I was at the SC/Stanford game. When Hidari lined up to kick the crowd was pretty quiet. When he nailed it got so loud in the coliseum. I didn't have a voice for 3 days. Good times.

Your post didn't age well at all. Fresno State was 11-2 that year with losses to Minnesota and Boise State. The next year Minnesota was 11-2 and won in a double overtime thriller in a rematch at Fresno State with Winfield AGAIN winning the game by intercepting a sure touchdown pass. By the way, Minnesota ended the season beating Auburn and ranked #10 in the final national poll. Yay...

Several reasons: 1) you like your team to win any game., 2) it was a good game, 3) and maybe LSU fans aren't aware of this, but very many A&M fans would like LSU to be our biggest rival in the SEC. LSU is the closest SEC team to College Station, we recruit the same area, we had a good series in the 70s. many people thought ARkansas would be our rival when we were together again in the SEC, but they weren't that much of a rival in the old SWC days. However, you have to win some of the games to make it a rivalry.
