Visibility of your EU ETS exposure

The EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) applies to vessels calling at EU ports from Jan 1 2024, with their emissions made in the voyage to and from a EU port.
Your exposure has a number of components to it. The ship operator (= DOC holder) is required to ensure 'EU allowances' are purchased, you probably need to ensure you can recoup the costs. The price of the allowances does not stay the same. And if a vessel is off hire, the shipowner will need to pay. There are fines if you do not buy enough EU allowances.
