    This is not recieving nearly as much attention as this project deserves. You're out here doing the real work, thank you for this. I've always wanted to play what was originally intended for DS3

      I promise I'll try to create a good experience, it's literally what I want for the game, which was not possible to produce due to lack of time.

    Sweet, was looking forward to a video like this. Even if you don't change any combat, having weapon drops be in different locations will lead to players playing in different ways with different resources they acquire through a non NG+ run. just something to consider

      Well this I can guarantee, items, enemies, npcs and progression will be different from Retail. =]

      We're going to talk about this in a future video and/or podcast, but i had some good ideas about how to make the NG+ interesting. But Abyss1ne didn't like it. xD It was a very crazy idea, but a completely different take on NG+ as a concept.
      We guarantee you, tho, the experience will fell very "Dark Souls" but at the same time it will feel like an almost different game entirely.

    I wonder if there's some way to implement dragging corpses, even if it's just one. Just for consistency with the fmv at the beginning of the game. Maybe consider creating a human NPC who drags some hollow around.

    I cannot wait for your mod, from what you showed so far it puts vanilla DS3 to shame. I was also curious if the mod is going to have different dialogue and if so, are there plans for including any extra voice acting?

      Yes, I will not use the ds3 npcs, I think only the firekeeper and Ludleth.

      I do like ghe ideia of having an Onion Knight. Patches will be, because it's an inside joke of From Software's titles, and I promise he will be important as a character.

      @@aquelesousa When you say an Onion Knight, you mean possibly not the same one? I always thought the way Patches was used was fine, but something about Siegward felt especially hamfisted.

    I have to say I'm glad this is supposed to be a true to ds3 mod. I'm not a huge fan of mods that just shove so many different new items and stuff in there for the sake of it. I don't particularily like mods with "streamer references" or items from other souls games unless it was a "bloodborne mod"/ "ds2 mod". I've been wanting a mod that makes ds3 how it was supposed to have been when I first read that pastebin document of the crimson bat etc but unfortunately I can't make mods ;D (Something I'd love to do though).
    The dragging mechanic would've been kind cool though if implemented differently, I like Radin Noushini's comment vvv I kind of saw the dragging mechanic as dragging any enemy that you kill but using a limited supply of something (broken coiled sword?).
    Can't wait to play/ watch it when it comes out. Would love some kind hearted soul to drop you the gamescon version because out of everything God's Grave is something that sounded SO cool. There was also the concept for wyvern peak or something that looked pretty cool (been a while since i looked into it all tbh).
    Thank you for your hard work, it's looking amazing so far. Making a dream come true even it's as close as it can get! (Glad you decided to share it with the community haha)
    One more thing, love the fact you're so passionate about playing a version of the game you always wanted to, I can rest easy knowing it'll be as good as it can get because of your passion and not some half assed person haha. But yes I'm excited!

      Seeing this kind of comment makes me realize that I am not alone. =D
      I admit I swim against the river a lot, since my mod doesn't try to please all fans by putting everything possible in it, it started as cut content in my head, and I try to avoid creating something that looks like overkill and artificial difficulty, and now that you mention about "streamers", I've been producing the mod to prevent speedrunners rush to get the highest damage possible and just blowing up the boss, since I'll try to deliver mechanics that force the player to comply or the boss won't die.
      About dragging bodies, in some cases it would be very good in case I created a system where the player would control the time of day, I have this mechanic in the mod, but it is not controlled by the player, it is changed during the progress in the story, but if I would get the gamescom, I can promise I would add it, since this part of the code does not exist in retail anymore, only in the gamescom, if people would try to find it for me and give it to me, I would put it in the game again, I keep looking for it until now.
      Gods Grave will always be in our hearts, and with what we have in the gamescom build, in 1 or 2 months it would already be playable, and thank you very much for the compliments, I admit that I am passionate about dark souls 3, otherwise I could not stand sitting 10 hours editing this as I do so often, and also I can't wait to finish the project and release to see people playing and reacting to all the content.

      @@abyss1ne17 unfortunately it probably won't always please everyone but I'm pretty sure there's a large group of us out there that is passionate about how ds3 should've been. It's so widely different to what we got (unfortunately) but it sounded like a game that was pretty much never made before, but we got a game that is basically just ds1 2 :(
      I, for one, am glad you decided to go that route. I, personally, just wanted an organic original ds3 experience with no added stuff from bloodborne blah blah. I understand not being able to just create maps from scratch though so just manipulating them is good enough for me haha
      I will admit, I enjoy making a big boy build and smacking a boss for as much as I can but I think that's actually pretty interesting. Hopefully it'll continue to feel challenging after many playthroughs instead of sellsword / straight sword r1 go brr
      Yeah that's understandable. It so annoying that the 'specific people' wouldnt just help a community out and share their stuff. At the same time, I get it, but I also just.. Don't lol. I wouldn't even know where to start as much as I'd love to help. Really hope someone reaches out with *something*. I genuinely think with the Gamescon files, this could be the best mod, a genuine experience without just artificial difficultly and randomly added stuff that makes no sense. Even without the Gamescon files, it'll still be the best mod to me xD
      How much of the mod do you think you've finished? I bet those 10 hours a day don't feel like a chore with such passion either and I think that's just the best thing in the world.
      I vaguely remember hearing about this a few months ago (the mod) but I never looked into it. Glad I decided to have a search around today!
      I have to thank you, not the other way around. I wouldn't be able to experience something so great else, even if it came out only half finished😄

