocating for 7 year old trans kids very very soon. I'm getting ads now on RUclips for sex change drugs. It's coming. Get ready
Well, of course we can't have stabilished male characters having a lead role now, can we? Not even being a black man could save Nick Fury, he isn't gender fluid enough to lead.
I'm convinced that these are writers who really want to make "dark/gritty/nuanced/adult" content but the only thing they'll get paid for is superhero content so they hammer their "vision" into a marvel show where it does not belong.
I've actually had cat scratch fever. I thought it was just a song, but they were checking me for Non-Hodgkins lymphoma before figuring it out. Shits no joke lol.
Transforming behind obstacles WHILE IN A CROWD is also stupid. Just because the perspective character can see them change, doesn’t mean EVERYONE ELSE can’t. It would freak people out.
Hey if the Skrull can shift their clothing at will as well, why didn't the daughter just round a corner and shapeshift herself to lose the agent instead of getting into a fight, which we KNOW if someone just pulls a gun they normally lose. Like seriously, every time a Skrull dies, it's because they decided to fight.
So, she abducted him just to gloat at him??? I have to say, this conversation ia actually realistic without the awareness of the writers... Fury is trying to create a solution whilst the woman just wants to keep on being unhelpful and waste time by only chosing insults and vain gloating just to randomly tell him that she's better than him for no reason and she ignores making a solution for this very important information to be critically disclosed at pedantic and detailed length, solutions be damned, this is way more important than an invasion by aliens... No professionalism and this is the behavior of a Disney villain not someone to root for... He's not even responding like a real human would and the woman keeps repeating hwr point in different insults, and except he is her subordinate, no human should be sitting down there taking this silently like a whipped dog with no retort or even sign of anger, frustration or exhaustion like a real person would in this conversation... This isn't a real conversation and these are not real people, they're just loud speakers for the writers real world gripes and agenda so the characters are currently deviod of life and are not currently humans...😅
The problem with them doing Secret Invasions now is that they already ruin the Skrulls in the Captain Marvel movie, where they are shown to be innocent refugees. So how you going to make them the villains now, when they were turn into victims in the MCU? This just contradicts what was already established.
The Skrulls left the GALAXY cause the Kree wanted them all dead, and were succeeding. So why they would come BACK is beyond any reasonable mind to comprehend. Easy for the writers though. They just decided Nick Fury, who had NOTHING to do with them finding a new planet to live on, was supposed to find them a new planet to live on, and instead DIDN'T and also worked them like slaves while he whined in his space station. I fucking hate Marvel now.
To me the writters wanted Secret Invasion to be for Nick Fury what Logan was to Wolverine. But they lacked the talent and brain. In Logan they did not tell us every minute how Wolverine was passed his prime, they showed us and it still was badass.
They hate showing men in a positive light, they had to push that "Men Bad" narrative/agenda while trying to get the other parts to fit into the story.. except it won't make sense because their agenda doesn't make sense because its just insanity, so they can't possibly make a story that actually fits together and makes sense. The story has Nick Fury and the Skrull leader as the main/important characters, but they are men, so they have to show them negatively, which destroys the whole story right at the start.
Yes, exactly. Because Logan wasn't necessarily past his prime. His body started failing and he did what was the next best thing. He did what was needed. To stay with Xavier and keep him alive. Because Logan's failing body is less dangerous than Xavier's failing mind. It doesn't make Logan a loser hermit who ran away from the world.
