Change the emblem from Z125 to a Z1000. BOOM! Extra power at a very light weight. You will do wheelies then back flip. Kidding aside, I am enjoying and learning a lot from these videos.
I'm following the show. Buying everything you guys buy. Mine is so fast now. Easy to get to 67mph now. My big bore kit gets here of Friday. Can't wait to put it in!
Bazzaz recommends that you orient the O2 sensor on the top half of the pipe so that moisture and non-spent fuel doesn't pool down into the sensor head. Great video!
More of this kind of videos pls. Im finding it very informative as i am riding a 125 china bike. Im getting a lot of good ideas from this kind of video
Or... high compression piston and port job on the stock head. Would love to see a super 125 type setup. You already have the cams in. I think you can get 13 or 14 out of stock bore. Go go go!
Spend away Motorcyclist Magazine... I would love to see how far the Z125 Pro can be taken with an experienced rider and a liberal budget can be taken as I'm sure many do. It's a really light bike, also low seat height and has sufficient suspension travel for broken pavement, the occasional curb hop :) and even light off roading use, and moderate trails with maxxis off road tires. I prefer the Grom but I imagine that the modding process is largely the same with the Grom only more available parts.
easiest way to make speed is to drop weight on these bikes. I've done 79mph on my stock grom with my own custom intake and my own custom exhaust, and the self tuning finbro ecm and still had 1000 rpm to go. ive dropped over 15lbs off my bike. deleted the unnecessary smog stuff like the cat, muffler, charcoal canister, the rear diving board they come with. the tail weighed 7bls alone, the airbox just under 4lbs and charcoal weighed 2.8lbs put lightweight handle bars on, weight is power with these small suckers soon to be deleting an internal engine piece that weighs 2.5lbs off the rotating mass and overall mass. cannot wait.
These are neat rides. There are a few (and Groms too) rolling around Little Rock. We have steep hills here though so the extra power would really be useful. What about some bar-end mirrors to get rid of the donkey-ears? Maybe a windscreen now that you can break the speed limit (be interesting to see if a windscreen would help you go faster)?
That's what mine does. Hitting rev limiter in forth. Wide open full flat on the bike lol! Helmet on the dash, chest on the tank, and left hand behind the back. Cannot fold myself any lower lol! Next mod, bigger rear tire. Stock one is 120/70/12 I believe, but want to throw a 130/70/12 on and check against the GPS to see if it goes any faster. My 120 tire is worn bald so gets to top speed quicker, and probably indicates higher speed due to lower rear tire profile. Got out run by groms on our recent Le Mans race due to not being able to go any faster while them drafting and speeding up. Bummer! Going to do some tweaks and kick their Honda Assets on a next go! :D
Are there any updates? I am curious to see how much top end was achieved with a 15T sprocket. I'm anxious to finish breaking in my Z so I can do a fat man top speed run to see how it goes compares to my Grom. Already feels like it wants taller gearing.
Hi there! I just got a nice set of BST carbon fiber wheels, although I cant get it installed because my little Z is all taken apart undergoing a serious mini Café Racer project. I also increased the front sprocket by one teeth, and decreased the rear by the same amount. It would be great if you have a chance to have these items on your project so I will know ahead of time what exactly I can expect. Thanks! LP
I would like to see you do gearing for top speed since you now have more power. I think you should have given power commander v a try since it allows you to race the rev limit and adjust ignition timing which, in a grom it gave almost one whole hp just by adjusting timing.
I have the bazzaz and afm on mine, and I saw no mention of taking away the stock o2 sensor. I welded my own bung just for the afm sensor and use both connected when making maps. of course the very limited instruction sheet with the afm didnt say to take away the stock sensor either. Im curious once the map is made, in theory you can remove the afm. would you then put back in the stock o2 with a thread adapter?
How did the full controller help with gear top speed? Right now with no fc it does 26 MPH before redline. Stupid new ECU recall took away speed. Have an air box and exhaust aftermarket.
that seem abit difficult since the h2 motor is a pretty big lump i think its bigger then the frame of the 125 but hey they put a pnigale engine on a grom so chance are is possible
Install a TST Industries integrated tail light. I had one on my Z125, and it was amazing! Also, a vagabond fender eliminator is really nice too, I had one of those as well.
Here's a link for a carbon fibre front fender and under cowl for reduced weight from TYGA Performance and if you don't decide to go for a big bore kit then maybe do a CNC ported head tyga-performance.com/site/index.php?cPath=72_1045_1562_1564 Sean from Australia here
I wouldn't change the gearing. Not worth it to loose bottom and mid power and urban driveability for some useless top speed. This is NOT A HIGHWAY bike, unless you have suicidal tendencies and need to get yourself out of your misery sooner or later.
I'm following the show. Buying everything you guys buy. Mine is so fast now. Easy to get to 67mph now. My big bore kit gets here of Friday. Can't wait to put it in!
I ordered a 143cc kit and a 180cc kit. I also ordered a new cylinder head. Need bigger valves. Possibly ordering the 4 valve head... Expensive hobby man.....

Thank you for the separate dyno runs for each mod.
(Lose the stupid side reflectors for weight reduction)
good series of video's ari, im watching all of them fo'sho! also i hope you havnt quit making "on two wheels"
OTB Velocity Intake Uni filter and 32mm throttle body and exhaust biggest improvement for the money.
you should swap the engine w/125 two stroke. That would help out the lack of power. should fit too.
I want to see more Z125 content Ari!
Spend away Motorcyclist Magazine... I would love to see how far the Z125 Pro can be taken with an experienced rider and a liberal budget can be taken as I'm sure many do.

yessss. big bore kit!
Would like to see a tail tidy kit install, great series by the way too!

