    Heya folks - there has been a change to the location of the cache folder.
    You will now find it here:
    C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\DXCache

    Out of all those settings in the video, turning off rolling cache is the most vital one for stutters. He's right: "It is what it is".

    Another one..."One (settings) fits all?" Despite i agree with most of your recommendations - they are for a high end system like yours. Your system is an edge case most people dont have. Making these kinds of tutorials more helpful for the majority that are hard limited by either CPU/GPU/RAM would mean to explain the system dynamics (how components depend on each other) and then have at least 2 different scenarios. And please explain more why are you changing a specific setting, i know its hard with lacking of proper settings documentation by Microsobo. Very happy with your recommendation to put "Max power" into the FlightSim only applied settings. Thank you!

    The "Disk Clean-up" option from the start menu is also available on Windows 11 now as well, so that is probably the quickest / safest way to do it. Just select C drive, then let it scan for system files also to clean up. The advantage is it cleans a lot more than just the shader files in one go. It deletes a lot of useless junk. Thanks TTM for this video. I have rolling cache off, but I never knew about deleting it once in a while. Great stuff as usual!

    i can agree with all you say! i think i can add memory speed may be a issue as well i have the 4090 and amd 5800x3d and still gets shutters so im going to test putting 64 gigs 3600 instead of the OC 32gig 2800mhz running at 3200mhz should be here tomorrow or the next day my only other option is replace the motherboard with ddr5 its always a micro shudder or a outright CTD no error. So cant wait for beyond ATC this fall Going to be a game changer! Also Running 3 monitors i be leave at 144hz and there 4k monitors that also can be a performance hit here anyways what he and you are saying does do wonders and knowing that about the every time we install something new delete the cash is something else to really consider its worth as a regular maintenance also liquid cooled vs non so many factors sooo much money spending Happy Flying !

But if you have a video to correct the "latent layering problem where it looks like the ground is getting spray tanning as I come in low and slow, please share the info. Does take time to get it perfect, and even so, it also depends on what aircraft type you flying and the airport you are at. Not all airports are not optimized so that doesn't help and also I find that the Fenix lags for me while flying at night. I use 3090 and at times DX12 can give errors DX11 is the better option, But who does use DX12 or DX11 another thing is that I do not run mSFS full screen, I use t in a very small border window. Full screen or not, what does that give to people for performance?

    As usual these types of reduce stuttering instructions did absolutely nothing to reduce stutters and I’m not in the least bit surprised, because the stutters even on a high end system are inherent to the sim and only Asobo can do anything about it, so let’s hope there’s a few less of them in FS2024.

    • @JohnVanderbeck
      @JohnVanderbeck Год назад +2

      Yeah 90% of the stuttering is in the sim itself, it loading up resources and scenery etc on the main thread like its 1999

    • @WhiteHawk77
      @WhiteHawk77 Год назад

      @@JohnVanderbeck yep, and thats cos a bit of the code is from around that time. 😔 FS2024 is the first big difference in improved multithreading with them moving the flight model to a different core. Massive performance improvements I think they said, unfortunately the stuttering is likely caused by other things but I’m hoping that it will at least have a small impact on improving matters and maybe, just maybe they did more than just that to reduce them but I’m not holding my breath as this is Asobo.

    • @cutlass6332
      @cutlass6332 Год назад

      Hence 2024 you think? They found the solution, we buy a new game for £80

    • @JohnVanderbeck
      @JohnVanderbeck Год назад +1

      @@WhiteHawk77 The stuttering is caused by bad loading code. It is IO bound. Will it be fixed in 2024? I have my doubts. I'm sure it will be better, but let's be clear, there is a difference between fixing the heavy single threaded dependence the sim has now, and properly streaming IO as needed. For people like myself with high end CPUs, the problem is only partially the former, and much more the latter. That's why I will have a perfectly smooth flight in the air, and stutter in the departure, arrival, and approach - because that's where the sim is loading all the city/airport models, textures, etc and doing a bad job of it. We'll see if 2024 is better or not. I sure hope it is but I'm not holding my breath.

    • @WhiteHawk77
      @WhiteHawk77 Год назад +2

      @@cutlass6332 that’s not the real reason FS2024 is being made and sold. That was going to happen anyway, because having a new version of the sim every few years is nothing new, yes they could have upgraded the current sim for free but that was never going to happen for ten years, a new separate sim to purchase is not surprising, but I hope it’s performance and smoothness is.
