All good that one and all a very fair representation. It does seem that air rifle manufacturers are getting one up on a fair amount of RF and CF manufacturers these days with respect to form and function. Perhaps because a more competitive market for the non FAC person and the drive for perceived perfection is far more cuthroat.
I have the .22 XS Extra (FAC) and it has a 5 position power dial. Had it about 16 months and used 2 or 3 time a week on pigeons and rabbits. Absolutely bomb proof. The 10 round mag could be better although it feeds without problems. It groups better at 50 yds than my 17HMR CZ455.
Fair review Chris.👍 I own one in .22 FAC and it is a decent gun (but should be at nearly a grand!). Biggest weakness (IMHO) is lack of cocking indicator (as commented on already). The power adjustment wheel is 'shit' and as you say, only repeatable top and bottom. FFS Air Arms '3' settings please, 12ft 20ft & 32ft. My magazine does locate and 'clicks' in snugly, (although this is not intuitive and could be better), but the mag wheel index blade wears and I too have had to replace this, (very easy job, but not the point). I like the simplicity of the mag, (nothing to go wrong really). Air power has its place around barns and buildings and when pointing up into trees etc. but id agree that rim is the winner overall when out strictly on the bunnies especially in a breeze or out over 50 meters. Nice to see something a little different; cheers for taking the time.
The magazine set up on a Air Arms has never let me down and iv had my Air Arms guns for years better than most top end air guns magazines 👍👍👍😜🏴🦄🎣😁🤞✌️
chopperhehehe im glad you like yours, the Weihrauch system is not only more reliable in experience, it's also less likely to fail from a purely superior engineering design perspective
Its pretty much the same as the s410 fac apart from its side lever instead of bolt i think air arms should of dealt with the small issues mentioned but instead just added the regulator and side lever still a great gun tho 👍
I've had this model for 5 years now and on still nights I'm taking rabbits cleanly with head shots at up to 100 yards. I cant fault this air rifle and I highly recommend it.
I have the air arms S510 ultimate sporter Fac about a year now and pretty much know all it’s ups and downs it’s ups are it’s incredibly accurate with air arms 18gr and jsb hades,it has an amazing trigger it’s really predictable and crisp and the laminate stock is superb. It’s downs The little claw that rotates the magazine is crap it’s basically a little blade of brass and weakens easy enough then fails to rotate the magazine....you can get a much better part on eBay that works great and is better engineered and ironically air arms make the upgrade part so why they don’t fit it as standard is strange. It’s impossible to know if the rifle is cocked or not It’s very easy to double load as there’s no cocking indicator But aside from the minor niggles i still would never part with it as it is just so accurate and as Chris said it’s accuracy would put most powder burners to shame😄
hi chris; very thorough and precise video . i have a couple questions first where do you set your power at; all the way to the plus sign are do you set it back a little like to 4 power wherever that maybe. i have the walnut stock S510 Extra FAC i don;t know if its regulated or not. don't know how to tell.. do you shoot yours with a moderator are straight like it came from factory. also; do these air rifles have a sweet spot. how for do you let the air in the cylinder go down to thanks
Brilliant video Chris I’m looking at getting one and hearing this sort of feedback is great.. are you ex squaddie??? You look like you are!!keep reviewing rifles well done Steve 🇬🇧⚔️