This is awesome / exciting!
I want to see you evaluate a 12 O'clock bar.
Why haven't you done this with the grom?
love the MC videos! can all these mods be done on the grom ?
Make a video of changing out the tires. What are the best tires for this bike?
Hell yeah Ari! Sick haha!
I would like to see a gearing change and a camshaft modification by Webb racing cams.
Hayabusa engine swap lol jk this video series is great. Keep up the great work.

what tyres you have on this little sexy beast?
How do you plan to increase the top speed? Install a smaller rear sprocket?
Wouldn't a bigger front sprocket be easier to change?
I think changing the front sprocket gives them lower resolution, so each step up is equivalent to 3 steps down in the back...you get my drift.
Yea i get ya, i guess everyone does it their own way. Its just the cost that makes me switch front instead of back.
Ari Henning cool man thanks for vids I just purchased a 2017 looking forward to meeting mine
I'm interestested in the limits of the transmission if it can handle a big bore kit?
Are there any updates? I am curious to see how much top end was achieved with a 15T sprocket. I'm anxious to finish breaking in my Z so I can do a fat man top speed run to see how it goes compares to my Grom. Already feels like it wants taller gearing.

turbocharging sound be Super cool bist also Super expensive :D
Is this like/or a grom?
I did the yoshimura exhaust, thinking about the Chimera intake, is it a must that I add fuel management ?
it would be cool if you guys could try to improve air and exhaust flow in the original cylinder ports before you change it for a big bore kit.
What about changing chain sprocket ratios for either better acceleration or higher top speed?
i'd like to see if the 4 valve head is available how mush it improves the bike
you should review the honda vfr 1200x
wait, so the z125 is fuel injected? or is it carbureted?

do a big bore kit
Hey Ari... How about doing review for Benelli TnT 135
What playlist does this build fall into?
How did the full controller help with gear top speed? Right now with no fc it does 26 MPH before redline. Stupid new ECU recall took away speed. Have an air box and exhaust aftermarket.
definatly change up the bore or just the shape of the head
now question is. grom or z125.
I want to see adjustable rearsets for me I think it might make the bike more comfortable being 5'11
I went 67 full tuck on flat road I'm 200 pounds the bike is stock exhaust airbox gearing tire size only thing on changed was the levers for now
+Ari Henning not sure whether compliment or top notch sarcasm...haha
LMAO!
68mph bouncing rev limiter
Does the ZF-I work with the AFM self mapping device or you remove the ZF-I to install the self mapping device ❓
big bore kit definitely next but add some gearing too
Big Bore kit!! 😁
How about modding in the H2 motor in it? Cheap and easy to install.
that seem abit difficult since the h2 motor is a pretty big lump i think its bigger then the frame of the 125 but hey they put a pnigale engine on a grom so chance are is possible
how is that possible my bike is faster and I just bought the z125 today
U put ur 125 to the top speed on the first day? How's she running now? I just got a 2018 z125 and following the dumbass break in period rules...
Little Green Machine need headlight/high beam upgrade, voltmeter for the battery, bore kit, break lines etc.
Big Bore kits hype or reality what's the real Dyno numbers?
miss the old two strokes times. man could you squeeze power out off these tiny engines
Let’s see that 143 bbk on there then do the stroker after :)
Install a TST Industries integrated tail light. I had one on my Z125, and it was amazing! Also, a vagabond fender eliminator is really nice too, I had one of those as well.
i say increases it to 200cc therefore is actually freeway legal .
How are you going to prove to a CHP officer that your 125 is actually a 200?
Good ol' beggin'n'tears
Turbo please :)
Turbo and Nitrous!!!
go for a 1 tooth smaller sprocket for rear and 1 tooth larger at the front.
Then let's see the top speed
Install a nitrogen kit with a 3-4hp boost, it should be able to take it and the whole setup should cost you around 300-400£ best upgrade for the money
Add a turbo kit simple yet more power
Tnk
Little Green Machine need headlight/high beam upgrade,
64 mph is the true, gps verified top speed on these.
Try a 15t front sprocket. It's cheap, easy, and will correct the speedo error.
and introduce odometer error.
Only if the odometer is currently reading the correct mileage :P
Aussie Bandit it always is (at least on japanese bikes)
Love my Z. I have the M-Take and Yoshi pipe on it as well and it can move my fat 295lb ass at 65mph.
turbo!!!!!!!!!!
Wish I had unlimited monies to throw at a bike...lol
i really would like a tutorial about how to use the Z-AFM from start to finish. step by step

Me doa uma dessa aí por favor
Big bore kit. Lots of cool stuff from www.takegawa.co.jp/user_data/english.php check it out! Those mods are serious!
Eu me escrevo no canal
Turbo charger.
What a waste of money for only a HP more.
nos
It's not worth the prize, time and energy for that little amount of power gained. No thnx.
I'm following the show. Buying everything you guys buy. Mine is so fast now. Easy to get to 67mph now. My big bore kit gets here of Friday. Can't wait to put it in!
Which big bore kit did you order?
I ordered a 143cc kit and a 180cc kit. I also ordered a new cylinder head. Need bigger valves. Possibly ordering the 4 valve head... Expensive hobby man.....
Oooooh me like! I'm stoked about these monster 125s.
