"They've never been around, they've never SEEN each other in a game, but it feels like they've known each other forever." Yeah, that stuff in crossover fighting games and crossovers in general were absolutely badass and still are. Max is right about that.
This crossover was destined to happen. Everyone could see it coming. Unlike MVC which was unexpected.
When you meet someone for the first time and you're destined to stick together and form a team.

I'm surprised that guy doesn't live underground at this point.
He'll find a way to fall down a chasm or something
@@jahahahaha I thought nothing would top original comment, but you found a way
It took Geese entering the Tekken universe to finally have his stage take place on just the second floor of Geese Tower.
Let that sink a bit.
He'll fall out his window and then bounce off the ground so hard he'll hit terminal velocity.

Alpha 3 had Amazing intros too my favorite is Shin Akuma and Evil Ryu
I bet Sakurai would do just that with one on one fights between the two
That would be awesome if they did
@@Ryoten2289 i mean maybe
If Terry has an official gameplay trailer like Joker did, then Ken tossing Terry’s hat might happen before the trailer shows off Terry’s gameplay. Though Sakurai would probably show off Terry’s moves in another presentation.

While I prefer CVS2, this one has a ton more style
Totally agree. Better presentation, better music, better artwork, better and more varied stages. The only thing better in CVS2 is the gameplay and the character roster.
Well in terms of music i dont feel they do a good job, SNK music it's beautiful, but really never was Capcom strong point outside MvsC series, Geese's theme in This game was so lame compared to the original they do a better with CvS 2 but still far from Capcom or SNK standards
Yep, 1st one was better, also that 6buttom sf style shit was awful.
2d backgrounds looked so much better too.
It was beautiful that they used stage intros from Snk games. Such a stepback to leave them in Cvs2. Just imagine how a stage intro could have enhanced the experience of rainy stage and the Boss stage particularly.
WoW! I just realized that on the left side of the screen of the “construction site” stage (the first you played), there is the sane convenience store in the Ryu stage of SF alpha/zero 1!!!
It’s always cool to totally demolish the construction site 😁
I lost my mind when this came out. This was a huge “hypothetical”crossover when I was in high school. It had finally happened. The only thing I wish they had brought over from SNK or Capcom’s games were those sexy “sprite” effects. Was never really a fan of rendered effects mixed with 2d sprites.
I genuinely wonder how hype it was for people back before my time. People in my classes got hyped over Marvel vs Capcom 3, but I can't even begin to imagine the amount of dopamine generated once it happened for the first time.
it was a phenomenon , from the crossover itself, the characters, the music and the aesthetic. And then 2 blew everyones minds even fresh. The first time we heard true love we making ...man
I remember when x men VS SF came out. Me and friends talked about how crazy it would be if we have a cross of kof and SF. "lol never gonna happen". Well, years later, it happened and did not disappoint.
Shame that at the time fighting games were starting to loose audience... =/
I'm gonna sound nostalgic, but think we never had an Era like the late 90's for fighting games...
@@-TPLT I was in HS at the time and for hardcore fighting fans like me it was a dream come true. For the general gaming public in the US maybe not as much, SF2 was a phenomenon but SNK/Neo-Geo was still kind of niche, probably most just knew “oh Terry Bogard that’s the guy with the red cap” and that’s it. It just didn’t have the same recognizability as Ryu or Chun-li to normies. I also think the only reason it even happened is SNK was losing its relevance with Neo-Geo getting old, the rise of 3d gaming systems and probably was a last ditch effort to build brand recognition back or even possibly maneuver themselves to be acquired by Capcom. I recall there were rumors of talks but it never panned out. It’s actually amazing they’ve held on all these years even if it is technically a new company with Playmore.
I've said it before, and I’ll say it again. Where Capcom vs. SNK 2 excelled in its gameplay, Capcom vs. SNK 1 excelled in its soundtrack and overall presentation. It's a shame that a potential Capcom vs. SNK 3 isn’t happening anytime soon, if ever, according to Yasuyuki Oda.
This is the truest form of love we're making.

The graphics in Capcom vs. SNK 1 are so much better than CvsSNK 2. CvsSNK 2 looks terrible with the sprites glued onto the 3d backgrounds like they did. That shit ruined the game for me.
SVC Chaos was actually SNKs 2nd fighting game between them. The 1st one was a NeoGeo Pocket Game called SNK vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium
Partially correct btw.
The back alley stage is one of the best ever in any fighting game.
top 10 for sure.

CvS 1 has its issues but man the presentation for this game is god-like. This game was a dream come true for me as someone who grew up loving both SNK and Capcom. At the time no one could believe that the two “bitter” rivals could come together and make a game. Played the hell out of this one. Begged my parents for it until they got sick of me and broke down and got it, lol.
What a badass fighting game my God.
Capcom vs SNK series was phenomenal!
I had this on Dreamcast and played it non-stop for a long time. Loved it.

