Regardless of what people in the comments think, rich people with an abundant amount of wealth and power would certainly rent the $70 million apartment. These rich elite people have a different view of housing and if they can afford it then why not. 99% of us won't even be able to afford this apartment and who is to say that if you are rich you wouldn't rent it. Clearly, there are rich people already renting an apartment like this. Why would anyone move to a mid western state where nothing happens, when you are rich enough to enjoy New York (the good side atleast). If I was a billionaire, I would definitely consider an apartment like this. These apartments aren't meant for the middle class and even upper middle class, they are meant for the very rich and powerful. I would actually like to hear the opinions of very rich people talking about these apartments and explain the pros and cons.

This type of place, with these views in this city with this square footage with high quality amenities, is pretty much valued at that price. I just cannot get over how bland the redesign is. I've looked at pictures of this property over and over and have just concluded it sucks. Yes, you want to downplay the interior so as to allow the surrounding view to shine. But New York is not exactly bursting with color. They really could have used Jamie Drake to make this property explode. When I look at what they did to the master bathroom, I want to cry. All that gorgeous, imported, Italian marble gone. The huge, hand-carved, marble bathtub, gone. As a side note, something I find interesting is, both the of the guest bedrooms are not included in any of the photographs of this property. I wonder why?

Remember folks, it’s Billionaires row, not millionaires row. Billionaires need to store large amounts of money into properties (and other investments) they can both use and earn a profit from. You can’t safely store 70 million in a bank account, so it is much safer to store in an overpriced apartment that is insured and almost guaranteed that someone else will want to buy to store their money in the future. Most billionaires never set foot in homes they’ve purchased as store of value investments.

300 thousand max for that. Not even a penny more. Based solely on what was shown here. In fact, I think I am entitled to a discount, just for having to steer away from all those obstacles while walking around the house.

I'd pay up to 10 mil for this. Another guy comes in and bids 30 mil. See how it works?

True that, they only say it's that expensive because of the view... they showed the same living room over and over, the house overall seems small and the view would eventually get boring

It's not the view, it's the LOCATION. One57 is located on the most expensive block in all of NYC. All your neighbors are billionaires and multi-millionaires. Expensive Michelin star restaurants all around, central park views unlike any other, 360 degree views of Manhattan, Carnegie Hall just 1 block away. Plus that building called "Billionaire's Row", the least expensive apartment is over $10 Million. Most expensive is a 2 floor penthouse with a private helicopter landing room for $100 Million that was sold to a Chinese Billionaire.
So $70 Million, is not for us, it's for Mark Cuban and people like him. For example, when Mark Cuban bought his $30 Million house, he says he only saw the house 1 time and it was only the outside of the house, never walked in and signed a check that day. These type of people who can buy homes like a Mark Cuban, buy apartments like this. Not us who are criticizing the price and criticizing the multi-million sculptures to walk around.

6000 square feet with a price tag of 70 mil? what kind of joke is that?

while all the finishes are nice, it is a shame that the original brand new cabinetry, flooring, basically everything was ripped out, as the lady put it.
I think these apartments should be sold raw, and the buyers should pick put every single thing they want, I know at 56 million dollars for an apartment, I am going to pick out the flooring, doors, hardware, kitchen everything myself. NOT the builer.
it is actually a shame that all the brand new, never used everything was ripped out. I get whya, but a hsmae never the less. I like one 57 the best of all on BR because the wondows do open at the bottom and i love that feature, where as 432 park doesnt, and I dont like the big square sheets of glass.
