Breaking a pair of bullruns in now .. very happy with them so far.. My Thorogood 57s are comfortable but I can already tell the danners will be way more comfortable
A black commando type vibram sole on those, and they would look even better. Seriously tempted though to get a pair. Can't stretch to the mountain lights ( my favourite type of the 3).
I have the exact same boot, for over a year. Very comfortable boot once broken in. I had a blister on my left outside ankle for a couple days. Now there is no problem.
Lifelong Danner fan having used them extensively in the military - I’ve had a pair of Bull Runs for 3 years - they didn’t break in for me until I got them soaking wet. The sole unit lasts well and is nice and bouncy! Not my favourite Danner boot though - my Danner Lights are much more comfortable.
I love the look of those bull runs. I hope you do a long-term review of them. Of course you made this video a year ago so I’m going to be looking for it.
Been interested in Danner for quite a while. These Bull Runs look like a very nice boot considering the minimal construction would probably lend itself well to drier hot weather. Will have to stay tuned for the other two.
I loved my bull Run boots. I tried their other boots like the mountain ones, but for some reason the toe box of their shoes are extremely tight and pushy on the big toe. I have no idea how a "mountain" boot can have such a weird toe box
Anybody out there with wide feet who havent had luck with redwings, danner might be a better choice. I wore a H width 10877 and they were tighter on me than the danner 2E. Thorogood stopped making the H width in their wedge boots which sucks.
I own a pair of Red Wing 1907's and would like to see how the Bull Run get on after they are broke in proper as both boots are similar in appearance, but I"ve never worn a pair of Danners. I would love to see how the two stack up against each other, because the Danner Bull Run is a mighty sharp looking boot. Keep up the good work!
The 1907’s are definitely better quality. Danner Bull Run is great boot for the money, but they have cloth for the heel counter and in the front toe box is cloth lined where the Redwings are leather lined in the front and in the heel counter 👍🏼
Agreed. These Bull Run boots are undoubtedly 'pretty' but from the vid they seem a bit mainenance intensive (i.e. don't wear the sole down near the toe, keep the stitching clean and free from crud, clean out the bellows tongue regularly). I appreciate that anything we buy needs to be looked after, but I got the impression that the Bull Run line need 'baby-ing' rather than maintaining. Just my thoughts and I'm probably talking bollocks anyway.!
They do offer a bull run with a black sole that looks similar to the lights. Not sure what the black sole version is made of. Check out the bull run lux versions
@@ryanbergstrom4314 Thankx....but that's a whole different animal with a moc toe which has a black version of the flat Christy sole rather than the same sole as the Light with the sculpted heel and Vibram Kletterlift tread. Someday I might get these Bull Runs and have the tan Vibram Sierra treads laminated onto the white Christy sole. I did something similar many years ago to a pair of Redwings that had a soft wedge sole. Comfort and great traction.
I always change insoles out anyways but once you start dropping couple hundy on boots would expect the insole to be better quality....even sears die hard insole is better than the Danners…….but the boots are great and insole can be replaced easily, one thing to note is quality insole will cost a bit of coin....$30-60 for really nice one
the mountain light 2s are taking a long time to break in for me. the sides are more pliable and have begun to actually hug my heel more (good). but the tongue is taking for eeeeeever. they felt like big old stompers until the sole started to become more flexible. i think its going to end up great.
Expect an update soon! The Bullruns were the ones that seemed to be of most interest to viewers.. to be honest only just thinking about breaking in now due to the crazy worldwide lockdown situation!
DevonReviewer THAT’S AWESOME!! Thank you! I have the Bull Run Moc Toe’s. I have been wearing mine to work and walking extended hours for nearly 3 weeks. They are starting to break in nicely. I also have a new pair of Red Wing Classic Moc’s, which I’ve walked maybe 2 hours in. I absolutely love your reviews and would be interested in knowing if the men’s version break in similar to the women’s, and also how you end up liking them in comparison to your Red Wings (both the 1907’s and 875’s) :)
Also wondering. Is it the brown cristy or tobacco cristy? On their website, the brown seems much darker but it may just be lighting. These seem too dark to be tobacco though.
As an American, I think the US flag label is going too far. I mean it's nice to know many high quality boots and shoes are still made in this country, as so much manufacturing has moved overseas. And I do prefer to buy American made things, whenever possible. But I prefer Red Wing's view on that subject. Their view is that it's OK to just know their boots are made here without bragging about it. The Danner boots are nice. I would own a pair. I think I would cut off the flag label. I don't need to show the world where my boots are made. My vote is for the Mountain Light. It appears to be a serious hiker with a Vibram sole and no flag.
The flag is a nice touch. I never seen it as a statement about being made in the US. I love ppl looking at my boots with the flag on them. And I’m Mexican American. Respect your views. Not against anything you said. You’re entitled to your opinion
I got the 8’ version of this boot. More comfortable than my Thorogoods and they look killer with some ivory laces swapped in!

That Bull Run is gonna look nice broken in. I look forward to the review.

I think I keep hearing Dainer. Do they pronounce them differently in the UK?
I have a pair of the bull run. Great boots. No time to break in. My only concern is the eyelets seem a little far apart.

I'll probably vote for the Mountain Lite, that looks more "quintessential Danner" to me.

I wish the Bull Run was offered with the soles the Light has.

What insoles do you use?

Thorogood QC and sizing is garbage. I’ve tried many many thorogood boots. Now to try out some Danner.
Is this brown cristy or tobacco cristy?
The Bull Run please!

I have never owned a lace-to-toe boot or a stitched down boot. Are they comfortable once they break in and do they naturally run wide?
Boot for life? Hahah my Bull runs didn’t last four months in my profession. They are cheap and easy to break in, and not worth the money to re-sole.
Do these run true to size, or should I go down a UK size, like I do with Red Wing?
Will you be making a 6 month review?
I don't know if it's the lighting or my monitor but Jesus, and can't see the soles...
Yep, I might have had the settings a little wrong, I can assure you in real life they do not blind people
What color is this boot?

i disagree. the flag is great.
It’s really that a big a deal to be proud of our country hu?

You're 100% right. The flag looks so dumb the way they did it, they should've at least made it in a more discrete location
I think the American flag is too small!
Cheap construction, overpriced and made out of foreign materials. Support American jobs and leave Danner for the rest of the world.
Can't even pronounce the name properly FFS
