Mr Schaffers is spot on. I know all too well the feeling of the knock on the door and someone asking my mom , When are you planning to move? It's laughable to think of them believing they were right in behaving in this way.

District 6 was a slum. The buildings were dilapidated and mostly falling down. It was a hazard to live in most of them.

Trying to justify the reason why whites demolished the homes where generations were born, lived and died in?doesnt matter if it was a slum,to these people it was the only place and home they ever knew.people of colour were forcefully evicted from their homes because whites couldnt stand the fact that people of colour had a scenic view when they stepped of of their front doors.dont try to rationalize what white people did to people of colour.get off your high horse and accept what were done was wrong😑

I don't call them whites are call them Europeans living in South Africa, and you're right in statement.
The European Afrikaners were no friends of the coloured people during that time.in fact they turned their backs on them completely, and wanted nothing to do with them simply because they considered Coloureds racially inferior mixed bloods not worthy if human dignity.
