    OMG I love your zipper sweater! What I don’t like about many of them is seeing the outline of the facing, which I don’t see at all in yours. It’s beautiful!

      Thank you so much! I think the thicker fabric of the double knitted placket(and hopefully to some extent, my repeated attempts to pin it smoothly lol) may have helped!

    For your cardigan I highly recommend a blend of coton and bamboo fiber ( not bamboo viscose but fiber), soooo soft to the touch and a dream to knit with 😍 in France I buy it at "La droguerie", it is a bit expensive and I don't know if they ship to US but it is definitely one of my faves (I'm allergic to wool so I have to get creative haha)

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for the recommendation! That's super interesting, I didn't realize that there were different types of bamboo fabrics but it's helpful to know! I'll definitely keep an eye out for this brand or anything with a similar composition! :)

    I always look at pictures of stash and finished projects on ravelry before I purchase yarn. I feel like that gives a more accurate expectation!

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  6 месяцев назад

      Yesss Ravelry project/stash photos are so helpful! I feel like I looked at SO MANY photos lol - but I suppose this color might be difficult to capture if it looks different depending on the lighting and the color of the background, ah well.

    While I love the teal/blood orange combination, the sweater in those specific colors would be extremely difficult to combine with other garments, so I completely understand your reticence.

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  6 месяцев назад +1

      I know! I think if the teal and orange were both slightly different shades, it could have worked better, but the ones I happened to have are both a bit too saturated and clashing sadly :(

    on summer cardigans- im knitting a turtle dove cardigan in berroco remix light! Its partially linen, silk, cotton, and synthetic fibers! i havent cast it off but i can already tell its going to be my most worn piece of the spring/summer! I have a winter version in holst garrn which is also super wearable, i never put it away because its soo easy to just put on whenever im a little chilly.

    • @tangerineknits

      Thank you for the suggestion!! I just looked up the turtle dove - it's such an elegant design! That sounds great to have both a winer and a summer version of the pattern!

    One more idea about the flowery 🌺 sweater. How about making a plain teal and embroidering simple flowers afterwards? It can give a stunning effect and also you can adjust the amount, size and color is the flowers easily :)

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  5 месяцев назад +1

      Oh that's a great idea! I haven't tried embroidering on knit fabric, but that would be really cool, thanks for the suggestion :)

    lovely episode ! you really have the best taste in projects. Was particularly interesting hearing all your thoughts around the turquoise/orange cardi, even if it didn't pan out as you expected. Kudos for not sacrificing your artistic vision!

      aw thanks so much Vanissia! Haha glad that was interesting! I think I learned that when experimenting with a more "bold" color combo it may be a more helpful to pick the colors in person! And regardless, that color combo is now wedged in my mind so hopefully I can manifest it in another form in the future :)

    Sandnes Garn Line is lovely, and I find that it's between a sport and DK weight, and it's best suited for 4mm needles. I also love Gepard Wild Wool Silk, which is a DK weight 40% wild silk, 60% merino blend.

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  6 месяцев назад +1

      Ooh thank you for the suggestions! I have used tynn line and enjoyed the material, so I feel that I might like the line too! Merino & silk sounds like such a lovely material, I will definitely keep an eye out for it!

    omg the zipper sweater is gorgeous !! and personally i love pretty much all combinations of blue and orange so I think your swatches look really good together! but they are really saturated and vibrant... if you still wanted to make something with that color combo a very pastel blue and orange look really good together in my opinion, like a tropical sunset over crystal clear water :)

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  6 месяцев назад

      Thank you!! And yess I think you've totally hit the nail on the head, the swatches in the yarns I've got are too saturated together. The colors in the art print are also more pastel and less saturated and like you said, I think that looks a lot better! Aww a tropical sunset over crystal clear water sounds absolutely lovely :)

    Gia Sweater looks great! Its on my list as well.
    For the teal and orange flower piece - I agree the colours aren't quite right. I think they are too dark/saturated in comparison to the card. Also if you are really unsure about a garment in those colours for yourself you could knit a pillow cover to satisfy your obsession. You could still make a garment later if you find the perfect colours.

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes I totally agree that they're just a bit too dark and saturated! It's so tricky to pick colors online. Oooh a home decor piece like a pillow would be such a good idea!! If I hang up the print, it would match!

    Thanks for another great episode, I really enjoy watching them!
    As for summer fabrics, I’m not sure I’m the right person to tell, since I live in Sweden (where it’s relatively cold all year around! ;)- I don’t know how warm it is where you live though), but I’ve used Sandnes garn Line and Knitting for Olive Pure Silk (individually!) with great results, but the Line miht be a bit thick! Some friends have used Sandnes garn Tynn line together with either some silk mohair or Alpakka føljetråd (also Sandnes garn) with great results.

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hello! Thank you so much for watching and for the tips! That's super interesting to pair tynn line with a silk mohair or the lace weight alpaca! That sounds like a really lovely fabric and not as warm as using wool!

    I love all of your projects and you are becoming one of my favorite youtubers! I have been loving the Guernsey sweater for a long long time but can't get myself to buy the whole catalog because the Guernsey is the only pattern I would be interested in making from that book. :( I'll just stare at yours and dream lol. Do you happen to know where I can buy the pattern individually?

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  3 месяца назад

      Hello! Aww thank you so much for saying that, that made my day! Yeah, I really wish they sold the patterns online individually. The Guernsey genser was the sweater that I most wanted to knit from that book too - I wound up finding it in stock at least just as the book (without having to buy a whole sweater quantity of yarn), and to justify having the whole dang book I ended up making like 6 patterns from it hahah so it's worth it now. I am also interested in some patterns from their other books, but I know what you mean - if there's only one that you really are interested in, it's hard to justify getting the the whole book.

      @@tangerineknits were the patterns easy to follow? I'm an intermediate knitter I'd say. I hear there is not any hand holding in sandnes patterns

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  3 месяца назад

      @@Knitslip I think that on par with other sandnes patterns, for me it wasn't "easy" to follow but it was doable, especially if you are comfortable with filling in the blanks! e.g. when it says "inc," determining that you're increasing in pattern

    Good evening, I would love to ask for your help regarding the zipper sweater. I made it with no issues at all until it is time to pick up stitches for the zipper part. I find it rather confusing with the 24 stitches being picked up on left and right and then the knit up 1 stitch in a cast on and knit up 1 stitch in full stitch . I love challenging myself in my knits but this one I can’t seem to grasp 😢. Can you help? I would be so appreciative . Thank you !

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  6 месяцев назад

      Thank you! And oh I meant that since it's not white, I could potentially overdye it into a different color (like a green or something completely different!) I agree that I don't know how you would make it white...!

    on a different note, could you tell me what eye shadow and shade are you using?

    • @tangerineknits
      @tangerineknits  6 месяцев назад

      Of course! It's part of a Lancome palette called "A Parisian Wanderlust" which was a gift from my mom! I don't think the the shades have names, but I'm pretty sure I used the 5th shade on the top row and the 4th shade on the bottom row!
