- Nick Swift's Mini exploits in his various Minis are famous in Goodwood circles. Not only is he the reigning champion of the Revival's all-Mini John Whitmore Trophy, and gave us one of the most entertaining Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard runs ever last year in his 1275GT, he also gives that Blue machine a good thrashing every year in the Gerry Marshall Trophy.
Here he is in the Gerry Marshall Sprint, our reversed-grid battle for Group 1 touring cars at the 79th Goodwood Members' Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport. As he starts from close to the back there are plenty of competitors in his way to overtake, and most of them have much bigger engines to use. That has never put Swifty off though.

These young lads/influencers think they can drive, I would put money on Swifty beating any of them in any machine in this mini. Absolutely legend and highlight of every Goodwood season.
He seems to get “swifter” every year 💪
Well it would be rude to come to Goodwood and not put on a show.

In these races, you'll generally find two kinds of cars: 1.) Cars that are being passed by Nick Swift and 2.) Cars that are holding Nick Swift up. What a thrill to watch.
I actually only scan the Goodwood uploads each year for the Nick Swift footage! Best highlight of the festival ❤️

At 6ft 3 " I actually learnt to drive in a Mini . Didn't go as fast as Swifty though :) This thing flies

It must be so frustrating knowing you can go so much faster around bends but when the straights come up your screwed.

I thought that Nick very publically announced his retirement last summer? Obviously the seat is where he belongs
As much as this stuff is fun to watch, it is spoilt to some extent by the modern interpretation of historic regs. No way did any racing minis back in the day rev like that or produce power like that. Might as well have a 1300cc bike engine in it...
Real shifting skill not that silly sequential stuff.
