Love how even though the movie was made in the 90s (it was actually produced in 1991-1992, but not released until 1995), "Take Me Away" sounds a lot like an 80s song!
I read that when it was finished in 1992, Premavision had trouble shopping for a distributor to release the film. That's probably why when it was finally released, the music sounded dated at the time.
I still want for a Gumby reboot to happen, but if it doesn't, this is still the perfect way to end the series for me. This whole scene is a celebration of everything that made Gumby great. The ending, starting with Gumby and Tara parachuting down to the farm, is where I usually start tearing up, especially when we see Gumby do some of his best shapeshifting.
Cool, Gumby and and Art Clokey inspired me to make my own claymation channel because I wished there were more Gumby episodes so I figured I'd just make my own even though I'm young :)
Heh, regarding 4:52 - 4:56, my brother and I made up a spoof of it, referencing how our high school acting director would signal the start of skits. It would go "Five, six, seven, eight, fade!"
If this is an official Gumby channel: PLEASE!! Release the Gumby Adventure series from the 70's and 80's! :) I've got the 50's and 60's series so far and the movie!
+Steven Dolce I think they should release the original version of this movie (as released on video from Kid Vision) on DVD and Blu ray very soon! BTW, you must really love Gumby the Movie. Especially since you're hoping for it to be on Blu Ray if you think it should be on that.
One of the most underrated songs. I remember watching this multiple times as a child.
It would be great if there was an official release of this soundtrack.

I was thinking the same thing. It's like listening to something by Pat Benatar.

I love it regardless.
@@electricmaster23 Same here. I love 80s music, so the style works pretty well for me.

Gumby and Tara are a cute couple and she has such a beautiful voice.
There shoulda been a sequel especially with these two involved
Cant begin to imagine the hours of work doing stop animation with the old school frame by frame method!

i loved this movie growing up and at 21 i still love it! this is my favorite part!
I'm impressed they were able to get that all in one take :P
The singer’s voice is incredible.
I don’t know who it is, but I know it’s the singing voice of Tara.

i watch this every day of my life
The memories are real 😭🤧
Great video! RIP Gumby creator and voice of Pokey, Art Clokey (1921-2010) and voice of Gumby, Dallas McKennon (1919-2009)
Not going to lie I yearned up when the dog cried pearls. Man the memories
This is still a banger and amazing song many years later from the last time I watched this
Lowbelly must be the richest dog Gumby has crying all those pearls!
I want a clean version of this tune so bad!
Especially since its not a tune recognized by Shazam
3 years on and I still want one dammit!!
"Megatron must be stopped... No matter the cost."

Well, the 80s series is now out! but Gumby never had episodes in the 1970s.

The best part of the movie.
Thank you for this!
I want this song to be in Just Dance 2022!
I need this my ringtone
When is this movie going to be on Blu-ray?

I think your right they need to release this on blu Ray
It came out on a blu-ray dvd combo in July. Very generous that they include a dvd copy in the pack. Plus, it's the full 90 minute cut!
It's now out on Blu Ray. Remastered from it's original film rolls, and in it's entirety as Art first released it. Have a very Gumby Thanksgiving!!!!!
It already is
I’ve always Absolutely loved this song! The one thing that never made sense to me though is why they made one of the block heads green
Gumby n’ Tara own this song; I own nothin’
Tara should have waved her arms in the air while singing that song.
Sweet
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
so cool
(signing) romance. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I wonder why the J Blockhead is green in that music video?
I'm writing a second movie with a new girlfriend for him
Wouldn't Tara be jealous in that one?
cornrowcity no, gumby would let her go to a spa job, inspired a bit like regular show
I look forward to seeing it.
cornrowcity it's only like a fanfiction and some artwork so far
Show me a link please. :) :) :) :)
