I finally broke down and bought these. They are amazing. Only problems are the weight, I work long days and almost never take days off, and the wear time of the sole. I shouldn't complain too much these soft wedges have been on 6 months and they can be worn but it's time to resole. As far as the fit, I love the last, it really does feel more athletic, when say compared to a typical Red Wing last. I use special insoles that cost more than the shoes, and they seem to be doing well with that extra stress on the edges of the boot where I tend to see them pushing the sides further than my foot naturally would. The leather is probably the heaviest duty I've ever got on a boot. I rotate many brands and styles of boot depending on what I'm doing that day. These are the best boot I've ever worn, despite them wearing through quickly, but really If I'm honest, no boot out soul last longer than 6 months with my work schedule. All in all, buy them. My leather still looks nearly brand new, and I wear them every day, 16 hours +.
@@crispy4797 I was a traveling superintendent for a national contractor. I quit that job and move back home in search of a healthier lifestyle. I don't make as much money but I'm happier and I've lost about 25 lb. The boots still are amazing though.
I wear Danner Quarry steel toe wedge soles and bought a pair of these. They looked great but I couldn't wear them. They were too narrow and hurt my feet so bad. I called Danner and explained the situation to them. They paid for me to return the boots and gave me a full refund even after I had wore them outside a few times. They sent me the Quarrys I usually wear plus a t-shirt.
I own this boot. The leather wears like iron. They take a while to break in due to thick leather but they never hurt your feet since they are lined. I personally don't wear my other boots because these are so comfortable. I'm due for a resole after a little over a year of everyday heavy use. My favorite boot for my needs.
My favorite boots I’ve ever owned and by far. I also own a pair of super rainforest and bull runs and have owned a two different pairs of their quarry boot. I climbed towers in these boots for several years and couldn’t have been more comfortable, I’ve sent them in a few times to be re crafted as the soles tend to wear out due to the softness. Expensive but worth every penny.
I’ve worn the quarry boots at work for years and just received these in the mail today. These look and feel like they are built to a higher standard than the quarry’s. If they made these in a safety toe with a regular sole than I’d buy another pair for work.
Just bought these since my jungle boot danners fell apart at the seems literally and Danner customer service had mercy on my 2 year old out of warranty boots and gave me a 50% of coupon code 😊 Amazing above and beyond customer service 👍 got these boots for around 235$ wow
I bought these a few weeks ago and love them, only problem is I can't lace the kilties in so the stay in place. If you buy this pair of boots be prepared for a long break in period.
I have owned 8 pairs of the RedWing 1412s, but my last pair barely lasted me a year. They are well north of $300 now. I think I might give these a try.
I may have to go back to the Danner store and try these. I didn't even try them on because of the white sole but after a lot of thinking and watching this video this may be perfect for me. I'm a project manager for a electric utility company. I go out in the field and I'm in the office a lot and these may be a better all round boot than the quarry.
pakfrd once they wear out, take them to a good local shoe repair shop and have some black(hatder/longer wearing) vibrams put on instead. I had the white ones put on my quarrys and after 7 or 8 months they are pretty much spanked.
I ended up with the brown Rain Forest. I switched out the yellow laces for the black and brown laces. I absolutely love them. Got a great deal on them too.
The best American boot with a Vibram sole made. And I’ve had all the others. Take a while to break in, but once they are done they fit like a set of New Balance, they raised the bar for workboots so high that I won’t even consider anything else. I’m an outside electrician, and I’m on my feet at least 8 hours a day. These get the job done, buy two pair so you’ll have a broken in pair when you send them into Danner for the soles to be replaced.
You should do a review on the danner bull run 6in moc toe! Im a automotive mechanic looking for a comfortable boot, really like the moc wedge style. Also considering danner 6in crafter
@@TimKollat i got power foreman when they were on sale. I had always worn the quarry, but power foreman is better in my opinion. Lighter, but sole much less durable. I am thinking of buying another pair, and sending in for recrafting every 8-12 months so they really last a long time. Either way, recrafting is necessary with power foreman, but the quarry sole will last you 3 years without a new pair depending on how much you walk. I walk a LOTTT at work.
Looking for some help in finding a good work boot. I clean my boots off with a scraper, running back and forth and need to be waterproof. My current solution is cheap tactical boots with some decent insoles. Those aren't the best and last about a month. Help.
"Justin" or "Double H" square toe cowboy boots. I would wear cowboy boots at my own job if I wasn't working with steel and needed something more tough.. but for a farmhand you cant go wrong with the sole on a good cowboy boot
I got me a pair of the power foreman’s with composite toe, they look like clown shoes and I hate that, but great for work. I would like me the soft toe model for leisure soon
I recently ordered a pair of these online and I’m not getting them till next week. I work as a pipe layer for a sewer and water construction company. Would you recommend these boots for that?
No Name Found so far, my only complaint is that they’re slippery. But other than that, the gore-tex works perfectly. My feet are 100% dry. They’re really comfortable and the leather is holding up really well. Barely any scuffs even though I beat them up. And in cold weather, all you have to do is put a thicker sock and you’re good to go
Other than the sole these look a lot like the Super rain forest. Love the quote "it's got some balls" I have had the quarry and currently wear the rain forest and definitely agree Danner boots have some balls.
What would you recommend for general construction I need a boot that would be good for framing and going under mobile homes and that will not slip on dusty smooth floors
OK, heres my consern with Gore Tex in footware. Its not a durable material. Look at jackets with it and the stuff deteriorates quite easily at the nech area or where there is sweat and friction which an entire boots has. Of course they line the stuff because if they didn't you would probably see a bunch of flaking white Gore Tex falling apart. It may be OK for a cheaper boot you might use for a year but for anything you plan to keep for many years its a bad idea IMO.
I have had other goretex boots for years. I have had no problems. the Redwings 2414 are still going strong 3 years in....now I'm on to the danner super rain forest goretex....seems very similar. Goretex is a great material.
Great boots!!! I have 4 pairs. Gotten them resold two or three times each. When danner does this it cost 100.00 to 175.00 . The boots look like a brand new pair of boots. Once u buy these boots you’ll never buy anything else.
I cant speak for the Linemans, but while in the Marines, Danners were THE top of the line boot to get. They were very nice boots and held up well. I still have a pair from nearly 10 years ago.

The boot you're looking for is the Super Rain Forest. If I'm not mistaken they're the same as these from the top of sole up.
These are made in a safety non-metallic sole as mentioned in the video.
