Most people agree that remix won. It felt like river vs napom again. Factually remix won, but I guess some of the judges were the lower percentage of people who think Oskar won.
I think it was good overall. The only problem for me was that it felt like they had been told to be "overly nice" each time Kenny was giving some constructive criticism freddy would jump in and talk about how amazing it was.
Every good solo gbb bring something new to beatboxing community and inspire people gbb17 brought structure, gbb18 brought melody, gbb19 brought bass and gbb24 brought power after watching this i immediately started beatboxing again in new ways, didn’t had anything like that in gbb21 or gbb23, this gbb was inspiring and pushed beatboxing forward
I went into gbb not expecting much except for solos and loops a little, but i was not ready for all that lol honestly? best year for me Also can we talk about how insane the livestream quality was lol, it didn't even seem like a livestream. And I dont think the crowd was dead, just a little less jumpy than the european crowd. Has more to do with Japan's culture honestly.

Not everyone sits in front of youtube and listens multiple times in a row a piece. You tell me that you go to an artist's concert and don't expect to play their famous songs?

But we can't disagree on the fact that was the main reason why he's lost, come on. He was waiting for a long time to go at gbb, better bring something new if you want to win, but he only brought old routines that everybody knew. See the last winners, all of them brought up a lot of new stuff in the battles: d-low, colaps and river for example. The audience would be happy? Maybe his fans, not all the audience tho, as a lot of people are tired of old covers. However, it's the judges who decide the winners, not the audience, and, for me, that played a major role in him losing despite being more powerful than osis, quite clean, in time and barely made major mistakes. That's why I think that was a smart move, he should have known that, that's it. With some new routines this year, especially with the judges using headphones, he could have won for real both against osis and against julard as well, I'm sure.
With the technological advancing and improving, I feel like Loop category needs more restrictions. Maybe limit it to the loopstation. Why I'm saying this is because it's evolving into producer category. This was clearly demonstrated by Raje when he pushed a few buttons and walked around stage.

I just kinda miss strong personalities and variations in style. The only category that worked for me was tag team. But especially solo was so boring. Everybody just does spammy tech. Or maybe I´m getting old
you're not. i'm with you. beatbox kinda hit a sealing with sound discovery and composition and now the styles and trends are all over the place, forming this "pile of sound" spectacle. power was the safest bet to win here, rather than creativity, or just well made catchy songs. kinda like all music in general today. we're now in a time where we took a step back so hopefully soon we'll take 2 steps foreward. as for personalities, these guys are still young, and from new generation, they seem more chilled, low key. new comers. give them time.

Even Helium or Wing (we know Alexinho always goes freestyle) who are almost veterans were underwhelming.
Loops only annoyed me when people were trolling, mainly Matej. Yaswede trolled but he trolled with his words while still making an insane round. Matej made dogshit rounds with ok drops and still made it to finals all because trolling is considered a “battle move” like gtfo 😂

i dont know i think it was mid, like semi finals and finals were spams of drop and no structure at all. even more the judges made mistakes with the elims. and i think like improver would destroyed all of the partecipants

I disagreed with some of the decisions (but that's standard for any competition) for me Osis was robbed and it was really convenient that the under 18's champ last year won the big one....almost like it was a narrative created for tik-tok etc....but I know saying that will make people mad. haha
