Roly’s customer service is second to none. Regardless of how long they’ve been around they will schedule one on one to troubleshoot issues, they respond directly and quickly in the Facebook group and just take really REALLY great care of their customers overall. I’m confident that none of the other companies will come close to Roly’s level of service The chuck is fantastic as well.
I think it's important to remember, when comparing the price to S1, that the LaserMATIC has air Assist and honeycomb included in the price. Which makes it an ever better deal.
FYI, Roly has a new Roly MK2 XW Laser that's DOUBLE the size and the jig table is now available (to buy separately) for the MK2 and MK2 XW. Also, word on the street is their IR module will be released soon (which I heard in an unboxing livestream video by Light Source Engraving)....Great review!
for me, as a RC builder (which is mostly overlooked), I like the passthrough feature. Being able to cut larger size parts is something not a lot of manufacturers have thought about. The build quality looks great and when you ask them a question, they responds within 12hrs which is really great!! also, the jig looks like a great tool for someone that would like to cut larger pieces!! Looks like a great machine, for this price...
I have the 10 watt Roly. I really like it. It works great. It was able to cut through 7mm cedar. I have kids so I like that it is fully enclosed. Using its wireless, the Roly can act as a web server. I load designs onto a micro SD, make the Roly act as a web server and I use the browser on my phone to tell the Roly which file to cut.
I've got the Lasermatic Mk1 and Mk2, both at 20w and am extremely happy with them. Thank you for a nice review. Also on the Lasermatic, the rotary sits on registration pins so the placement is set. Hoping to upgrade the Mk2 to 40w later this year. Then looking at getting a fiber laser for metal marking.
I would love to hear from you on how easy/difficult it is to take the head apart for cleaning or even how much that is required. I have an atomstack and I have had Ortur open gantry machines and even with decent air assist, the head gets pretty crusted after a while and the fan at the top sucks in particulates even with good exhaust. This has, on the Atomstack, caused the fan to seize up if left go too long. Taking the Atomstack apart is tricky and I have had wires snap after long use as they get older (a year of consistent use). So I am wondering how you have fared in this with this machine?
No mention(not even on their site) of the maximum material thickness that can fit under the lens... When you start getting into lasers with power suited for primarily cutting that matters as 30-40+ watt laser will work for 15mm plywood and 19-22mm particle-board flooring which opens a whole other world as far as the functional tools and jigs you can make with those materials...
Was a out to pull the trigger on the WeCreat until I i saw your recent ranking video and you put this one at the top. How does the height/cut depth differ between the two? (Not sure if the terms are right. I'm asking about how tall of a piece can you put under the laser to engrave?) Also, how do the fans ability to clear smoke out conpare between the two? Thanks for the great information and reviews!
It looks to be built fairly well. The only thing I have seen that makes me hesitant are the pulleys of the y axis drive rod near the front look to only be supported on the inside but not the outside. But that could just be the video/pictures I have seen not giving the correct angle to see the other side. It would be great to see the end of the y axis drive rod going into a bearing of some sort. @@makeorbreakshop
Great review. My biggest concern is the ability to engrave multiple items at once.. like if I want to engrave 10 dogtags, am I able to do it with these low budget machines? Thank you for your review
In your option would this be a bad idea to use this as a take to the craft shows with me? I know it’s bigger but for the cost and how well it’s made can’t beat it. Costing less than the actual portable and being able to engrave bigger things? If not any ideas? Thanks
I'm new to this and I am curious you mentioned that the xTool F1 can do metal engraving are none of the other units really designed for metal engraving? I am looking for a solution to do custom challenge coins. Thanks in advance.
Wecreat is really trying to brand/position themselves as the Bambu Lab of laser engravers, especially with their new Vista. What Wecreat lacks though, is half decent customer service and accountability.
So, as an American, when I see the "Roly", I hear in my head the word "Rolly" or "Rollie". When dude says the name "Roly", I hear the name of the city "Raleigh", as in North Carolina. Is that just me, or ...?
Am hesitating between the WeCreat and this Lasermatic. Tend to lean to the WeCreate but first need to see what their price in Europe is going to be (expected in EU in March).
that's a great question, I'm not sure I should test it out. But if I had to guess it probably wouldn't be the best since the laser would melt the resin before it could cut through the actual carbon fiber strands.
@@makeorbreakshop I think you are right. I've been doing a bit of reading and it seems nothing can compete with a CNC router for CF plates. Thanks for the input.
Fully enclosed, integrated air assist, and camera all in one integrated package is really hard to beat when you compare it to any open gantry style diodes.
@makeorbreakshop I think @terryclair2914 was talking about the shipping bar, the horizontal aluminum bar across the front of the opening. Yeah the instructions have you removing that bar once the machine is in place. Great review and love your channel
Sorry you felt that way, I guess you missed all the shots of the machine in use. I mentioned the other machines at the end since I always want to know how something compares to the competition.

Oh great point!
Ordered mine! WX 20
xTool is now adding all that to their kits for $1999. So much to choose lol
I wasn't aware of Roly machines. I will be buying one in a couple of weeks. This one is now my pick. Thanks!

is it fast enough for a small business owner?
You forgot to remove the aluminum bar across the front. It’s only there for shipping.
Roly has said the MK3 due out next year will likely have autofocus
For the price, thats a fantastic deal. I would take this over my D1 pro an its enclosure hands down.
It really is an awesome machine
I really like this one but that Acmer P3 intrigues me. I await to see if you compare that particular laser to this one and the others like Xtool S1.
I did not hear you mention the bottom plate on the Lasermatic can be dropped for larger pieces.

Absolutely you can. I printed 10 usb's at a time. Made a jig out of cardboard.

Keep in mind, the Roly uses Lightburn, which is the best in the industry, the Wecreate software is pretty limited, at least at this point.
