Good advice. I rope a lot here in Oregon with a guy who had a very nice handmade Wade. I asked to sit in it and ride it one day (we are similar-sized), and I did not like the feel at all. That test ride saved me a lot of money.
I like a 14" swell fork with a post horn and rough out, with a good pitch to the seat and the stirrups out front a bit, like the swell-fork saddle used as an example in this video. Arizona/New Mexico/Texas-style saddle.
    Very sage advice here.

Would you say people typically need a smaller seat going from a swell fork to a slick fork, or vice versa? Or just kinda depends?

Depends on buckrolls or no buckrolls. If buckrolls aren’t an issue I think same size works for both

Hello! That is a child’s saddle we had for sale.

Would a swell fork be more secure for a novice rider like me? Thanks

Probably so. Just gives you more support in unexpected situations.

Agreed. However with a wade you have the option of bucking rolls for those unexpected situations as well.

Did you folks make that Wade shown in this video?

Hello! We did not make that particular saddle. Chuck Treon made it.

Interesting video. Had no idea what a swell fork vs slick fork style was.

I am having the same problem. Used ones are going for more than a new one.
      Do you like your Wade?
