    Almost every day I have a listen on the 27.305 USB from the Netherlands. Should be possible, few weeks a go talked to a station in Birmingham on FM 27.405 with only 10 Watt using a Wilson 1000 at home, that was pretty amazing.

    And so it begins!!! The not-sponic E skip is beginning and the HF bands are coming alive. including 11 meters. Remember 11 meters actually starts at 25.900 or so if you use the 11-meter broadcast band as the guide. Remember New Zealand basically the other side of the world from most of us uses 26,330 as channel 1 using the 0, not the 5 going up. A listen around dawn and dark the gray line makes getting them more likely. My many years ago experience happened around those times. Anyway, getting to the UK might get more regular soon. I like trying the FM 40 channels because local traffic is less likely if South America is not coming in, many Brazil stations use so of the just below 28 meg. frequencies. The FM users like to work the states also, even if the noise for weak signal capture is high.? Great contact..KEEP these videos coming !!!

    Same for me a few weeks back on 40m when mobile had stations from all over calling even South Africa ! Not bad for a mobile whip and running 10 watts also Indonesia admittedly i was on a bit of high ground but they were crashing in like they were round the corner .

    Conditions the last couple of weeks have been odd to say the least, I was on holiday in 163 div and took the radio of course, I couldnt beleive what i was hearing on the coast line, a stateside pile up , and a great contact into 91 div plus many more and only last night had at the home qth 2 contacts into 2 & 9 div , got to be solar activity thats causing it maybe?

    • @M0RMY
      @M0RMY 2 года назад +1

      Near the sea you'll get huge gain on TX and RX from your antennas. Its the effect of the ground being much more conductive. The next solar cycle is just beginning to show promise so at 11m and 10m we will start to get better DX for the next few years. Gonna be great fun.

      Hi. The group runs 3 times a day "most days" (not always every day). This is GMT times. 6-7am then 4-4.45pm and then often 7pm onwards. For UK the 6am time is best for low noise and distant stations.
