I just discovered this channel and wow the quality! I am fully invested in the political drama going on and I hope that this specific scenario gets more parts in the future!
If I had to guess how this is going to turn out, I'd say that the Empress seeks peace with the Kingdom, and the listener's father was killed by the Eastern Duke in a political power struggle. The Empress found out about the latter on the night of her Choosing, and was rightly disgusted by this action from someone of whom she thought better. She chose to marry the listener both to foster goodwill with the Kingdom (as, presumably, the listener was in good standing with them as the Empire's envoy) and as some form of recompense to the listener for the Eastern Duke's crimes. This is purely speculation on my part. It just seems to be what would be most intriguing.
This is a wonderful callob between artists, great storyline, and beautifully progressed from part 1 and 2. I agree with another comment 10/10 in the voice acting. Phenomenal job
