Hi Al. Thank you mate. Unfortunately I didn’t get the cloud inversion I was forecast but it was a great day in the mountain all the same. All the best mate Dave 😃🥾⛰
That's a steep pull Dave! Plenty of good views to stop and look at tho' Last time I was up there I used the bus...got off at Kirkstone Pass and got back on at Hartsop. Great walk one I've done many times 👍 Thanks for sharing, ATB Alistair 👍
Hi Alistair. It certainly was steep straight from the off, although once you are up there a the real hard work is done. I just wish the cloud was a little higher. 🤣 Thanks for watching as always mate, it’s very much appreciated. Hope you have had a nice weekend mate. All the best, Dave. 👍
Hi Robert, yeah it was, didn't see a sole all day. It was just a shame that the 90% cloud free summits that MWIS forecast never happened. Haha It was a steep pull up Hartsop Dodd, but once up there it was pretty easy walking. Thanks for watching mate and all the best for Christmas and the New Year. Dave
@ I quite like an atmosphere hike like that at times but yeah shame it didn’t break even once for you. All the best for Christmas and new year to you too
Looks like a frosty one there Dave. You've got some great shots to capture the day. I will do the Fairfield Horseshoe again when daylight allows so will pick a few of these up again. Looks like your trekking pole is a bit on the wonk, you must have worn it out🤣. Enjoy it out there mate⛰😃🥾
Hi Tony. Haha, yeah I stacked it at one point and my pole went between two rocks and the rest they say is history. Fortunately I’m getting a new pair for Christmas off my good lady. 😃 It was such a shame, there were great inversions that day but I just wasn’t up quite high enough. Thanks for watching mate, all the best, Dave 😃🥾⛰
Hi Dave, really enjoyed that, love the music….bit of a mixture of good views and what we call atmospheric up here, basically clagged in lol….pot noodle mate 🙈 empty the contents out and eat the plastic container, more nutritious 😂 Hope you and yours have a fantastic Christmas mate, Take care, Steven 😊🥾⛰️🏴🏴
Morning Steven. Yeah it was such a shame, I just wasn’t quite high enough to get the inversion. I was in the inversion. 🤣 I tell you what mate, whatever you think I do love a pot noodle, but this one from Lidl was minging. After two mouthfuls the rest was tipped out and left for the sheep and the birds. 🤣🤣 All the best for Christmas and the New year to you and your family mate. Take care Dave 😃⛰🥾🎄🎅🏴🏴
@@agesadventures Hi Age, yeah unfortunately the inversion forecasted was just a little further up than it should have been so I was in it rather than above it. 🙁 Still cracking hike ticking of a few new hills for me. All the best mate.
@@DAoutdoors that'll make for some interesting sights while you're out there. They may not capture on camera very well, but being in person they will still be pretty cool. I find that here as well when the fog rolls in.
@@sonnydugganphotography Hi Sonny. Thank you mate. Such a pity the cloud was at the level it was. Another 150m up and I’d have been above it. All the best Marra 😀⛰🥾👍
Brilliant sun shots there on stoney cove dave looked a misty cold bite walk this one loving the mountain name signs and time for a brew and a famous pot noodle big alan has had a good rant for you in my tonight's short xmas vid 😂😂😂😂 looked a good route this one and new wainwright's bagged for you class marra as always cant wait to get back at them next year myself few warm up ones needed first though eh
@@Butchyboysadventures Evening Marra. Yeah, when I was on Stoney Cove Pike I was hoping the cloud was finally going to lift and give me some views so I hung around a while waiting for a Broken Spectre, but unfortunately neither happened. Haha, I will look forward to that. I tell you mate, the Lidl pot noodle was utter shite, I had two mouth fulls, and the rest was left for the sheep or the ravens whichever got to it first. Hope you had a great camp mate, I’m sure you did. 😀👍⛰🥾🏕️
@DAoutdoors dave there is loads i couldnt add in as let's say alan was on a roll he was a half of litre j d in and he just set away it was brilliant mate if ever anyone needs a cheers up just invite alan with hes jd lol
Nice larl route tha.. Painful ascent up to Hartsop Dodd but great when ya up there aye.. really hate that descent to Threshwaite mouth, good stuff, tek care lad :)
Ey up marra. Yeah it's a steep old pull straight off the bat. I just wasn't high enough to get the inversions that day. I saw clips from people on Helvellyn on the same day and they had amazing ones. I liken the route off Stony Cove Pike to the Prison Band off Swirl How. It does get rather awkward at times, especially when there was a touch of ice about. Haha I will get back to you today about Saturday. All the best mate
Nice one Dave, again you got the best of the weather 👍
