It's impossible not to like this actor. He is extremely sensitive and talented, with the kind of insecurity that great artists possess and make them achieve greatness. You have to start somewhere, and it that somewhere gives you enough money and power to finally do what you love, it's not only worth it, but very smart as well. I like his films, he chooses incredible auteurs. He started from zero since he's attracting a whole new audience. I had a great time watching Good Time, my favorite film of the year to date.
I always find it so shocking how sensitive he is. He's very tuned in and empathetic, but it's also very clear that he's really insecure. He just wants so desperately to do a good job. It's arresting to see someone with that much prestige and so many accomplishments still look inward and try to be better each and every time he's on screen. Refreshing. Also - such an actor! They're all like that underneath, I feel, and yet he's in the minority for being courageous enough to show it.
Sensitive and insecure is like every actor ever
I think there's a difference between sensitive and insecure, and one is mistaken for the other. He's actually quite confident and secure. It takes a strong person to appear vulnerable and humble. You don't will a film like Good Time into existence if you're insecure. He's the one who contacted the directors, he's the one who inspired them to write Good Time and he's the one who carries the film on his shoulders. He's modest, not insecure. Many actors would appear arrogant but Rob remains down to earth. He's also just plain shy, which is also not insecure.
its because he's a cancer rising.
Yo you can totally tell he's insecure. I bet it's because he did Twilight and those other movies that bombed miserably. This is his only good movie. Legit. So he knows he has to prove himself.
He's not insecure because he did Twilight. That franchise earned over a billion dollars, it was a huge success and left him set for life financially. None of his films have "bombed miserably." He's made a series of low budget indies that were never meant to be commercial movies. As a matter of fact, his last 7 films have all been critically successful, and that's what he cares about. His films usually premiere at Cannes (Good Time, The Rover, Maps to the Stars, Cosmopolis) and they've all been excellent films. It's not his fault that the general public wants to see comic books movies. He's making films that will stand the test of time when everyone has forgotten IronMan2.
Armie Hammer looking like he’s about to risk it all
Yellow Rice this is the best thing 🤣🤣🤣
true
He’ll be calling Robert, Armie in no time lol hahah but what if? Lol love them both
LOOOOOL he doeeeeeesssssss
That didn't age well did it
Remove the audience next time
I love how engaged everyone is with Rob. You can tell they’re listening to every word. I’m glad he’s finally getting some respect.
I HATE the fact that they added an audience to this roundtable. Who on Earth made that boneheaded decision?
Fedzi Yeah. They should be fired.
Hahahahaha
Probably to make money from ticket sales or something
wow audience??? these actors must be really nervous then... it looses the intimate feeling also
I love that everyone's so focused on Rob when he's talking, looking at him with a smile and wonder.
Pattinson has well and truly proved himself to be an extremely talented and versatile actor by this point. Watch the Australian movie 'The Rover' and you will be blown away by how much he can disappear into a character!
I love how everyone is charmed by RP. Even the man who helps him push his chair in just can't resist touching his arm. And NO MORE AUDIENCE.
Yeah......let’s not have the audience next time. I feel like the creators say things more freely around their peers than with extra individuals watching.
He is still his down to earth guy that he was while he was in twilight. Love that.
I second the idea that Robert Pattinson and Margot Robbie would look hot as hell as a couple in a movie
Octavia Spencer is the best listener. We all need an Octavia
The addition of the audience ruins the illusion of intimacy, way to fuck up the only videos you had going for you HR.
that's exactly what I thought, the best thing about the roundtable was that the artists are among their peers and can talk more-or-less as equals, among people who do the same thing as them, and not perform the whole time, not be "on". the audience ruins the whole thing.
damn...lol
Leda Gocheva This doesn't seem to be one the regular roundtables.
the audience looks a bit creepy
Batman and harley quinn in one room. My heart.
yooo I never clicked until then!
love octavia... and love how she keeps nodding,,
Margot robbie:I'm Harley queen
Robert Pattinson: I'm BATMAN
He deserves a nomination
The audience is extremely distracting
and that moment you can see in everyone's that they already fall inlove with robert pattinson.
2:58 Armie Hammer eyefucking Rob Pattinson is the only thing that matters
forallyouknow if they have another movie with armie and rob in the lead, i'd pay my soul to watch it
Batman looking at Batman
he is like why did you take my role!!!
PS cant wait for matt reeves batman
khannak_ lol he was probably thinking “ you bastard, you took my role”
He's literally just listening
2:59 armie hammer thinking about how delicious rob would taste
He deserves an Oscar nomination
I really hope he gets an Oscar nomination for Good Time.
MrGMovieReviews me too 🤗
good time was one of the best films of 2017... and robert gave his best perfomance of his career.
