I've owned Jon boats my entire life. Can't believe this channel has only just popped on my feed. I have both outboard and surface drives. Depends on where I'm going I swap them regularly. Also help with high water rescues during floods. Lone the channel. 👊
I bought a used 1648 Fish Master (Walmart) with a 1993 25 HP Evinrude back in 2005, in Savannah. I still have it and haven’t made any changes to it since I bought it. It’s just a bare boat, nothing fancy like these rigs. I just picked up a 1983 Evinrude 35 HP for it. I’m going to manufacture a simple Jack plate and set it up for optimum performance and see how much MPH I can get out of it.
just pulled my Jon Dear boat out the back yard to the new yard after sitting 7 years. lots of work to be done. Good to see TBnation in SC. Y'all went down the ace basin area I take it.
Idk, that's tough for me. I love boats, but I grew up on four wheelers doing that stuff in the swamps in Florida hunting. That looks like my style right there. Great. Now I gotta build a four wheeler after I finish the Jon boat
Have you ever looked at or done a Pontoon deck on a small boat for a fishing boat for use at a cabin where it would be docked? Have seen the hurricane fun deck, but it seems pricey for my needs. So the question may be what boat would give enough width for stability after mounting the deck to the boat. Like the idea of having the fishing benefits with some creature comforts during rest periods for lunch etc.
I have always wondered about boat registration ⁉️ If my boat is registered in one state can I put it in the water of another ❓ Then it's just a matter of non-resident fishing license.
I will bring my crestliner ( Lowe) 1448 boat so you can see it and take picks of it and I going to put together a 1754 tracker tiller with a 60/40 jet next
