      I know right. I really like this. It's a chill video. Can put it on the second monitor while doing work or other stuff. It's relaxing, educational, and artistic all at the same time. I started off thinking I was going to get bored but I like to give content makers a chance and in this case, I'm glad I did.

    FANTASTIC VIDEOGRAPHY! Not only the setup to the wood bacon but the camera on the gantry to see the cutting process and several other shots! The innovative way you cut and inserted the middle slab was another excellent piece of craftsmanship and art design!

    I love how you show your “screw ups” such as talking about how you could have cut and arranged the slabs for this door. Make a thing. Assess how it could be better. Make the next thing.

    Its amazing, at the start of the video Frank's assessing a door for a pantry that's still an open space with blank walls...meaning, he's done the cleat shelving BEFORE the door & this door video. The video within the video skills are utterly mesmerising.

    At first I thought the pace of the narration was a little slow but as the video went I appreciated it. So many youtubers rush through their thoughts and it was relaxing to listen to.

    Just so many things to comment on that I don't know where to begin.
    That timelapse with the CNC machine is simply lateral thinking at its best. That "patch" solution to those little gaps is great. Those final slices of "bacon" on the frying pan... well, you got me laughing there.
    Beautiful, beautiful work, both the door and the video production, as usual only better.
    Also, I agree, sometimes some big thinks are better carried by one than two if they're not too heavy.
    Nice, really nice.

    So good I've watched it multiple times. Respect! You should narrate children's books because your voice has a soothing timbre to it, no doubt lubricated by lots of bacon grease! Thank you for sharing the fruits of your labor with us in such a professional production and yet casual air. Fun!

    I've heard of Maple Bacon, but not Sequoia Bacon LOL
    Awesome work as always Frank. I love that your projects all have a unique quality to them. It's like your planning process never takes the beaten path, but instead finds it's own way, and you solve any problems as you go to make it work. This is what makes a woodworker a craftsman 👍
    The same could also be said of your video work and editing, your video productions never ceases to amaze and impress 😀

    Could you have left the live edge on the vertical sides of the door? I don’t know if it would’ve worked, but I think that would’ve looked pretty cool. Looks awesome as is though!

    Maybe a magnet on that stopper may help keep the door closed and prevent it from bouncing back too ;)

    You could have made it a frame-and-panel door with dozens of little panels, so it resembles a giant waffle! Maybe that should be your next door project. You could theme your whole house on breakfast food.

    Love the contrast of the bacon-making clips with the woodworking! I also like how there are stories now becoming of every woodworking piece in your house! It's like a museum to walk around and think about it all! :)

    The crazy thing about doing something really special like this is that it highlights the ordinariness of its surroundings. Like that dreadful clamshell case molding or the plain hollow core door adjacent to the new door. Now you have a really awesome door in a drab space. Time to get to work!

      Yeah, seems odd the hardware was designed to have the door just bounce at the end. The rails may be stainless, so a spring detent would probably have to be devised.

    I found your channel by accident, but I'm glad I did. I love your storytelling and your cinematography. Woodworking is new to me as I recently retired from the USAF and my VA counselors recommended it for some relief from PTSD symptoms. You have an amazing setup in the router, but more than that you have the skills and knowledge to put it to great use. I look forward to seeing more from you. Thanks.

    I love sliding barn door style enclosures in the home. I have a few myself. But, speaking from experience, nothing makes a better household child-finger-slammer than a good ole fashion sliding barn door in the home. In the end, though, these novel, and stylish sliding barn doors get used for the first few months, then you just end up leaving them open all the time.

    Beautiful as always, Frank! We just recently installed barn doors to keep animals out of places we didn’t want them. Repurposed wood room divider panels and built simple frames around them to the width of the doorways. I’m so happy barn doors are popular.

    Both your projects and your videos are amazing. I usually watch every one of your videos, but I almost didn't watch this one because of the length. I thought I would just skip around and see the finished product. However, once I started the video I couldn't bring my self to skip ahead. I watched every second. You embrace the artistic and the technical, and you take your craft to a whole other level. Nice work!