So smart they think infrared glasses will only detect markers and not all heat sources and half the radiation being emitted by the sun? Like infrared radiation isn't EVERYWHERE!
During the scene in the scrull refuge we are told there are only around 500 scrulls with them Why exactly do they need to take over the whole world for that many numbers? The original secret invasion was a proper invasion but in the MCU the scrulls are show as refugees trying to find a new home Just give them like an apartment complex in new york and you can probably fit all of them
Update after episode 3: Presuming all skrulls have joined this group, there's 500 non-combatants living at the abandoned power plant, but around 1 million fighters out in the world.
When it comes to older male characters, Disney only ever has one idea: "He's a broken mess for 90% of the time, then at the very end he regains a little bit of confidence." Luke Skywalker. Indiana Jones. Obi-Wan Kenobi. Boba Fett. Now Nick Fury. And there are probably more that aren't occurring to me. Nick Fury should be feeling damn good about himself. He *created* the Avengers, and they reversed the Snap! He indirectly saved the universe.
They have only one idea for some reason. Even if they just wanted him to be subdued and somewhat off, why is EVERYONE so willing to smack talk Nick Fury to his Face! He was a badass for so long and he went dark for a while. NO INFORMATION ON HIM and they act like he's just been in a closet on space crying every night. Now especially if they don't have good terms...why wouldn't they be slightly more on gaurd and somewhat nervous because it's still Nick Fury. A man with plans upon plans!
That’s why people like Jack Horner from Puss and boots 2. We been seeing that trope so much that it’s refreshing when it was subverted and the bad guy is finally treated and punished for the villain they were.
@@Gamerguy-ud1zo It was funny how the cricket kept trying finding something good in Jack Horner, and in the end the guy was like: "nope, I'm pure evil."
Who else thinks that Dany's character will change sides at the last minute? And they will pretend she's a paragon of virtue despite trying to kill 8 billion people!
There’s a great Star Trek DS9 episode that proves your point. During the height of the Dominion War, Sisko is called back to earth for Federation business. It turns out that a Changeling or changelings have infiltrated the Federation brass, causing a security problem that resulted in a whole planet lockdown. Once the culprits were outed and dealt with, the remaining Changeling slyly and ominously told Sisko “There were only four of us on this planet. Imagine what we could have done if it were a hundred of us”. Very chilling. But then, DS9 is what you’d call a good show. Not sure about Secret Invasion.
I remember when DS9 was new and people like this guy would've hated it. Don't pretend you don't remember the backlash for Sisqo putting Picard in his place or Sisqo punching Q.
@@jamesgatz4490 I was always annoyed at both those things, so I am only happy to hear that others were as well, lol. DS9 did have some growing pains in its first season but quickly found its footing, so fans didn't hold those early bobbles against it.
@@marychocolatefairy And I loved them. From the start they estabilished tone of whole series. As Sisko himself said, it's easy to be saint in paradise. Unlike Pickard, he cannot give some speech and fly away never to return. DS9 is stationary and have to deal with every consequence and that makes that show special.
They made a cold-war style spy thriller with shapeshifters......and theres not an ounce of PARANOIA. Its literally the one emotion all 3 genres are based around. It'd be like making a romantic comedy where everyone is sad and ends up alone or am action movie that centers around the cia desk jocky watching Jason Bourne on his monitor
Meeting: OK people are enemies are Skrulls and they can change shape to anyone you know! Agent raises hand: OK, I get it so now we should TRUST everyone and never be careful that a person might not be who we think they are?

