I'm new to this variant and it's Great, my second game as Germany I built an airbase in western Europe and 2 transports, landing 3 fighters at the new airbase protecting my battleship should it survive. Sinking the English cruiser at Gibraltar and landing another fighter at the airbase in Italy, adding to the defences. My first game as allies Italy became huge, I saved much of my English fleet but didn't do well stopping the Italians from all their objectives, they were collecting some $42 by turn 6. This would seem like house rules could be very expansive, I love free technology, just dilute the strong ones down and make a bunch, enough to get a free one every turn, every player, just pick it out and don't use the strongest technology until after turn 7, or whatever is agreed upon as a long game, then introduced them game ending technologies like bombing damages paid directly to the attacking player.
22:30 - Does offshore bombardment not remove pieces before they get a chance to defend in 1940 Global? In other versions, hits scored from bombardment have the same properties as sneak attacks scored from subs. Is it different in Global?
How substantial are the changes from the Hasbro edition as compared to the new Renegade versions? Details if you have them as there seems little in the way other than some "quality of life" improvements with no specifics that I can find.
