I was really high on the A95K but ended up taking a chance and pre ordering the S95. I am a gamer and the A95's features are more tuned to cinema. I am certain the A95 will offer better cinema PQ but for the price difference if I can get 95% of the way there with the Samsung I would rather bank that cash. I also have a full Avr system so the audio is irrelevant. It was a tough choice but I am willing to give it a go (while ordering from a source with a generous return policy!)

What everyone seems to be missing with QD-OLED it's not that it has 90% BT2020. But what is important is that it can do the luminance (nits) for all colors and including white at the same nits.
For example a QD-OLED can do 1,000 Nits not just in white but the red, green and blue as well. A WRGB (W-OLED) can do the 1,000 Nits in white but the colors can be as low as under 100 nits for blue and just above it for red and green might be in 200ish nits when the TV sits at 1,000 nits white..
Hence why it washes out colors somewhat and also the perception of QD-OLED being brighter can come from that..
HDR Specular highlights isn't just 'whites'. At times it can be a red bright neon sign or blue or green. A QD-OLED could push a 1,000 nits, and even peak for a short moment close to 15000 Nits in these colors and white..
The biggest flaw it might have is the missing polarization of the screen so the black of the screen doesn't look pitch black when a light shines on it. But with lights to the side or lights off it is pitch black..
I would hope they would be trying to fix that part.

I needed a new tv, skipped the QD OLED because, while I want that colour accuracy, I think the larger format is more important for immersion.
Also, in South Africa, where I live; these TV’s are almost twice the price as in the states.
So I went for a 77 inch A80j to get the evo panel, Sony processing, oled and that size panel. It cost me over $5000usd. But I’m pretty sure a 65 inch QD OLED would have been even more. So happy, not happy I am paying that much but nothing I can do about that.

Samsung has Freesync premium pro and even though not officially supported with G-Sync it IS working. Because it's HDMI Forum VRR anyway which is what LG OLED is for G-sync.

Curious if anyone else is using this with a PC? I'm seeing that the image is shifted. Switching back to the onboard netflix app I'm seeing the same issue so I know it's not a pc/hdmi issue. There is a thin row along the top and left side of the TV that are not illuminated. You can see it with a flashlight. I'm on tech support now. They did a FW reset and the bars shifted to the right and top. This causes a real problem with the picture being cut off at the edge when using a PC.

Can’t go wrong with the LG C1. It’ll have the best picture performance and stunning infinite contrast. If it’s in a dark to moderately lit room, the viewing experience is just amazing. Realistically, not as many people watch TV in a room that has a ton of sunlight coming in, and many people watch TV in the evening anyway. So for the brightness junkies that are obsessed with nits, even though bright room performance isn’t as good as dark and moderately lit, the OLED brightness can be raised to offset that. After a year and a half of owning a 55 inch CX, I’m still wowed every time I turn it on to watch shows and movies, or play video games.

I am really wondering how much an effect that will have of the picture quality. the QN95B with Neural 20 Ai thread vs 90b with 16 Ai threads on the neo processor.
The price difference is that I could get a 75" QN90B for the same price of a 65" QN95B.. That 75" is likely to have a bigger impact than the processor difference.
Both TVs still have the "Adaptive shape of light" and " Real 3D depth enhancer" and so on. So it might be just the upscaling of lower content to 4K that makes a difference.
Even if it is a little bit better. I am still feeling like having 75" is more of an impact. I mean is it worth nearly $1,000 for the Processor? I think a lot of the cost lies with the "infinity bezel" and connect box and extra charge for it being "premium" etc.
Also don't know if I want to wait all the way to June, maybe even July to be able to get it. If it even comes to Canada at all.

I predict the Sony A95K is going to be the superior set, when it comes to pure PQ, color accuracy/science, motion, upscaling, etc. Samsung might have more gaming features, with a lower input lag, and more “2.1” ports…However, the Sony will most likely be the better overall set. Who knows tho. Samsung is definitely getting better, and seems to be taking some feedback, and trying to improve where they’ve needed to.
And then there’s the whole DoVi issue. I just don’t think I could go without DoVi on a QD-OLED. I feel this is where most benefits of QD-OLED, will be seen, based off my prior experience with the HDR formats. There’s just something extra to DoVi, when done correctly.

I think you misjudged how nerdy I am when it comes to my display tech lol. Or tech in general. Bc I was aware of everything you stated…Being someone very intrigued in QD-OLED, who might be upgrading this year, from my LG CX. However, I’ll probably hold off on QDO. I typically never by first Gen product, especially when it’s a first Gen tech. As a technician, I know the issues that new tech can have. And I just really don’t wanna be another early adopter.

I also as in gaming don't like the much slower backlight causing slow transitions in dimming that can take 1-2 seconds on the 90A. The blooming is worse and more harsh as well. All in all the 2022 "B" version fixes all of that almost to perfection. This is what makes it worth the extra money. Besides comparing last years models prices today isn't the same because when they launched they cost just as much as the new one does today.
The point is that QN90B has now come really close to being almost perfect and it makes a big difference in movie watching and gaming etc. For a TV I would keep for several years I rather pay a little extra and get the best possible at time of buying than save some money and have years of "It could have been better" when I notice the flaws.
QN90A was a nice first attempt but Samsung made a few decisions that became flaws in their eagerness to keep black levels. Also at that time they didn't have the new technology with the adaptive shaping of the light and more luminance steps.
The QN90B for being MiniLED comes damned close to OLED but retains all the benefits of being really bright in HDR and shadow detail etc.
