I had the chance to see Interpol live in 2017 when they were touring for the 15th anniversary of this album and they performed all the songs, it was sooo good 👌🏻 from that moment on, this became my favorite album. If you want to check out more Interpol music, I recommend you their second album, Antics :)
I probably had the same reaction when I first listened to this álbum (2011 maybe?) when i was on highschool. It was such a punch an instant conection, no matter how many times I've heard it durin 13 years it always sounds refreshing and relaxing to hear from start to end, not a single "regular" song on it. Interpol was never able to come up with something like this album even though I love their other albums, this was just unmatched.
By the way I got to this thanks to a random Queens of the stone age album reaction from you, suggested by RUclips. You have a great channel and felt so happy to see your reaction to this album I felt going back to that moment a decade ago!
The New York scene of the 00’s that interpol came out of was insane. Them, the strokes, the rapture, yeah yeah yeahs, lcd soundsystem, tv on the radio, liars, fischerspooner…on and on and on. Such an amazing time. The nightlife was insane too, and the cocaine was plentiful. lol
Back with another video ever. No idea if you have had this recommended, but i’d check out Black Metal by Dean Blunt. Reminds me of this album, especially the lyrics and overall sound
i watched this with my dad to get him into interpol, and he was dissecting the lyrics and everything 😭😭 i think he liked it too. hes only listened to Evil and he wanted to dive into their other stuff. ur so cool tho ur rlly funny…. new subscribbler 💪

Might be wrong but that's what I think. "She can't read" is her not being able to see what's happening to their relationship or herself. "I wish I could eat the salt off Of your lost faded lips" The first thing women usually do to dabble with plastic surgery is get lip fillers. Not sure if that was happening when this came out in the early 2000's. This is my all time favourite band, album & song.

I've been there with other great albums from bands I like or would like to like. But fortunately not this one, it was like the soundtrack for my life starting college, so I can connect with that moment of my life every time even after more than 10 years, also makes me want to grab a cold beer haha
Try Interpol- Our Love to Admire, its the third LP and at that time, was a bad album, idk why but the critics put It in a bad place... now that album its like a cult album, just like a good wine, It gets better with the time ☺️😳

NYC was written way before 9/11. It is about being young and disillusioned in New York. It just caught on a new meaning since the album was released post 9/11 and became an anthem of sorts.

I would definitely recommend listening to Interpol's second album Antics as it is also an extremely good album.
