He was back at Glastonbury the other week after 6 years away. Downing cans of Stella, off his head completely, unrehersed, and puts in an absolute mega performance. Jamie-T is a fucking legend !!!!!
This song is pretty much the story for most teenagers in the U.K., late nights out, drinking in a random field on a Friday night, messy relationships, doing things you shouldn’t be and just the average mess of a Friday night in most parts of the U.K. 😂
Jamie t is absolutely brilliant live btw. A one off bad performance put you off. He’s the best artist I’ve seen live by quite a distance. Proper performer
Love a little Jamie T. I think Zombie official video would be a good track by him for non Brits, or Don't You Find. But I actually love his debut album the most, I'm just not sure it would be as accessible for foreigners as his newer stuff. Sheila was from the debut. If you got the money, Back in the game, So lonely was the ballad, Salvador or Calm down dearest from the debut would be good too. Also as others have said you should try The Streets, I'd say Blinded by the lights. Also the band Catfish and the Bottlemen. Anything from their album The Balcony. Fallout, Rango, Cocoon, Kathleen, Homesick or Sidewinder are some suggestions. The band The 1975 have some good stuff too. Chocolate, Girls or Robbers from their self-titled debut album are good shouts. By all means don't take me as some sort of authority on it but please at least note down The Streets, Catfish and the Bottlemen and The 1975 and figure out which songs for yourself. I'd also like to suggest a very little known Scottish band you'll never get recommended other than by me called We Were Promised Jetpacks. They had a song in one of the Twilight movies called Keeping Warm. Ships With Holes Will Sink is my recommendation. There whole debut album These Four Walls is great. That said, the quality of the audio on youtube isn't great. The songs sound much better on Spotify than on RUclips. Also, more Ben Howard never hurt anybody
Love this song, even though it sounds really rough and ready, its really well done. Brilliant vocals and a great sounding band behind him. Espicially love the bass line
this came out in 2009 (i think) and i watched him perform is live yesterday at an in-store acoustics and he’s STILL got it! he’s phenomenal! you would love the live performances of this as the crowd goes wild for it
Rumour has it one time Oloff was sat next to Jar Jar Binks on a flight. Jar Jar kept kicking the chair in front of him and generally being obnoxious, nobody knew what to do. Eventually one of the flight attendants came over and asked Oloff if he would perform one of his songs to calm Jar Jar down, and when Oloff began rapping the first verse to Doing It Stealthy, Jar Jar immediately relaxed. To this day the two are still close friends.
you gotta revisit Shiela but the studio version (not the music video version either). it's a really good song. like prob 1 of 5 songs i still listen to i was into as a kid
If you haven't already, I'd love to see your reaction to 'Thou Shalt Always Kill' by Dan le Sac and Scroobius Pip It is very different from what your expectations would be from the title But absolutely brilliant
The version you did originally wasnt the greatest live version, you needed this version first to appreciate how he switched it up for the version you saw. In our heads we can hear what he was doing where you had no reference point to make a decision off only what you heard and analyzed from the bare bones rendition. btw he is epic live with electric guitar or bass.
lol i wouldn't say you should judge all live performances like you should the media like right now. It takes up to at least 10 years in the can to get it right. They never fuck that up after that tho do they? Imagine just getting up on stage and having a bad one. Crazy stuff. Maybe on your original video you might have chucked out the video edit. Like you probably would have most of the time. Just SAYING X
I completely agree about judging bands etc on live performances but the Sheila version you did wasn't the same in anyway like the original... its very similar to this track too. Jamie T album is a must. anyway Guys, hope your well and thank you for a very good reaction. Listen to the original Sheila you will like it if you liked this.
Not on topic but I am curious about sport in America and know you are both fans of various sports. Do you televise any women's sports in America? I ask because the Women's European football championships are on at the moment and have been shown on primetime tv here which is great. I haven't seen any women's rugby but they often show cricket and netball. Do you prioritise women's sport like that or are we still ignored there? It hasn't always been like this here, women's sport has been largely ignored but is now getting a decent deal.
I think it would be on BBC USA at least Sharon after all the U.S. has got one of the strongest ladies teams on earth and don't forget the power of the soccer mom's.
His Carry on the grudge album is pure depression and Trick albums sound is more adult but a bit boring. Looking forward to the new LP its out in few days. Jamie T is super unique artist. Hope he wont ignore EU on his tour. But he’s performing best in England. Saw him once in Prague and he looked like its the last place he wants to play but has to. Super disappointing
I agree with you initial point, the problem was that there were wayyyyy better live versions. But love seeing Jamie get some love! His set at Glastonbury this year was amazing
That smile you had all the way through, is exactly the reaction this song deserves. Priceless. No words needed.
Zombie or If you got the money next.
Zombie is great
He was back at Glastonbury the other week after 6 years away. Downing cans of Stella, off his head completely, unrehersed, and puts in an absolute mega performance. Jamie-T is a fucking legend !!!!!

If you're reacting to Jamie t, you've got to react to The Streets

Daniel grinning his face off right through that. Love it.
This song is pretty much the story for most teenagers in the U.K., late nights out, drinking in a random field on a Friday night, messy relationships, doing things you shouldn’t be and just the average mess of a Friday night in most parts of the U.K. 😂

I listen to Doing It Stealthy when I'm experiencing existential dread. It makes it worse but... I just can't stop.
You need to review the whoke of his first album. Its fantastic. It sums up alot of people's teenage years loving in the UK perfectly
Awesome 😎
Actually goin to see Jamie tonight in Glasgow, can guarantee it'll go fuckin mental if he plays this.
Love this song, even though it sounds really rough and ready, its really well done. Brilliant vocals and a great sounding band behind him. Espicially love the bass line

If you guys do check out Tescoland, it’s about Jaime not being able to break into the American market. If you like The Clash you guys will love it.

Doing It Stealthy helps me to process my feelings about 9/11.
Very good, Zombi is also a good track.
Highly recommend Joan of Arc and of course the new album by Jamie T

The guy turned up off his fucking nut and dropped set of the weekend what a guy

Guys drop a reaction to fire in the booth mic righteous part 1 to start off 🔥
The Streets pls
Nightwish Wacken 2013
I don't think the bouncy tune in Jaime T's songs reflects well acoustically. Sheila is such a cool song...as is this one. Not listened to it in years.
You reacted to an accoustic version nothing to do with live.
