Jeff, In our house we call that apple crisp, it was my wife's absolute favorite! She is gone now, and I have to make us a treat, and thank you for the memories! Throw in a couple of raisins, they will plump up, and squeeze in half a lemon. Thanks for the no-pressure (except steam pressure) videos, friend. Give your mother a hug. She had to raise you . . . give her two hugs!
We've made this a few times and it is wonderful just as it is. Last time, however, we substituted amaretto for the butterscotch topping and it was, also, fabulous. So easy and so delicious. Thanks, Jeff!
I placed my finished IP peach crisp (same difference w/more brown sugar) under the broiler with door open for 7 min. It makes a huge difference in texture being crispy (carmelized) vs wet (pressure cooked). FYI: You can substitute 2 tsp of Amaretto liquor for caramel sauce in the apple mixture.
Seriously forwarding your channel to my husband who does NOT cook! He got me an instant pot of Christmas & I feel like he needs to take lessons from you lol word of the day plop😂🤣
My dad just got me an instant pot and I just found your channel!!!! Love your videos, they are fun and to the point!! I also saw you were on good morning America!
I just got my new instant pot today and this was the first recipe I made in it. Super easy and it came out absolutely delicious! Thank you and love your videos!
I finally made your Apple Crumble last night...... Absolutely Delicious!!!! My family totally loved it so I'll need to make it again real soon! Thanks, Jeff!
Jeff, we are going to some friends for supper tonight and this will be my contribition. Thank you for always making an Instant pot recipe easy and fun!!
This looks so delicious I can practically smell it through my computer screen. I love apple pie SO MUCH just thinking about it makes me want to just run through a fountain with joy
Jeff I'm not sure what I did wrong but I followed ur recipe to a T and mine turned out basically as apple sauce... im assuming its not supposed to be like this?
Jeffrey I’d like to make this to shares with friends, one of who is a vegan. I can substitute for the butter (easy), but the caramel sauce...? What do you suggest to keep the proper flavor profile?
Great recipe. I made it recently and it tasted great. However I did not have flower and it came out more "liquidy" than I would have liked. I am wondering if I could have substituted corn starch for the flower I did not have?
bill battle hmmmm flour is pretty integral to this recipe but you could try the cornstarch. But beware. It can clump up if not made as a slurry first and it can also make it a bit too thick.
Interesting. My mum always made crumble topping with just cold butter, sugar n flour. I'll have to try this. Can I use microwave oats? I have a few boxes of plain Quaker Oats.
Wow! I'm all over this... AND, I already have all the ingredients!!! Can't wait to try it, Jeff, thanks!!! And btw, I always have to laugh when you say "unsalted butter" because (with your accent) it sounds like you're saying "assaulted butter". Actually, if it's "assaulted butter", I guess I shouldn't be laughing.... Ooops! ;)
I never noticed you had an accent. I am originally from Mass, born and raised. Evidently I have an accent for people in Ohio. I don't hear that either. LOL
Jeffrey I made this today after seeing you on GMO!! Wonderful and preordered your book, can’t wait until April to get my hands on it. I used my IP made Dulce de Leche for the Carmel sauce and got the burn message twice. Could it have been the texture of the Dulce de Leche do you think?
Jeff, this looks amazing! I want to make it but dont have maple syrup. Will it turn out ok without it? Love your channel thank you for sharing these recipes with us.
I'm hoping Santa brings one for Christmas this year. Since I've found your channel, I'm obsessed with getting one. However, in the meantime, what factors into your decision to do a natural vs. straight quick release on your recipes? Thanks so much.
When I was in elementary school in the early to mid '70's, they served the best apple crumble ever, I will make this one day and let you know if it compares!
I've made this and love it, but I'm missing the "crisp" that you normally get from an oven with cold butter chunks...my "plopping" still resulted in a breakfast oatmeal texture sadly. Delicious, just too soft 😭
That' because pressure cookers use steam to cook the food. So you could cook the apple mixture in the pot then transfer it to another baking dish and then put your topping on and broil in an oven for a few minutes to get the top crunchy. I too love the crunchy topping!
Great video buddy, try w/ Peaches there out . just hitting the markets now Shop/rite has good Southern Peaches, Nothing better then Ice Cream over Pies and Crumbles . Again great job buddy 'jerry

Loved the video. My man was straight to the point without having to hear a life story. I will be trying this one.