There was more paranoia in a kids cartoon version of Secret Invasion through Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. It actively broke the Avengers team and the trust the world had in Captain America afterwards.
Did you see the first guy... the agent that handed over the stuff to a scrull... ? Nick and the others might not feel that paranoia as the guy in the beginning did.
Are you certain you're reviewing the right show? Because while that woman was talking to Nick fury I fully expected to hear her use the line "Sheer fucking hubris" It genuinely feels as if the writers for the first season of Picard wrote these episodes. The whole tearing down of established characters and the belittling of older and experienced people. I am so tired of the cliched deconstruction of our stars nonsense these writers think they are so clever for attempting to implement. Even the plot point where the Skrulls feel betrayed by Nick fury because they were promised a home is so similar to the Picard plot device regarding the Romulans. How fitting then it is that in both series it is just as ridiculous for these two sets of people to blame this one man for not being able to save them and find them a new world.
I think the director of this Secret Invasion TV show purposely decided to make it boring, if so I am sure he took notes watching Piccard, which was so boring I only could punish myself to watch it until ten minutes of the second episode.

I have an idea: what if we took every single likeable IP/male character ever, and brought them back for new movies and shows wherein they're emasculated, humiliated, insulted, and rendered useless by an unlikeable, preachy know-it-all female character who's perfect at everything? What if we did that WITH EVERY SINGLE IP WE OWNED--EVERY SINGLE ONE!!! WOULDN'T THAT BE GREAT?!!?
@tabithaprovan957 Well, it's more to demoralize you. The Marxists/Socialists succeed either way. Either they are able to take over the IP and use it to indoctrinate you and others through it. Or you manage to discern that they've taken it over and you stop loving it. In that way, they deny it to you. At no point does the original purpose (entertainment) stand, unlike Brutalism in architecture.
What is Disneys obsession with our male heroes being broken losers with very little character arc? Like imagine if Nick Fury was a woman. Then it would be a narrative of how great she is and she is only broken because of how great she is. It's the same tired trope every time by Disney. Calling it now: Brie Larson showing up somewhere in this series.
He'll be a woman after this show is finished. I'm calling it right now. By the end of this show, Fury will have passed his legacy on to some undeserving young FEMALE character nobody cares about or even remembered until now.... OH NO IT'S GONNA BE THE FUCKING DAUGHTER! GODS DAMN IT!
I hear the reason why Blade didnt get made was because Blade is supposed to die and the audience is supposed to cheer for his daughter being his replacement.
On top of Fury getting standard leading male treatment, I also feel bad for Cobie Smulders' character Hill. She was Fury's highly competent and trusted right hand. Here she's mean and ungrateful to Fury, gets her ass kicked and is so bad at being an agent she falls for the oldest shapeshifting trick in the book.
So they're saying that we just left nuclear reactors with nuclear materials in them and not watch over them? They still watch over cherynobl. And unless there was an accident, there's no radiation in a nuclear plant that you have to worry about. Plus, if they set off a dirty bomb, chemist can figure out which plant it came from since every reactor has quirks to it and the exact chemical composition, the various elements and byproducts, will vary enough that you can tell where it's from.

"Thanos changed" Fury you say? Because he showed him that "there was always someone stronger to undermine" him you say? REALLY? NO SHIT. Fury knew that already. He assembled a team comprised of almost entirely people who were stronger than him. Hell, that was a REQUIREMENT FOR ADMISSION. "A group of extraordinary people... to fight the battles that we never could." And guess what? Fury STILL managed to treat em all like his bitches. "Why are you making super weapons?" "Because of him" *points to Thor* "When he showed up, he proved Earth is hopelessly outgunned." FURY ALREADY KNEW HIS ENTIRE FUCKING PLANET WASN'T AT THE TOP OF THE FOOD CHAIN, THAT'S WHY HE MADE THE AVENGERS!

He had an iron will and balls of steel.
@@lordhelwintr283 That and what I also assume was just not watching the MCU up to this point. I doubt they had seen anything more than Captain Marvel and a few clips of Talos/Fury from FFH.
This feels like Disney is purposefully using the exact opposite approach to Fury as Derek Kolstad did John Wick. People describe Wick as a supernatural entity. Disney's dialogue sounds like it was written by SLJ's ex that has held in the bitterness and hate for 50 years, and we are witnessing the "fury" of this character assassination.

I was wondering how Nick Fury got his injured eye, and the Captain Marvel movie gave the answer of an alien cat scratching it?! I never felt that disappointed. Samuel Jackson wanted Mace Windu not to die like a punk, and now the M She U wants Nick Fury to behave like TLA Luke? What the ding dong has been going on throughout the years?
Funny that Samuel *L* Jackson complained about Mace Windu when he completely supports all this Disney/woke nonsense. He called the fans who didn't like Brie Larson's Captain Marvel as "incels"... I thought he was smarter than this, but guess not.
It's super stupid. They never needed to explain the eyepatch. And when they did it just made it 10x worse. We assumed that it was some cool battle scar, now we have to think back to a stupid cat taking his eye! LOL Noooooo! stop RUINING the lore!!!