I would love to see Robert Pattinson and Margot Robbie in a film! I think they make a really cool couple! He has grown so much as an actor, very impressed. I agree with all here, please don’t have audience.
Watching this after hearing he’s the new Batman
I just love to hear Rob.... 😍😍😍😍 he is just incredible
Most underrated performance of the year. Sad that it's doubtful that he'll score an Oscar nomination for Good Time.
They're all in love with him. Let's be honest.
Awesome! Thank you for sharing.
For my money, he should be in contention for the Academy Award, but I don't think that'll be happening. Amazing film with an amazing performance.
Incredible movie that no one will see. No stupor
heroes.
Loved him in this interview!
I like having men and women together.
lets talk about the way armmie look at robert...wooow
2:59 a new meme is born
Before it just seemed like interesting questions and getting to know the actors together so why ruin it with an audience and make it awkward and weird
I agree I look forward to the RT discussions every year. I love the idea of a live stream but agree the audience is unnecessary especially when these videos are watched online - we’re the audience. The focus should be the discussion of hot button issues and the process without the actors remembering this will be seen somewhere. Takes the magic away. There’s less interactions between the actors too which is only one of the great pieces to these (i.e., everyone cracking up at Emma Thompson and Oprah fan girling over Lupita). Keep doing more of these but keep the format the same.
Who's here after Rob got cast as Batman?
Look there's Harley too :D
The addition of an audience is cringe-inducing. It makes the entire segment feels so "set up". I know that the cameras will always be there but this has completely altered the atmosphere.
It's so interesting that R Pattz and K Stew are now both regarded as good actors long after Twilight... I disliked the book so much that I disliked the movies and by extension, and quite unfairly so, I disliked the actors...
KStew was a capable child actress in her younger days especially in the movie Speak, and her stint in SNL made me see her in a whole different light... I'd love to see her newer movies where I hear she is doing great work... And I hear R Pattz is great in his latest...
Edit- Just watched "Good Time" and I can testify that R Pattz is capable of playing, and becoming, more than Edward Cullen... It was a good time...
Please stop with those stupid nicknames. His name is Robert Pattinson.
"Do you see yourself going back to blockbusters?" 2019-- I'm Batman! :)
Such a cool dude
So now they're having actors & actresses together WITH an audience??? Lol!
lost droid It was done in the past--the combination of actors and actresses, as well as the audience, look it up.
He is so happy to speak about his career. The audience needs to hear more inspirational coming from Twilight I don't know if he will ever stop being himself
He's adorable
He is my Batman!
Es tan precioso❤
3:02 YOU. STOLE. MY. ROLE. AS. BATMAN.
*why in the end, i can't see Armie to talk ?*
You have to realize how good of an actor he is if he started from Twilight and ended up in Good Time, or Nolan's movie.
this is a new roundtable? I dont understand. I thought the actors roundtable was done
I love robert Pattinson
armie staring into his soul :))
His hair looks great here
Great movie
Robert Pattinson ❤❤❤
Where is the full version? What happened to you guys? Did someone new take over? Now an audience? Gross. Get it together. The whole magic of these sessions is the back and forth. Long attention span was returning. Single kill.
Interesting that two of my top choices for Nightwing are on this panel.
I am very happy he is Batman
Great film! Been binging on pattinson in the lead up to batman, although there are some bad movies, pattinson is not bad in them. Top acting!
Him and Tom Hardy are the only two actors that I know that completely immerse themselves in their characters when playing a role.
The jacket looks like the tailor is in the middle of resizing it.
what is movie that robrt with magii?
I've yet to see Phantom Thread, but excluding that (which obviously DDL is a big omission) Pattinson's performance in Goodtime is easily the best of the year.
Get rid of the audience creepy , where is Lacey ? The only reason I bought subscription to THR, was her excellent interviewing style. This guy sucks but is barely better then the previous english dousche bag that has recently been doing the roundtables. Bring back the true brains and talent for these roundtables. THR WAKE UP the roundtables are the ONLY thing that makes you dfferent and better then the dozens of entertainment media. Get a grip fix things now . As previous comments have said fix the screw up.
I want to see Phantom Thread as well, but I saw CMBYN and I was not as impressed as the critics have been. It's a good movie but it's not great, and Chalamet can't hold a candle to Pattinson in Good Time. Pattinson's role required more than riding a bike and swimming in pools while staring at Armie Hammer. Nothing against Chalamet, but there's way too much hype over his performance this year.
H. Madison
Not trying to sound like a douche, but I have also seen CMBYN, & I would have to agree with your assessment of Chalamet's performance. Don't get me wrong, he does a wonderfully competent job of inhabiting that character, but the outright adulation, the thunderous hyperbole surrounding Chalamet in that film is imho largely for political reasons; reasons I am sympathetic toward, but ultimately reasons that should not (at least in my opinion) be a part of any self respecting critics criteria for quality.