I always liked the jolting effect the characters have whan they block attacks too- the presentation of this was just so good in general. Wish i still had both cvs games.
I've been a fan of SNK way before it became cool, the first SNK fighting game I played was fatal fury special back in 94 or 95 and I love metal slug series
Rugal's like "No, get away from me! I'm supposed to be the final boss, why am I fighting you in the first round?!"
Back in the early to mid 90's I played any Fighting game I could get my hands on regardless of what company made it, however in Capcom & SNK's cases I preferred SNK. I played Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, Savage Reign, and World Heroes frequently.

I really hope they somehow include that Ken/Terry Intro into smash. Maybe like if Terry wins a match again Ken it can be added into the victory screen at the end.
Another Trailer for Terry having that intro will be enough for me if they can’t include it for matches specifically between Ken and Terry.
I’d think it’d be more like a victory screen for a 2v2 match.
I think it would be like how some of the victory screen dialogue changes depending on who's fighting (ie the Fire Emblems/Star Foxes fighting each other or Simon fighting "dark" characters). On the other hand, they could include it in Terry's Classic Mode portrait. I have no clue how they'd do it, but it would be cool to see.
Terry having a hat throwing taunt would be nice, so then they'd be able to recreate it in a video. Hell, give the hat a hitbox.
A moment of silence for the Dreamcast. I don't care what people say, I have some awesome memories playing it.
Dreamcast was an awesome console that didn't get nearly the love it deserved...
Dreamcast was an absolute beauty of a console, and what a shame it was timed so poorly against the ps2. With all the awesome fighting games, arcade conversions, and console exclusive gems such as Jet Set Radio and Shen Mue, not to mention netplay and a built in Windows browser that was ahead of it's time (for consoles), it really was a genuinely amazing thing.
Which is fair. I was never a Sega fan, but the fighting games + shenmue presenting a technical leap... These are fair examples that justify why people were so hyped about the console. But that's it man, lol the sonic adventure fans, how some people wants Sega to release another console nowadays, etc... They kinda tarnished the dreamcast good name
Wow what a beautiful game. The alley stage with the shadows projecting on the background. They even put a little prologue for the highway stage. The little details that stay with you outside the gameplay👌🏽
Wow, the shadows in the background at 6:50 truly look amazing
Always love Bison's idle animation...he's got that,"Ooooh, you goddamn kids Imma gonna get you for this!" look to him. Either that, or a jerking hand.
When I was young playing CVS, I used to think that Terry said, "I want a pizza!", whenever he did Power Geyser.

Honestly, this is my favorite version of burn knuckle. Also, dictator has this weird AI herp derp where if you knock him down, back dash, then crack shoot (rinse and repeat) he'll just keep eating it. This was my after high school arcade game for years :))
Man this game sure aged well like fine wine! I really hope for a true sequel to CVS2 to happen one day and have it look this great.
I'd say Cvs2. This one not too much, though it's still good and had a couple things done better than in Cvs2.
I Hope It's An Actual Snk Vs Capcom And Not "Street Fighter Vs Kof"

This is the culmination of an era and a rivalry, this game is amazing.
Both of them were dying, in their own ways. Capcom, only the fg dev teams figuratively. But Snk, the whole company and literally.
Kyo only gets engulfed in flames if you use level 3 or same for snk groove
You know with how SNK and capcom seem to be making a comeback, a new CvS game wouldn't be a bad idea.

It will not happen, these games only happened because it was a desperate move from SNK because they were about to go bankrupt, they also said they did not like working with Capcom.
@@andrako748 o, any sources?

First thing I thought when I played this game was: "Wow, SNK characters got REALLY nerfed."
Btw, before this, SNK had already made a crossover for the Neogeo pocket color called SNK vs Capcom Match of the Millennium; is a fun little game.
It must be Impossible to avoid that perception, since Kof has a much different take on movement compared to Sf. So Kof will naturally lose a lot on that kind of conversion... It's the Sf chars that can gain a lot by playing more like Kof games, as easily shown in Cvs2.
@@carlosaugusto9821 Is not just that, several moves from the SNK roster lost range, speed or were plainly altered to the point of almost becoming useless; off the top of my head I can name Power dunk, Kyo's qcf+k and rdp+k and Yamazaki's sand writer, not to mention the whole EX character thing that mainly restricted SNK character's movelists.
That's why I like more the svc chaos. Each band feel great. That just a sf game with guest characters.
The CvS games are absolutely may all time favorite fighting games without question.

What i hated about the CvS series is that SNK characters were designed differently than how they are intended to be in the kof games, not that they can't be strong.. they can but say by design only Ryu and Ken were designed to be the most accessible characters, with the tools for most situation when in the kof games, Kyo, Ryo and Terry had those accesibility perks too regardless of tier.
