Tony Fleming: The number one best documentary film maker of all time! Number one best narration. Number one best imagery, best music and number one best subject matter. Simply perfect!!!
Dear Captain Tony :) I just have to say *Thank You* so very much for sharing all of your amazing video journals of your stellar voyages... you have taken us all along to see what most will never see, and watching them has been truly a joy... even therapeutic! And I love how you invite fellow mariners aboard for dinner too, a true gentleman of the open seas :) BTW, I was floored @ 44:15 with the disclosure that the Night Hawk had reaped 20 Million lbs. of salmon for the 2015 fishing season - I can only surmise that this level of over-fishing is why we have had such poor {devastating} spawning salmon returns as of late here on Van Isle... I'm in Sooke and I could barely find any fish in the Sooke River habitat for the 2020 spawning season :( At any rate, please do keep the videos coming, they are the best here on YT.... so thank you again, and God bless you and your's immensely in every way, especially on your future voyages :)
I have lived in Alaska for 28 years, and my jobs took me to almost every place covered in this video. Had field camps on Aiktak I. in Unimak Pass, Adak I, further west, and on Agattu I. at the far western end of the chain, and was fortunate enough to visit most of the other Aleutian Islands. Also took care of a lodge on Afognak I. for two winters alone, and worked short stints in Dutch Harbor and the Pribilofs to the north. This was a stunning journey which jogged many pleasant memories and reminded me of places to which I would love to return, as did your segment on Prince William Sound where I worked for two years when I first came to Alaska, and was fortunate to visit much of the area by boat and floatplane. Venture is such a beautiful boat, and I do really enjoy vicarious travel with her via your excellent videos. My family has never come to visit and never will, so I am sending my sister A Single Step. Parts 9 & 10, as the best way to get a sense of what I've been doing for all these years. Many thanks.
Absolutely loved this series. All the way from Australia I feel like I have visited an amazing part of the world I could never have imagined. Thank you for a brilliant series of vids.
The voiceover is soo good. Sounds like something you would find on discovery channel. I can definitely take a nap while listening to this. The visuals are to good though cant close my eyes. Keep up the fantastic work.
My daughter just moved to this area actually King salmon her husband is working for the national park there. Didn't know there were so many volcanoes close by. Love all your films, The photography is just outstanding❤
Well I know what boat I'll be buying, should I win the lottery. A beautiful craft, wonderfully filmed, and with an admirably sparse commentary. So enjoyable, in these days of, fear of silence, and compulsive chatter.
Amazing what a beautiful journey ❤ . Your music was amazing and your voice is so calming ,thank you . Venture is a wonderful boat ,I would love if I could afford to buy, maybe someday my dream will come true 🏴🇦🇺 .
I just love the way you tell your stories, along with the beautiful videos you make. You channel is where i turn to always for inspiration, education, and entertainment. Taking us to places we have never seen before
THIS IS THE MOST WONDERFUL AND AMAZING TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY I HAVE EVER SEEN!. THANK YOU. - I watch all your Venture Boats trips (Aleutians, Alaska, British Columbia, Europe, Ireland, England, California, Idaho, New York). All videos are properly edited and perfectly presented. All landscapes, scenes, nature, blue sky, grey sky, deep blue sea make me feel so good. I enjoy watching all your videos (on my 72" flat screen TV - SONY) all time, every weekend from my home in Los Angeles. Even though I am not fortunate like you to circumnavigate the globe and travel on own boat, your sea journey and wonderful voyage videos have brought many delights and good feeling to me. We all ordinary people are grateful to you (Gratitude) for your generous and wonderful presentations. Thank you.
We appreciate the time and effort you have put towards this Recap Series Tony, Fair winds and following seas from another Crusier, Cheers , MVPAIRADICE
Thank you for all your fine videos Sir. You are a poet and man of action. In a way, I think you may have saved my life in these uncertain times. This one is my top favorite (my goal to live & work in Unalaska). Bon voyage. :)
I really enjoy these videos by FlemingYachts. I never liked to be on any type of boat/yacht in the past, but FlamingYachts videos changed my mind. I like the beautiful filming, narratives, these videos look just wonderful on large screen TV. The voice tone is so soothing to me. Thank you Fleming Yacht.
