This is sincerely a bad cover; don't show a good vision about what Velvet underground means to the music nor what Echo and the bunnymen were capable to do (they were great and maybe the postpunk-new wave band more influencied by VU via Bowie). Great video like a curiosity, thats it.
You're right! An average cover of a great song.....Great musical curio though....was just listening to Billy talking about touring the States with the Bunnymen, at the behest of Bill Drummond. He got his mate Wiggy to roadie for him as he thought it would be the one and only time he'd ever get to tour the US.
How can not love this version ? Great Echo , great Big Mac vocals !
Legend pays tribute to another legend.
At the 30 second mark, Mac elbowing the camera out of his face, ha.
Great cover version. I've added this to my FB group dedicated to covers. It's called "the Guilty Pleasure of the Cover Version" Feel free to join in.
They do a great version of Television's Friction.
Cool cover The Velvet Underground
not 85, it was 86. i remember it well and where i was watching it on tv.
Love this!
I remember watching this..
considering they all have a few beers before hand i thought they did a decent job.
Thanks for uploading this. (Though I believe it was 1986 not '85.)
Has anybody got Billy Bragg, Hank Wangford & Andy Kershaw singing on the same show!!!!
Got it on a VHS tape! Maybe gonna have to Do It Myself!!!
I have it transferred to dvd! Along with Billy doing Honey I’m a Big Boy Now with Wiggy
“It’s not a jam it’s a song….”

Shame the bit where he says 'it's not a jam it's a song' is missing at the beginning. I have this recorded on vhs somewhere. ;)
Ah dude it was like 3am and they were all pissed and tired. It’s just some fun.
