This is going to be so useful aha, I am really picking with my sound selection. Picking out these kicks will make it so much easier than having to process it from scratch
Just want to comment that the quick tip about looking or listening to kicks in terms of their "genre" and also the general tone / frequency of the rest of a song is really helpful. I had a soul song I was working on where I was struggling to find the right kick. Realized my main problem was that my track sounded bright and I was looking for kick to counter the brightness by sounding deep. It ended up working a lot better to use a kick that was a bit brighter and better matched the song.
Thanks for the pack, I wish this worked as good as it seems like it wld lol! But I never turn down a good kick pack. If I had one tip it would be to start your beat w kick and 808/bass line in mono then build chords off bass and drums off kick!
I run an instance of ableton in the back ground using a vocal processing chain. That way I can have all my mastering on in logic without having to deal with latency from heavy plugins etc. My chain for vocals is: compressor (fast attack), de esser, eq, compressor (slow attack opto).
Uhh, if you exported the kicks straight from songs, you’re basicly on a moral gray area, and possibly breaching the licences of the original samples, even if you recreated some oomph yourself and reselling for free. You’re also using names of real artists and songs to promote your brand. If apple and Slate can’t mention ”LA-2A”, why can you mention ”Dua Lipa”? I really appreciate and love your work and samples but I don’t know how I feel about this. Still downloading it tho😏
Hey! Yeah I that a lot of though before making this pack. Here’s where I landed. So couple things to unpack here: 1.) using artist names to promote my brand - this is no different than the thousands of RUclips tutorials out there (mine included) That are “how to make “insert artist name or song”. Slate can’t mention the La 2a because it’s a trademarked product that they are copying. Slate would also be making a competing product that is at odds with a trademark. That’s why those companies don’t do that. Dua lipa cant trademark the kick in her songs, and This free download is not competing against her. No one is going to say, “well I have the kick from physical, so I don’t need to ever listen to that song again”. As long as it’s not libel or slanderous in nature or using verbiage to sound like it’s a partnership or joint venture, you can freely mention artists name as it pertains to your art. It would be akin to being interviewed about your new song and being asked about what inspired it. You could mention that you were inspired by a song by your favorite artist etc. 2.) we did not export kicks straight from songs. That would sound horrible. The general process was to isolate the kick as much as possible, and then recreate it. Similar to how i remake presets in a synth. Isolating the kicks lets you hear the various components of the kick, the length, layers etc and then it’s easier to remake accurately. A lot of the house artists just use pretty basic drum machine kicks same with the pop artists. Weekend is using the lin drum a lot. I have a lin drum as well as a 707,808, and 909 so remaking those wasn’t too hard at all.
@@EchoSoundWorks oh nice. Thanks for replying so quickly! Regarding 2) it’s great to hear that you’re first isolting, then recreating. In the video you said you’re basicly doing it the way the isolation is done in your other video, that’s why I thought it’s the method. Good that it’s not the case and you’re keeping your standards high! Regarding 1), I’m sure there are situations where artists have a similar position to a trademark, and you can’t use their namesake unless it’s agreed upon. But good to hear again, that you’ve done the research and it’s not a problem in this case! Love your stuff. Wish you all the best! P.S. can you fix Brazen plugin! Some samples won’t play release if you close plugin window! I’ll try to isolate the case and send you details.
@@TrueGritProductions the responsibility of buyer and seller is different, obviously. In the case of a free product as well. But Shane / someone responded very throughly to my conserns above, so no problem.
curious how this is all legal... extracting kicks from commercial releases. and then using them in commercial releases. how would you or your users who download this pack who then use them for commercial use, not be subject to legal ramifications?
I didn’t extract them and toss them in the pack. I isolated them so I could see and hear the transient and body of the kick and then remade them using kick 2, serum and uvi falcon.
Most aren’t stereo though. They might load up into a daw looking like a stereo channel, but pull up a eq with a spectrum analyzer and a phase meter and you’ll see that most are mono. Some of the artists like flume and illlenim and San holo, their kicks are stereo. And then some of the house style kicks have a slight stereo filed in the transient only so just the high frequencies
I masked the artist image on a folder icon in photoshop and then made that the photo for the icon (on Mac you open the image, cmd A and hit cmd C) then right click on the folder and select the icon at the top and hit cmd V

Could you make a video showing how you record your internal audio from Logic for videos?
I run an instance of ableton in the back ground using a vocal processing chain.

thk.
You are cool
why I don't have any artist photos on my each files

Bro i request for jungle terror you can create :)
What is with copyright?
Are the sounds they made not protected?
I made all of the drums from scratch using kick 2 and uvi falcon with some samples layered here and there. They are all royalty free 👍
@@EchoSoundWorks Ok, thank you. I btw asked, because you said "extracted", so I was a little bit worried
Haha that's why there's no Deadmau5 kicks in your pack! lol golden

do these work on FL studio?
Yeah! They’re just wav files, so any daw can use em
How do you get the images on the folder icons like that?