@@Сайтамен Ya, I commented a bit early. This changes it into a different problem now, the entire core concept is now gone. It's no longer this terrifying secret that this mysterious enemy has infiltrated everywhere and no one can be trusted. Now it's yet another generic spy/action show. The enemy is known before the show even starts. Look at the whole bomb plot. How is that made any different by the enemy being Skrulls? It doesn't, just generic Disney/Marvel shlock. I just want Nick Fury to say "Enough is enough! I have had it with these monkey fighting snakes on this Monday through Friday plane!" preferably uncensored...
Making Nick Fury seem old and useless could actually work in the hands of better writers. He is a spy and could be pretending to be washed up so his enemies underestimate him and let their guard down. His allies who are in on it could be told to ridicule him constantly so any Skrull who may have infiltrated their ranks believe this to be the truth. However for that to work you would need to allude to it in the first episode, have him really play up the limp and lack of confidence until one moment where he acts with extreme competence but only for a moment or two, just enough to have audiences questioning if he is as shit as they say he is. Imagine Revenge of the Sith where Yoda is hobbling around on his walking stick only to surprise everyone with his insane acrobatics and combat prowess, only to hobble away again afterwards. Something like that but less silly could work really well in a show that is about spies and manipulating the information that your enemy has access to.

It's so frustrating that the Blip only gets to be a plot point sometimes. Over half of the Phase 4 properties either made no mention of the Blip whatsoever or only ever gave it a partial mention. There was a point in time where we were told the focal point of Phase 4 was going to be all about the Blip and its aftereffects. So much wasted potential. I'm pretty sure spook was once an insult against black people or something, but I'm also pretty sure no one has unironically been called that as a racial slur for longer than I've been alive, and I'm forty.
I'm in my mid-fifties and I remember it coming up from time to time in my youth. It was very much a slur. I can see where Disparu might not have heard it before, though.
My biggest question is: what does any of this have to do with Secret Invasion? The whole point of the original was that no-one was aware it was ongoing, nor who the Skrulls impostors were, since they were themselves unaware of their Skrull identity to evade detection. And the point of making Nick Fury its pivotal character was that he had turned paranoia into a weaponised art form, so to speak. How does any of this gel with the MCU’s lazy “Skrulls are poor misunderstood refugees” metaphor? Has Marvel already spent all its “weird skin colour alien is a villain” points on the Thanos non-player character creation sheet?
Real Nick Fury was created by Lee/Kirby and given legendary status by Jim Steranko, and he was a cigar chomping white guy with bad attitude and grey temples. This "Nick Fury" has always been just a pathetic "Ultimate" reimagining. Nick Fury -Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D (1963-2012) R.I.P.
Pacific Rim a big dumb robots vs monsters movie at least started with video showing the devastation so we have something to entertain and engage us. Disney can't even afford to do that anymore. Hell time to go back and watch it again. It's held up as opposed to all this crap TV and movies for the last decade.
It's really a shame what they are doing to their legacy characters. Saying to Nick Fury's face, "You're not ready for this," multiple times is just sad. Oh my God, Nick Fury swallowed his pride when they needed to put down SHIELD in CA: Winter Soldier, and he faced the fact that they couldn't rebuild it again. He knows that there are other lifeforms in the universe besides humans, and then his longtime protégé/assistant/partner Maria Hill of all people suddenly tells him that he is not ready for anything. The decontruction of male characters in Disney is really appaling.
@@billybadass3056 I was more saying you can use it and should towards the show, which seems to be implying that non-blacks shouldn't use the word spook which is funny because I knew once you limit a group of people to 1 word, it would grow into multiple words and soon it will be a whole block of language that only certain groups of people can use.
