      with fall coming around i’m really trying to get a bass on a crankbait, they’re just so cool and fun to use. i almost enjoy them as much as a chatter bait or crayfish plastics. there’s something about them i can’t explain. tight lines!

    Great video. Buoyancy is your friend with crankbaits like you said. Some great crankbaits to learn with are cotton cordel lipless, bill Lewis Atv squarebill, and the SK HH. Cotton cordels can be found for $2, atvs for $4, and the HH for $6-7. I spent this past year focused on crankbaits. So worth putting in the time. I can now run crankbaits rated 3-5ft in 2-3ft of water. Such an fun bite.

    Crankbaits were never a confidence lure for me. Then I was fishing a local private pond in Central PA where I had great luck with Rapala X-Raps. They werent biting that day so I decided to tie on a shallow bluegill colored crankbait and 2 casts later had a fish. Caught 2 more in the next 5 casts too!

    I barely use crank. I only use it during fall. My to go crank will always be 2-4ft crank. It’s like what Tyler said. It don’t always have to touch the ground and that’s a fact. From a guy who fish bank alot. I suggested people who fished bank. Plz plz take notes from my boy Tyler! Bro will give you the best advice possible! He don’t disappoint! I’ve learned ALOT of tips and techniques from him! Don’t forget to subscribe my boy Tyler! 💪🏻

    This does help a lot I've used light line snagged my lure and then the line snaps and then the crank bait floated back to the top of the water LoL and then I got stuck staring at it unless the wind is blowing the right direction I can wait till it gets up to the bank and the I can just grab it but most of the time I don't have that kind of luck lol so yes definitely stronger line

    When i go bank fishing i resort to only topwater lures. All i use is topwater for salt because of the flucuating tides and i catch alot in the salt. When bass fishing i catch a lot less but thats ok. Id rather lose some bass than dollars. The bottom of ponds are very unforgiving.

    I also don't believe that theirs truly a weedless lure. Personally, all lures get caught. Even hollow body frogs, they're an accepting bit it's difficult to catch fish on!

    Hey Tyler, I live on a lake/pond in Ct that has the perimeter of a large pond but can reach past 20 feet. Theirs a lot of Landlocked alewife and Bluegill. Theirs lots of Lilly pads and weeds but Theirs also docks and submerged trees. Lots of mud to but NO rocks. I've tried about everything that's "Weedless" but it's doesn't seem to work. Like how a jig has a weed guard but stuff still gets stuck on the jig jead. Same think with Texas rigged stuff accept it gets stuck in the front. Thoughts?

    Hey tyler what are the essential rods for bass fishing from the bank. I have a 7 foot MH fast action that I use everything on. I have a spinning combo that is a 7 foot medium fast action that I need to pick up from my parents house back home. Would you say this is good to have the 2 rods or do I need another one and if so what do you recommend for a combo that won’t break the bank?

    • @TylersReelFishing
      @TylersReelFishing  Год назад +2

      Either 1. Web design and coding 2. Graphic Design or 3. Don't go to college and learn all that on your own. College is a waste of time in 2023 sadly for working in the fishing industry. I'm going to be actively looking for people to hire in 2024-2026, and I DON'T want people to have college debt when I hire. I know it's counter cultural, but that's what I believe

    I don't catch much on crankbaits in my river. The few I got was on sexy shad. I use squarebills on my kayak because its pretty shallow but they never seem to get deep enough to run along the bottom for long so I just usually reel it in and pause it every 3 cranks or so. I'm probably doing it wrong. Lol. Hopefully these tips help!