Always wondered what you would find on the Aleutians as you move South down the chain. Bet there are some old WWII relics out there. Thanks for sharing, Alaska is a beautiful state.
most incredible production.. the videos are great and i remember watching these same shots before.and can watch them over and over.. i hope tony will be able to revisit them or maybe head south to south america or back to europe and go deeper in the baltic sea toward finland etc
I love this video and your many others. This is my favorite part of the world and it is so nice to see so many in's and out's of it. Thank you for sharing your journey's with us. (:
This isn't sailing...this is yachting or cruising but in order to sail.....you need a sail..and your range is only determined by how much food and water you can bring....with yachting/cruising your primary limiting factor is fuel capacity...(but really it's wealth)
watched the first, dont mind watch this as well lol,the beauty of alaska is stunning, i would love to tour scotlands lochs by boat as ive walked every inch in my youth, doing it by boat sounds awesome
Given all the old tales, this inspires me to have a bigass float plane if to do the same. the fear of old journeys is still there. I'd love to fly over them.
Hi! We have communicated before regarding my own Alaska footage of the many similar waterfalls. I had to do a double take when i saw the date of this video. When I first saw the date of this video, I thought we were both in Juno around the SAME DATE. But then i realized I mixed up the year.. I was there almost 2 years later, but on the same date. When I arrived, there seemed to be thousands of waterfalls - each turn in the channel revealed larger or more spectacular waterfalls. spring thaw must have occurred late this/that year. I am happy you reUploaded your videos, those early uploads were in lower resolution or a square format... or am I confusing the videos? Any way, always glad to see new, HD-1080p videos! I would still love to see 4K videos! (YES, I know the problems with uploading 4K video which I now realize from experience!)
Simply Sublime Tony. I have watched all your videos, a lot of them twice. From the comfort of my lounge and with a delightful bottle of Merlot, you transport me to another world. One that I would love to visit, but alas probably never will. It might be the wine, but I have lots of questions. Someone once said there are no silly questions only silly answers... All that timber floating around, causing problems for small boats, would it have any value? I am sure there are many Artists that would love to get some for carving or is it rotten to the core and only fit for the fire? or is it best to leave it to return to Nature from whence it came?? Please post some more videos for your many fans to indulge themselves. Take care and stay safe :-)))
The beaches are piled high with timber. It does seem to be a terrible waste. The wood is saturated with salt and I suppose it costs more to retrieve than it's worth.
@@FlemingYachts Thank you for taking time to reply. Next time you are near a beach with some timber maybe you could pick up a small piece and give it a good coat of varnish... I think it would look wonderful.. :-))
At 4:35, he say's "fish farms are banned in Alaska, commercial fishing is flourishing...etc.". Why do you think fish farms are banned? Anyone have an opinion? Just wondering... greetings from Texas.
When first introduced, fish farms seemed like a good idea. But experience has shown that there are many unintended consequences. I suggest you search the internet and read what those are. Washington state is phasing out all existing fish farms.
There are lots of places Venture has not been. I would love to take her to Greenland but everywhere is so far away. We had planned to make another trip to Kodiak Island this year - in fact we should have been there now. But Covid -19 put an end to those plans and we are fortunate that our problem is so minor compared to those that others have to deal with.
@@FlemingYachts Indeed, fortunate, blessed and thankful, is precisely, how I feel about this time we are living through. Just the same, a little disappointed that your plans for Kodiak had to be "postponed". When the time is right; we'll be looking forward to a new sail with you and Venture II!
The first breakdown on the brand new windlass was something to do with the electric motor. The second breakdown - on the old motor in the new windlass - we think that when the motor was replaced in Prince Rupert it was in the dark in the rain and the connection post was wrenched because we had not used a special extra-thin wrench when the electrical connections were made. All new Flemings now have dual windlasses as standard.
I like the videos that you make. But however the music in this one was so dreadful that I damn near slit my throat while watching. I would suggest in the future to play more upstanding and cheerful music so such catastrophes could be avoided in the future. Now if you'll excuse me I must go find a knife.
Out of the 85,000 people who have watched this video you are the only one who has criticised the music, In fact, I have had more comments praising the music in glowing terms than any other video. Good luck with the knife. Messy solution to your problem though.
The voiceover is soo good. Sounds like something you would find on discovery channel. I can definitely take a nap while listening to this. The visuals are to good though cant close my eyes. Keep up the fantastic work.