That looked really good and very easy to make. I will be making it!
I HAVE to try this! I love your enthusiasm! :)
Great recipe. I made it recently and it tasted great. However I did not have flower and it came out more "liquidy" than I would have liked. I am wondering if I could have substituted corn starch for the flower I did not have?

Could you use apple juice instead of water?
Interesting. My mum always made crumble topping with just cold butter, sugar n flour. I'll have to try this. Can I use microwave oats? I have a few boxes of plain Quaker Oats.
How long you let it naturally release

Haha! I was waiting for someone to point that out!
Too funny!!! 😂
I never noticed you had an accent. I am originally from Mass, born and raised. Evidently I have an accent for people in Ohio. I don't hear that either. LOL
Smart Blonde: Is assaulted butter the same as whipped cream?

😱Yessss.. Love ❤️ this & so easy👏 heading to the store now😂🙋
This looks so good. Can’t wait to make. Thanksgiving desert👍🏽🇺🇸
i just started to make this but im getting the burn notice what do i need to do?
Are you from Brooklyn? Looking out your window reminds me of my old neighborhood in Midwood.
Do we have to peel apples? I hate peeling lol
Jeff, this looks amazing! I want to make it but dont have maple syrup. Will it turn out ok without it? Love your channel thank you for sharing these recipes with us.
DAMN!
That looks good Jeff...
Can't wait to try it! I'm going to make it gluten free and report back :)
So I did this exact recipe and with 8 minutes I had no apples left! It was all oatmeal mush, I’m going to redo it today and go for 5 minutes.
You have to wait out a natural release or you'll get apple sauce
Can I use peaches instead
I'm hoping Santa brings one for Christmas this year. Since I've found your channel, I'm obsessed with getting one. However, in the meantime, what factors into your decision to do a natural vs. straight quick release on your recipes? Thanks so much.

Can this be made Pot In pot to take to a party?
Dang. I’m hungry 😂
Looks amazing!!! 😍❤️💙🇺🇸I definitely need to try this in the Instant Pot!
Dude, Yummmmmm! You are totally on a sugar high right now!! Fun video!
Im doing this first time in my ip tonight shortly .i already like and make it.but first time in my ip.

How do you determine natural release vs instant release?
It all depends on what you're cooking!
Not a fan of oatmeal. Can I use something else? But, I still loved the video.
Irene you won't taste the oatmeal, it's covered with many more flavors
I want
Ok you got me at caramel
Okay...I’m hooked...you’re creative, funny, and inspiring...now can I cook this in my 3 quart duo?
brillyintt thank you! And you sure can!
This video says cook for 8mins but your recipe book says only 2mins with a natural release..... is the book more accurate? Thanks.
I'm a Jew so I don't celebrate the 4th, but I love apple crumble...
For me, the apples came out too mushy.. I cut the time to 6 minutes and only 6 natural release
how am I only seeing this now 😳
Why am I only seeing your comment now? 🧐
Great video buddy, try w/ Peaches there out . just hitting the markets now Shop/rite has good Southern Peaches, Nothing better then Ice Cream over Pies and Crumbles . Again great job buddy
'jerry
I'm cooking for 6 people...okay to just double the ingredients?
❤️
Tim McNeill do you love me or my Apple crumble? ;)
Pressure Luck Both, of course!!! 😊
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Get a haircut... hippy!
Excellent recipe.
"any dessert that's more All-American than the Apple Pie"
well apple pie is a French thing so yeah, anything besides that.
Nope, no crunch effect on top which is the best part. Plus it looked skimpy on the crumble topping.
Tater great. Your video says natural release but recipe says quick release
You’re beautiful
GO VEGAN
You had me until the oatmeal
Caramel sauce is total GMO. What else organic could be used?
Victoria Allen that's the one thing I'm going to skip. I see no use for it.
you could always make homemade caramel
Love your recipes, might I suggest less than 8 minutes on high? I ended up with delicious apple sauce. I might try 4 minutes next time.
Plus ~ who keeps caramel sauce on hand?! Otherwise, it looks good. I hope the rest of his recipes are better suited to things I have on hand.
Probably tasty but dirty vegan.
Gross. It's all mushy.