5 decades ago they managed to make a standalone movie about a whole group of old guys both baddass and poignant. And that movie went on to inspire the red dead series
I'm so glad you watched this so I don't have to. Hearing that Fury was back I had hoped that Disney would change the awful treatment given to him in the Craptain Marvel movie and we'd get an awesome show with Fury saving the planet again, etc. Instead we get a half arsed show with so many ludicrous plot holes that you point out in your video. When my free period for Disney+ ends courtesy of a Samsung Phone upgrade I won't be paying to extend it, that's for sure.
it's like walking into a car-tire dealership, paying top-dollar and end up getting rethread tires...and the threads are already well worn out...no thanks, I'll just walk...
The Fury depicted in Captain Marvel completely killed his aura. This show is merely just dragging the corpse. Remember when we all thought Fury was a badass super spy with a mysterious and intriguing past? Yeah... Those were the good ol' days.
The director was chosen because of his race, not his talent. .. I said it. Guy has nothing of note in his portfolio And the show is an excuse to talk about representation and immigrants. This is DOA for me.
This is the dumbest conflict ever. The Skrulls are an advanced alien race up there with the Kree and Nova Corp. Why in the blue hell do they need Earth to give them a new planet and by what authority would we be able to do so?!
"Please the audience"? The lastest tv-show in the MCU was She-hulk and that must have been intended to alienate the majority of it's audience, the ones who are not stunning and brave, so I would suspect that this is their goal here too.
I'm getting a bit sick of all these shows that come out and have the same trope. Now I grant you, if they had done this 10 years ago, Samuel L Jackson would be the man to play washed up old man well. But it would have been fresh. Now the only way decent male actors can get a lead role is if they are shat upon by most of the cast. It is incredibly boring.
The bomb(s) went off pretty close. They were supposed to be dirty bombs. They don’t seem worried about that. Guess that goes back to they (the writers) must think “dirty bomb” is a bomb in need of a bath.
@Disparu ..16:30... For the record, it's fairly easy to get imported Yorkshire Gold! Hell I can even get you Heinz baked beans for your toast.... the problem is scones....IMPOSSIBLE to get scones except in Seattle area.
There are a couple of things that they could develop into something interesting: 1) The Nick Fury not being what he was before the Blip, that he is a "new" Nick Fury. What if he actually has been changed somehow, that he isn't the same person as he was before, that could turn into an interesting side story. 2) What happend to Martin Freeman's "real" character? Is he dead (probably, they can't afford him) or is he held prisoner somewhere? Then again it's Disney so I have no expectations. On that note I had no expectations going in so I thought it was a passable first episode, however MCU has a tendency to disappoint sooner or later. Someone called it the "Andor of Marvel" and that's a pretty suitable description of it. Oh, and why would it be a problem if every Skrull looked like Kate Beckinsale..? That's a show I'd like to see😉
So they are destroying nick fury for getting snapped out of existence that was out of his control and because he was making defenses for earth and that carol is still useless as ever in which she hardly ever helps when there is something serious happening on earth and the only way to communicate to her is a damn pager.
Not only is he lucky he brought his infrared glasses, he's also really lucky that the laws of physics conveniently changed to eliminate all other infrared light. All heat is absent from the world and the sun suddenly lacks half its light wavelength.
Weird how it's Nick Fury fault for not being able to give the Skrulls some where to live when the space travelling Captain Marvel would probably be able to find somewhere for them to go and considering she probably killed alot of them even though yes she was tricked, should still be something to give back to them.
I’m just really confused as to how Argentina apparently attack Colombia considering there serval thousand miles away from each of and then for Colombia to attack the Philippines which is on the other side of the world.
yea in the comics shield agents have the best equipment on the world, most of it designed and constructed by tony stark, much of which was alien tech from the many visits to earth by the aliens that have been fought by the superheroes.

