Lived on the DelMarVa Peninsula until I was 22. I always called route 50 the European highway, going from east to west on Route 50. For you crab lovers Hoopers would be the first stop west past the inlet in Ocean City if I remember correctly.

How do you have a video about "Maryland's Eastern Shore's rich history" without even mentioning Kent Island?! Ya know,,,the VERY FIRST SETTLEMENT in Maryland? One of the first settlements in our nation's history? Very, VERY disappointing...

Because Kent Island is not in Talbot County. Kent Island is in Queen Anne's County. This is a Talbot County promo video.

@@MeredithFarms same here! And I’m a newbie to the area from the Bronx-now residing in Chestertown-when I first started visiting the E.Shore, I studied and learned how to carefully open the creature, crack the legs for the delicious meat in those 2 front claws at least, and pick different parts of the crab for maximum tasty goodness.

St. Michaels: a crowded, over-priced tourist trap (except for the museum). Go further out Rt. 33 towards Tilghman Island for your Eastern Shore adventure, or further down the Delmarva Peninsula.
Also, the lady demonstrating how to eat a blue crab wasted a fair portion of backfin meat by cutting off the top of the body. Much better to use the legs as the bottom of an "ice cream cone", break off each compartment of the body cartilage using the leg as a lever, and suck out the whole chunk of backfin meat. Then, suck the meat out of leg. No knife needed, either.

One can call it history I call it evidence in a crime.