The movie Good Time made me forget who Robert Pattinson was for an hour and a half. Good Time is or at least as I see it, the high point of a culmination of some surprising turns for Pattinson in more art house fair such as Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, Michod's TheRover, and now here collaborating with the Safdie's I felt I'd watch an arch or a transformation of sorts where at the end of said arch I walked out of the theater knowing I had just witnessed the arrival of one of the grestest actors of his generation the transformative arch was complete, & I was fucking floored! Chalamet on the other hand did great in a role that suited him. Anyways, I see Chalamet or Oldman taking it, & out of those two I sincerely hope Oldman finally gets some awards love the guy's a beast of an actor!
We're on the same page. I like Chalamet and he did a good job (he's also friends with Pattinson, I wish them both the best). Good Time just asked so much more of Pattinson and he delivered a thousand percent. The Oscars and awards hype isn't fair. CMBYN is like a luxurious travelogue--it's easy to watch, where Good Time is a rough ride, grimy, visceral and seedy. The critics have also embraced it, but they don't celebrate it in the way they hype the "pretty" movie. It's annoying. I think it might be between Oldman and DDL, and that's because of their ages and filmography, not the performances this year.
Glad they changed the interviewer
It seems that twilight is still haunting him, though it has been few years already.
Esta rete prechocho este panel.
Why you have stopped adding whole video?
💜💜💜💜
I can see him play prince Harry in the future.
2:58 the hunger is real
He’s such an Oxymoron. He can look so unattractive (almost like a drug addict sometimes💀), yet a handsome Roman god.
It's his best asset! He's a chameleon -- a trait worth its weight in gold for an actor.
this is by far the most accurate robert pattinson ddescription i have ever read
girl 💀
Now its just another late night show.
I preferred no audience. Suggest changing back if you can.

Audience, creepy, you're welcome.
God made handsome
My favorite movie of the year!! (But please get rid of the audience, this is weird)
LOOK AT 4:33

this is the most articulate i have ever seen Pattinson.
You haven't seen many of his interviews, then.
I find it hard to enjoy the interview. The presence of an audience sitting in the dark is both creepy and awkward!
Feel like I’m watching White Bear, when the twist comes. The audience is weird!
They should've brought Colin Farrell.
I love this but more actors it must be so awkward for that crowd to be watching them from all sides...
Octavia Spencer always nods dramatically at these roundtables.
Why are they adding an audience? The most interesting aspect of these type of interviews was that the actors were in a much more relaxed setting and it felt like the conversations were more honest because of the intimacy. Sooo not liking this!
Comments section in summary: *get rid of the audience!*
Is it just me or his voice changed?
Batman and Harley Quinn
This is the roundtable of cool people, not oscar hungers
I like this new Rob Pattinson... He's actually a great actor but he'll always be condemn to that shitty vampire movie.
I wish people would stop dragging Stewart into every Pattinson conversation. They have no connection, they aren't even friends any more, they don't even speak. And the reality is, his career has left hers in the dust. He's in the Oscar conversation, he's doing these roundtables, he's on every "Best of 2017" list and she isn't. His last 6 films have been critical successes and 4 of her last 7 have been flops with critics and at the box office.
He has 5 films in the pipeline with respected directors like Claire Denis, Ciro Guerra, David Michod, Joanna Hogg, etc. and she has nothing on the horizon. She's not attached to any new films and her last 3 unreleased films have been with no name hack directors. Two low budget indies and one disaster movie. So their careers are not taking the same path and they have nothing to do with each other.
Yeah, but they aren't both making brave choices in their career (she's taking whatever she's offered, like cheap disaster movies) and he's working with some of the most respected directors in the film industry. I'm tired of seeing people drag her into the conversation about how great his career is when they aren't informed on how badly her career is going. There is no comparison. She doesn't belong in the conversation. They have no professional or personal connection.
You know that Anna Kendrick was also in the 5 Twilight movies-- and her career is going fantastic. If you want to drag up someone from Twilight for a comparison, try Kendrick. She's fronted one of the most popular franchises in history, Pitch Perfect, and she's had an Oscar nomination and a SAG nom, things Stewart never has. And I don't drink coke, it's very unhealthy. I will have a cup of tea however, and meditate on how the Twilight franchise ended in 2012 and it's so time for people to move on.
Мария Юдинцева but people don't hate him for that.
This would have gone differently without the audience...
not only the audience but the host makes it so uncomfortable too. He's like looking down at them all the whole time
question... Why is there an audience??? way to ruin a good thing