Yes, tea in the US is terrible because the most popular blend is "Tea Warehouse Floor Sweepings" and I'm serious - it has the pungent bouquet of forklift tires.
Were you eating Flaming Hot Doritos? I can see a tell-tale stain on the fingers of your right hand. 😀
Besides, he's a crazy lefty anyway, so good, in glad this show makes him look even more lazy than he usually does
_"Argentina attacks Colombia."_
Er, those two countries don't share a land border. So how exactly did this attack take place? Did Argentina march its army through Bolivia and then Peru or Brazil to get there? Or did the Argentine navy sail around Cape Horn and launch a seaborne invasion?
_"Colombia attacks the Philippines."_
Uh, those two countries are separated by about *10,000 miles* of Pacific Ocean. How the hell did that attack take place? Neither country has much in the way of naval forces that could conduct or support any sort of military action against the other.
Did no one involved in this show look at an atlas before picking the fighting countries?

Well, of course we can't have stabilished male characters having a lead role now, can we? Not even being a black man could save Nick Fury, he isn't gender fluid enough to lead.
I'm convinced that these are writers who really want to make "dark/gritty/nuanced/adult" content but the only thing they'll get paid for is superhero content so they hammer their "vision" into a marvel show where it does not belong.
Cat scratch fever already destroyed Nick Fury.
He hasn't been the same since that movie.
He destroyed himself with his laziness and total lack of acting range
Martin Freeman however deserves better than this trash. He's actually a good actor

Seeing myself change still freaks me out.

They even gave Nick Fury the same grizzled beard as Logan.
I love Logan. Such a great film and a fitting send off for such a badass.
Uhmmm... If your body starts failing, you are by definition past your prime. You might still be good at what you do, but it isn't your prime.
The sad thing is that a story and characters can only be as smart as the writer and these writers' brains are an old pile of manure.

During the scene in the scrull refuge we are told there are only around 500 scrulls with them
Why exactly do they need to take over the whole world for that many numbers?
The original secret invasion was a proper invasion but in the MCU the scrulls are show as refugees trying to find a new home
Just give them like an apartment complex in new york and you can probably fit all of them
I mean... They gave Asgardians an entire town. And they numbered in tens of thousands. Just give Skrulls a village and you're done.

Even the plot point where the Skrulls feel betrayed by Nick fury because they were promised a home is so similar to the Picard plot device regarding the Romulans. Fury knew that already. He assembled a team comprised of almost entirely people who were stronger than him. Hell, that was a REQUIREMENT FOR ADMISSION. "A group of extraordinary people... to fight the battles that we never could."
And guess what? Fury STILL managed to treat em all like his bitches. He was literally two of 'em's boss, he kept a cool head amid a Hulk attack, he stood up to Thor TO HIS FACE several times, he got Cap back in the game and he was the first guy we ever saw give as good as he got when it came to verbal sparring with Tony freakin Stark.

EDIT: I feel like if I was a rebellious shapeshifting alien, I wouldn't join a rebellion so much as just kill and replace someone that both has a better life but also is unimportant to organizations like SHIELD/SWORD.

Welcome to the season premiere of "Disparu losing his mind".
Did I miss something about the blip? I thought those blipped lost no time, like they were there one minute, then back the next. So what could have happened to Nick Fury during the blip that changed him if there was nothing to go through?
I'm pretty sure spook was once an insult against black people or something, but I'm also pretty sure no one has unironically been called that as a racial slur for longer than I've been alive, and I'm forty.
I'm in my mid-fifties and I remember it coming up from time to time in my youth. It was very much a slur. I can see where Disparu might not have heard it before, though.
What choice did they have, he's a male Disney character.
I love how Disparu looks like he literally just rolled out of bed and got straight to recording. MVP 👏👏👏
So since Fury was near the explosion of 3 dirty bombs, wouldn't he be completely irradiated?
It's really a shame what they are doing to their legacy characters. Saying to Nick Fury's face, "You're not ready for this," multiple times is just sad. Oh my God, Nick Fury swallowed his pride when they needed to put down SHIELD in CA: Winter Soldier, and he faced the fact that they couldn't rebuild it again. He knows that there are other lifeforms in the universe besides humans, and then his longtime protégé/assistant/partner Maria Hill of all people suddenly tells him that he is not ready for anything. The decontruction of male characters in Disney is really appaling.
He 75 years old
Dude that's Maria Hill from the Avengers and Agents of Shield.

Yeah, I was hoping for at least a half hearted attempt at the original story. Silly me I guess.
I never read the comics and I was still disappointed. The premise seemed so cool, and yet the show looks so boring.
no Disparu... the term Spook is also a derogatory term used to describe bp that I believe came from the 40's...
it's not just that though, it also is a term for any undercover agents like CIA agents or DHS agents, so you absolutely can use it and should.

There are a couple of things that they could develop into something interesting:
1) The Nick Fury not being what he was before the Blip, that he is a "new" Nick Fury.
While theyre doing a parody of all these stories, they should have one scroll tell another to become Nick Fury and he turns into David Hasselhoff.
That would be great.

Weird how it's Nick Fury fault for not being able to give the Skrulls some where to live when the space travelling Captain Marvel would probably be able to find somewhere for them to go and considering she probably killed alot of them even though yes she was tricked, should still be something to give back to them.