    I know it isn't likely since you do not intend to change gameplay all that much; but seeing some love be given to the special weapons in the game to make them more impressive than generic longsword/katana/rapier/etc would be about the only suggestion I could make and not feel redundant

    I am SO hyped for this mod!!! It looks STUNNING, thank you for your work!! I am actually wondering - would Project Eclipse be compatible (fully or partially) with other mods which add weapons, for example? Or mods that change movesets?

      Heyyy man, thanks, probably not, weapons require very fine adjustments between parameters, unless the mods developers themselves try to adapt them

      Probably not, my friend. Not in the Kiln, at least, but it's in the plans. I promise you that, it's probably one of the early decisions of Abyss1ne for the mod, to make Sullivan's fight more epic, more cohesive to the story - and also gameplay wise, although this fight is already ALMOST Perfect.

    anyhow, nice upload. definitely answered some of the questions I had been wondering recently. That said, thanks for the video. it has cleared a lot of things up, and I wish you and your friends much success with this project :) Also, the visuals of this project as well as the bonfire sacrifice mechanics are probably the most interesting aspects of this mod, to me. I can't wait to see how this progresses.

      1650 se você tiver dinheiro, ela é mais forte que uma 1060, tem as tecnologias novas, e não existe jogo em 1080p 60 fps que seja lançado nos proximos 5 anos que essa placa não rode.

    Very interesting .
    I have a suggestion though ...
    Perhaps the " bonfire sacrifice " could be implemented in a better manner .
    I elaborate , imagine that there are several prepared bonfires in a level , they are rare and tough to get to .
    But there are also several other alters which you can turn into bonfires OR gain a large amount of souls . To do that you need a coiled sword which there are in limited supply.

    I have a few questions, are you gonna be using the original more Graphic fight with Oceiros, and also, are you gonna use the unused Crimson Bat theme in the Mod? Will you be tweaking Wolnirs fight at all? I think they did my boy dirty. Also, i’m genuinely a sucker for Souls music and It’s a sin that Crimson Bat is not in the game! I absolutely cannot wait for this mod to be finished! Your work looks great!

    Couldn't you implement the drag and bonfire idea by making only certain enemies have it? (and they can only be dragged to a certain point) hope you find what you need on data

      It is not possible to drag any body as the remaining code only exists on the Gamescom Ds3 version that Lance has, until he passes me these files, it is not possible.

    im hyped as fuck now, god this is just what i wanted, staying true to the original experience while giving a fresh new way to play the game. This reminds me of The Convergence, in the sense that the new areas and shortcuts that mod added were weird and didnt feel organic, i cant wait for whats to come and any new developments, im a huge fan of passion projects such as this

      @@arisumegoonly Lance has it as far as I know since I think there’s only one gamescom build, Fromsoftware obviously have the original build but those are the only versions, Lance isnt willing to share the files with anyone, most likely to avoid getting his insider in trouble.

    Isn't it a bit misleading to call it an "alpha restoration" if you are adding your own bosses and map reworks at your own discretion?

      i will not add my own bosses, it is just because many people ask about cut bosses from the game, there are bosses that were deleted but you find them in param files, these would be the new bosses like Snake Soul, Lonesome King, Dark Knight, Mother Dragon. About reworking maps, i will follow everything i have from the Alpha maps file infos, i just won't be able to restore more because i don't have the Gamescon files from ds3, good thing i have some people that can pass me some infos from ds3 dev =]

    I think you should keep the dragging bodies mechanic just because it looks badass and goofy as hell at the same time. Which is something that From Software manages to balance really well.

      It won't work, specially because of how collisions and hitboxes work in this game. And there's no reason at all to keep it. FROM's team loves to make goofy things and there will be a lot of goofy stuff in the Mod for sure, a lot, but they never make something unnecessary like this one.

    Realizando meu sonho de ver God Grave e Anor Londo no deserto, já tô feliz. Você pensa em mudar a progressão do jogo? Pelo que eu lembro depois de chegar em assentamento de mortos vivos nós iríamos de alguma forma para capital profanada por exemplo

      Opa Johnnes, sim, a progressao vai ser outra, Profaned eu vou tentar colocar atraves da passagem da Rotten Tree, a maneir que você chega em Profaned Capital é bem interessante USAHUAHSUh eu bolei algo legal pra isso, é o unico lugar ligado com Anor Londo no deserto de areia gigante dele.

    Whats the music for question 9 (about 4:54 ish)? it sounds like the demons souls theme but like no remix I've ever heard of it.
    Also can't wait for this. Dark souls 3's early development ideas seem so much more interesting than what we ended up with.
