I feel so bad for her. I'm ok with Cosette and Marius being together, but I am so sad for Eponine. I'm just happy that she is willing to be so good to everyone even though she never got as much love as she deserves from her parents or anyone else.
I wish they didn't make them hold their voices back so much, mostly Samantha (Eponine) just watching the 25th anniversary concert is such a difference in vocal range.
"Cosette, I don't know what to say." "Then make no sound." Yeah uh,...you're kinda in a musical where there are hardly any actual conversations that aren't in a song. Good luck with that. But wow I love this song, this movie, and all of the brilliant actors they got for the characters. Especially Marius. Perfection! :D
Poor Eponine (?)... she gave up her chance for happiness so Marius would have happiness. She and Cosset were friends as children (according to the book) but when the tables turned? At first she was understandably mad but then she understood. Marius means everything to her so she goes out of her way to: make sure Marius is alive, stands up to her father and buys Juane Val Jane and Cosset time so they're safe. All because she loved Marius but knew he didn't love her in return.
A lot of people are bashing Marius and Cosette when, in reality that's how relationships worked in France back then. If the man/boy saw a woman/girl that he knew was the one he would ask the father if he could court the girl, but since Cosette saw him too, they knew they were meant to be. About Eponine, I understand where she is coming from, I really do, but she keep her feelings hidden very well and Marius had no idea ( I'm just assuming he didn't because he gave no sign of knowing). And I'm sure if Cosette knew about Eponine's feelings she'd back off, but she didn't. Anyway nowadays love at first sight is VERY unrealistic, but back then it wasn't, so stop bashing them.
I think they really should have case someone other than Amanda to sing Cosette. Just about anyone else, really. The best about part of this trio is when Marius and Eponine drown out Cosette. The other two carry their own with strong stage voices and can carry a tune, and do so very well...not so for Amanda (IMO). I cringe hearing her sing the role...just painful for me.
Eddie has a really beautiful voice.
I am so in love with Amanda Seyfried her voice when she sings is amazing!!!! I have met many celebrities before but she would leave me star struck!!!

Everyone can criticize... Amanda Seyfried is a great actress with a unique voice, even she is not trained.
