The way Lee Daehoon avoids Julien says a lot. He's seeing him as a real opponent, not for the technique, but for his height and weight. Daehoon is accepting that Julien is actually someone to watch out for. It's amazing really, and Daehoon is so talented.

People like Julien are the reasons why these types of sports usually have weight classes. Sometimes skill doesn't really matter that much when there's such a stark difference in size.
A bit of a spoiler but, a similar match happens in the taekwondo episode. Julien is matched up with Fabien (who was on the French National Team). He's just a real big guy so even in a weight class, he'd be at the top.

considering he does kickboxing and MMA like his brother, he has the strength and mentality, he definitely will shine (after he switched his skill to taekwondo mode or something)

Lol Julien put in good effort against Lee Daehoon all things considered. Lee Daehoon was being pretty careful - he's around 182 cm and 63kg so a good kick from Julien who's around 94 kg would probably still hurt - esp if it got him where there wasn't much padding.
Lee Dae hoon is such a solid athlete though in real life (ranked 1 for -63kg) and is always pretty quiet and serious so it is fun to see him on this show - he seemed to be having a pretty good time.
Good luck to him ~ rio is only a year and a half away now!
I am so glad to see that Chansung is doing better in Taekwondo than Badminton, I hope he can redeem himself in the next Taekwondo episodes.
If Nichkhun can play badminton well cause he has been playin it since he was a child, then same thing for Chansung when it comes to Taekwondo :)

Emily S Muay thai and taekwondo have different rules. Idk much about taekwondo but muay thai is known for their usage of the 8 limbs. Muay thai is kinda like kickboxing but with the elbows and the knees. All I know is that taekwondo has belts while in muay thai you can test your skills in the ring to see where you stand. Either way its so fun to do a martial art. You should do the one that you think is best suited for you and what perks your interest the most
Julien is amazing in everything for a beginner, and Jisuk flying was awesome! You could tell John had a very good stance when he was smashing the tiles even without the captions. Great potential there. I love the basketball team out of all teams, and glad they retained some members because wow, they are certainly athletic. Major potential in all sports and a good attitude to boot. More power to Hodong and team!
So Lee Daehun is pretty dang attractive and badass... Also Chansung Hoya and Feeldog look sexy in their uniforms. I'm excited that they are competing at something Chansung oppa can show off his skills with :-D

I am glad that Hodong gave him a chance to kind of redeem himself and feel better by getting him to smash the tile with his foot. He smiled a little after that. Before, he really did look sad.....

I thought Taekwondo would be boring, but I was wrong. Once I learn about the rules and the skills, it's actually quite entertaining to follow along on their journey to become better. If people are watching this because of their favorite idols, they'll be seriously disappointed. The only thing is KBS world are two weeks behind the subs and it's released every Friday now which makes the rest of the week on this channel quite dull.

Looking at Julien's results, I can only imagine what his brother does to him when they were kids... Oh, and go Lee Hodong!!!!
So thankful to KBS for providing subs for this programme. Having people who are not trained in these sports to participate might be pushing it but it also helps audiences to understand how difficult these sports are and how much effort goes into training to become a professional.

John Park-sshi~~~ Time for you to shine and surprise yourself even more! Great attempt from the rest. What I really like about this show are the coaches/masters. Hopefully this pair just like the basketball head coach, will give out good & wise pointers throughout the series, just like they have done in this episode.

yea it really takes a lot of time to learn Taekwondo... its kind of impossible to learn it in a short time and then go to fight ... I know since I learn Taekwondo ... Even for me it still kinda hard and me making many mistake.... For to learn and to be expert in Taekwondo, i think it might take a few years to be one...

I'm loving this show. I've practiced taekwondo since I was a child, but I had to stop due to personal issues and I this show makes me so happy. They're incredible and I think that all those kicks hurt the Cool Kiz a lot. And to have professors of 9 and 7 dan. Like, I would be too amazed and scared to even talk to them. Amazing. One of my wishes is to practice taekwondo in South Korea

I really hope Taekwondo doesn't turn into another badminton where it is clear that you can't beat years of experience. I loved the basketball segment because there was a chance for turn arounds. Taekwondo seems like it can be pretty one-sided - the most fun we'll probably have is if the non-experienced people manage to get in a hit or two. On another note, I'm really excited to see if Julien will improve. That was so intense and he definitely has to raw power to really turn this into a skill!

When jisuk jumped over the people and kicked the wood.. I noticed the editing was off. Hoya was there when the demonstrator was shocked and impressed during the close up, but when they do a full view of jisuk jumping, hoya isn't there and the demonstrator isn't shocked. Still doesn't matter i guess because that was amazing was jisuk did

I know that it's just an demonstration, but wth man how can they put them to fight with people way more experience. It's just sad to watch, it must have hurt a lot after they finished
the amateurs didn't fight to win, they fight to learn. even though they lost to the pros, they still learned something
it's a right decision to let them spar with the pro athletes since they know how to control their power and prevent their opponents from being injured.
Inexperienced students can also go against students who have more experience which isn’t really sad.

i love the show , my favorite K-show right now BUT i am a bit bothered by 2 things.. 1. dont like young children like the boy on shows. Children need to be protected and TV shows are a bit too tough for very young children. Not really happy with him on the team. 2. Stop choosing STRONG OPPONENTS! This is the first training and they go against medalists from the olympics ? i really dont understand this. Love the show but i am not sure about Taekwando yet. Hoping it will be good but i am worried. Cool Kiz FIGHTING!
I agree and I was about to say the same thing. I respect the sport, love the Cool Kiz, and admire the pros, but I am not sure that Taekwando is an appropriate sport for an entertainment show and the celebrites involved, not only the boy but some of the adults. For example, ChanSung has experience but someone like John does not. Even Hodong could get hurt. Let us hope that no one gets injured in this series.
If you're talking about child labor laws, then I'm also a little concern, however he and his parents committed to be on the show so it's not like they're exploiting him either. In terms of participating in Taekwondo on a team, it's actually a very positive experience. Aside from strengthening his body, it'll help him build up his confidence, endurance, and perseverance, as well as being a team player, all of which will help him become a better person later on in life. Anybody is at risk for serious injury in any sports, so I don't know why people are more worried about Taekwondo than any of the other sports they've played.
I initially thought the same as you, then realised it's probably better that they asked experienced and strong opponents so that 1) they can showcase the best of Taekwondo and more importantly 2) they are experienced enough to know when to pull back and not actually injure any of the Cool Kiz team

i have no problem with kids learning taekwando. its good for them. my problem is young children (around age 6) on Variety shows. I didnt like it on the show Star King and i dont like it in any other show. But its just my personal opinion. Just saying what i think. hehe.

Yes, you are right. Experts can pull back but it totally takes away the challenge/competition . Its okay to give them a tough challenge but they always get IMPOSSIBLE missions. Its a bit frustrating. Just my personal opinion. hehe.

It feels so weird watching this after watching the badminton season and specially the basketball season. I am still in love with the members from basketball season but I am slowly falling in love with the new members now too.
